Since the clinical significance of CT abnormalities found in bipolar patients remains obscure, we studied 26 DSM-III bipolar patients who had specific CT abnormalities (third ventricle enlargement, and hyperdensity of the caudate, thalamus, anterior frontal white matter, and right temporal lobe) on numerous parameters such as EEG, the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery, premorbid personality adjustment, family history of affective disorder, positive and negative symptoms, employment history, and response to lithium carbonate treatment. None of these measures could differentiate between the CT abnormal and CT normal subgroups. The implications of these findings are discussed. 相似文献

目的 :对缺血性脑卒中急性期TCD动态观察 ,并与EEG ,BEAM ,CT等进行对比研究 ,以探讨TCD对缺血性脑卒中早期诊断、病情判断、治疗指导的价值 .方法 :发病 2 4h内首次发病的单侧MCA供血区缺血性脑卒中患者 2 3例 ,于入院即刻进行神经功能缺损评分及床旁TCD检查 ,在第 2 ,4 ,7d进行复查 ,入院当天进行EEG ,BEAM及CT检查 .门诊健康体检者 30人为对照组 .结果 :入院当天TCD异常率高于EEG ,BEAM及CT .入院当天病侧MCAVm降低 ,病侧ACAVm升高 ,分别与自身健侧及对照组比较差异有显著性(P <0 0 1) .MCA流速不对称指数 (AI)与神经功能缺损评分成正相关 (P <0 0 1) ,与BEAM慢波相对功率值成正相关 (P <0 0 5 ) ,与α波相对功率值成负相关 (P <0 0 1) .动态观察病侧MCAVm逐渐恢复并出现流速增高 ,而病侧ACAVm随之下降 .结论 :在缺血性脑卒中急性期TCD异常率高于BEAM ,EEG及CT ,异常程度与病情严重程度相关 ,动态观察可发现血管再通情况 ,具有较高的早期诊断、病情判断及治疗指导价值 相似文献

Summary: The goal of this study was to develop a new model of ischemia-induced seizures in immature rats using injection of vasoconstrictor Endothelin-1 (ET-1) into the brain. ET-1 (10, 20, or 40 pmol) was infused into the left dorsal hippocampus of freely moving Wistar rats 12 (P12) and 25 (P25) days old. Animals were then video/EEG-monitored for 100 min and monitoring was repeated 22 h later. Parameters of electrographic seizures (frequency and mean duration) as well as pattern of their behavioral correlates were evaluated. The pattern of behavioral seizures was used to develop model-specific scoring system. Cresyl violet and Fluoro Jade-B-staining were used to evaluate brain damage. Extension of the lesion was correlated with seizure severity. After ET-1-injection, seizures occurred in 83–100% animals of all age-and-dose groups and persisted for 24 h except P12 rats with 10 pmol. There were no differences in average seizure duration (18–40 s) or seizure frequency (3–7 seizures/100 min) among individual dose-groups. Between the 1st and 2nd observation period, total seizure duration decreased in 71% of P12 and 47% of P25 rats. Electrographic seizure activity was most frequently accompanied by clonus, incidence of more severe convulsions (barrel rolling or generalized clonic seizures) increased with dose of ET-1. Morphologic examination did not reveal any dose-related difference in damage severity, hippocampal damage was however more extensive in P12 compared to P25 animals. Seizure severity correlated positively with severity of the damage in both age groups. Our study presents focal injection of ET-1 into the brain as a new and practical model of ischemia-induced seizures in immature rats. 相似文献

目的:观察影像学和脑电图对儿童缺氧缺血性脑病的应用对照及意义。方法:对65例缺氧缺血性患儿作影像学和脑电图检查。结果:脑电图正常6例(9.23%),轻度异常13例(22.03%),中度异常37例(61.03%),重度异常9例(16.94%),脑电图异常率为90.77%。脑电图异常表现为弥漫性慢波增多和局限性癎性放电。影像学异常44例,异常率为67.69%。结论:影像学和脑电图检查对儿童缺氧缺血性脑病的诊断及治疗有一定的帮助。 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of a new method of using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and k-means clustering to increase the signal-to-noise ratio of Event-Related Potential (ERP) measurements while permitting standard statistical comparisons to be made despite the inter-subject variations characteristic of ICA. METHODS: Per-subject ICA results were used to create a channel pool, with unequal weights, that could be applied consistently across subjects. Signals derived from this and other pooling schemes, and from unpooled electrodes, were subjected to identical statistical analysis of the N170 own-face effect in a Joe/No Joe face recognition paradigm wherein participants monitored for a target face (Joe) presented amongst other unfamiliar faces and their own face. Results between the Joe, unfamiliar face and own face conditions were compared using Cohen's d statistic (square root of signal-to-noise ratio) to measure effect size. RESULTS: When the own-face condition was compared to the Joe and unfamiliar-face conditions, the channel map method increased effect size by a factor ranging from 1.2 to 2.2. These results stand in contrast to previous findings, where conventional pooling schemes failed to reveal an N170 effect to the own-face stimulus (Tanaka JW, Curran T, Porterfield A, Collins D. The activation of pre-existing and acquired face representations: the N250 ERP as an index of face familiarity. J Cogn Neurosci 2006;18:1488-97). Consistent with conventional pooling schemes, the channel map approach showed no reliable differences between the Joe and Unfamiliar face conditions, yielding a decrease in effect size ranging from 0.13 to 0.75. CONCLUSIONS: By increasing the signal-to-noise ratio in the measured waveforms, the channel pool method demonstrated an enhanced sensitivity to the neurophysiological response to own-face relative to other faces. SIGNIFICANCE: By overcoming the characteristic inter-subject variations of ICA, this work allows classic ERP analysis methods to exploit the improved signal-to-noise ratio obtainable with ICA. 相似文献
