Follicular fluid DHEA is produced in part within the ovary. Although follicular DHEA correlated with estradiol and testosterone, it correlated negatively with oocyte and embryo quality.     

Hyperstimulation during IVF cycles does not modify dimensions of small subserosal and intramural leiomyomas

To evaluate the influence of IVF on the dimension of leiomyomas, we selected 72 women with small intramural or subserosal leiomyomas and assessed the size of these lesions before and after the treatment cycle. The mean ± SD diameters of the tumors at these two time points were 20.5 ± 9.5 and 20.6 ± 10.2 mm, respectively, thus supporting the conclusion that IVF does not influence the growth of these lesions.     

Antral follicle count in clinical practice: building the bridge from ovarian reserve to in vitro fertilization outcome

Antral follicle count provides a useful assessment of ovarian reserve to predict ovarian response, estimate risk for cycle cancellation, optimize stimulation protocol selection, and confidently select suitable candidates for IVF.     

Serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin levels can inform outcome counseling after in vitro fertilization

The predictive value of serum beta hCG level for fetal cardiac motion and pregnancy outcome after IVF was evaluated. The serum hCG level 12 days after ET is a useful predictor of subsequent presence of fetal cardiac activity and live birth and may assist clinicians in counseling patients regarding their IVF outcome.     

Evidence of impaired endometrial receptivity after ovarian stimulation for in vitro fertilization: a prospective randomized trial comparing fresh and frozen-thawed embryo transfers in high responders

Clinical pregnancy rates of 80% and 65% were observed in cycles using thawed and fresh embryos, respectively, although embryo quality indicators revealed morphologically and numerically inferior embryo cohorts after cryopreservation. Subsequent logistic regression analysis controlled for differences in embryo quality and revealed significantly greater probability of clinical pregnancy with thawed embryos when compared with fresh, suggesting a negative effect of ovarian stimulation on endometrial receptivity.
