Indomethacin suppositories were prepared by using water-soluble and oil soluble suppository bases, and evaluated for in vitro release by USP I and modified continuous flow through bead bed apparatus. Effect of the Tween 80 (1% and 5%) was further studied on in vitro release of the medicament. Release rate was good in water-soluble suppositories bases in comparison to oil soluble suppositories bases. Release was found to be greater in modified continuous flow through bead bed apparatus. When surfactant was used in low concentration then release rate was much greater, as compared to high concentration. When stability studies were performed on the prepared indomethacin suppositories it was found that suppositories made by water-soluble base had no significant changes while suppositories prepared by oil soluble bases, had some signs of instability.  相似文献

目的研究家庭病床患者的功能状态、家庭功能和心理状态。方法对238例家庭病床患者应用自制基本情况调查表、COOP/WONCA功能状态量表、90项症状自评量表(SCL-90)、家庭关怀度指数(APGAR)问卷对患者的功能状态、家庭功能和心理状态进行评价。结果70岁以上的老人所占比例较大。只有10.1%的患者总体功能良好。患者躯体化、抑郁、恐怖、强迫症状、人际敏感、敌对、偏执因子分与常模比较,差别有统计学意义(P<0.05)。患者对家庭功能评价良好者占63.9%,只有8.0%的患者认为自己的家庭功能存在严重障碍。家庭功能评分与SCL-90总分呈正相关(P<0.05);COOP/WONCA中生理适应性、情感、健康变化、整体健康评分与SDL-90总分呈正相关(P<0.05)。结论家庭病床患者以老年人为主,总体功能较差,且存在一些心理问题;家庭功能与心理状态相关,心理状态又与个人功能状态相关。  相似文献

The effects on infants of sleeping with their parents is currently the subject of much debate. One concern regarding infants who sleep in their parents' bed involves the possibility of overheating. Previous research reported a significantly greater core temperature of 0.1 degrees C among a cohort of bed-sharing infants compared with a matched cohort of infants sleeping alone. This paper presents a preliminary analysis of the overnight rectal temperature of 12 of the 20 infants who were monitored sleeping alone and with their parents on separate nights at the University of Durham Parent-Infant Sleep Lab. No significant differences were found in all night rectal temperature, or temperature from 2 h after sleep onset between bed-sharing and cot sleeping nights. These preliminary analyses suggest a night-time difference in rectal temperature between routine bed-sharers and routine cot sleepers, however, these findings will be further explored in the full analyses for this study.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to explore whether the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) associated with prone sleeping position and other risk factors varies with season. The study was a large nation-wide case-control study, which compared 485 cases with 1800 controls. Parents of 393 (81.0%) cases and 1591 (88.4%) controls were interviewed. Obstetric records were also examined. Infants dying in winter were older and had lower birthweights than those dying in summer. The increased risk of SIDS associated with prone sleeping position was greater in winter than in summer. In contrast, the increased risk of SIDS associated with excess thermal insulation and bed sharing was less in winter than in summer. Prone sleeping position accounts for about half of the difference between the mortality rate in summer and that in winter. This suggests that some factor related to season modifies the effect of prone sleeping position.  相似文献

A sex difference in the number of vasopressin-immunoreactive cells was found in the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis of the rat. The number of cells found in males exceeded the female corresponding value. A sharp decrease in the number of vasopressin-immunoreactive cells was noted 21 weeks after the castration of adult male rats. This decline could be reversed completely by a 5-week testosterone substitution therapy.  相似文献

Disturbed microcirculation caused by fat accumulation in hepatocytes has been implicated in poor graft preservation and reperfusion. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of vascular bed expansion (VBE) during cold preservation in graft survival Moderate liver steatosis in male Wistar rats (240–280 g) was induced by choline-deficient diet. Normal, steatotic or VBE-pretreated steatotic grafts were transplanted after 1 h or 9 h of cold preservation. Graft viability was determined by 7-day survival, serum liver enzymes, plasma tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-, interleukin (IL)-6, and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. Post-reperfusion bile flow and liver histology were also examined. After 9 h of preservation, VBE-pretreated steatotic liver grafts were associated with significantly reduced serum liver enzyme, plasma TNF-, IL-6, and MDA levels, as well as increased bile flow and higher survival rates compared with untreated ones. The present study shows that VBE protects fatty liver grafts from subsequent long-term cold preservation and reperfusion injury in a rat liver transplantation model.  相似文献

Previous studies have shown that the medial prefrontal cortex can suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis response to stress. However, this effect appears to vary with the type of stressor. Furthermore, the absence of direct projections between the medial prefrontal cortex and corticotropin-releasing factor cells at the apex of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suggest that other brain regions must act as a relay when this inhibitory mechanism is activated. In the present study, we first established that electrolytic lesions involving the prelimbic and infralimbic medial prefrontal cortex increased plasma adrenocorticotropic hormone levels seen in response to a physical stressor, the systemic delivery of interleukin-1beta. However, medial prefrontal cortex lesions did not alter plasma adrenocorticotropic hormone levels seen in response to a psychological stressor, noise. To identify brain regions that might mediate the effect of medial prefrontal cortex lesions on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis responses to systemic interleukin-1beta, we next mapped the effects of similar lesions on interleukin-1beta-induced Fos expression in regions previously shown to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis response to this stressor. It was found that medial prefrontal cortex lesions reduced the number of Fos-positive cells in the ventral aspect of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis. However, the final experiment, which involved combining retrograde tracing with Fos immunolabelling, revealed that bed nucleus of the stria terminalis-projecting medial prefrontal cortex neurons were largely separate from medial prefrontal cortex neurons recruited by systemic interleukin-1beta, an outcome that is difficult to reconcile with a simple medial prefrontal cortex-bed nucleus of the stria terminalis-corticotropin-releasing factor cell control circuit.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine, in conscious rats, whether elevated concentrations of circulating angiotensin II activate neurones in both the subfornical organ and organum vasculosum of the lamina terminalis (OVLT) that project to the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST). The strategy employed was to colocalize retrogradely transported cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) from the BNST, with elevated levels of Fos protein in response to angiotensin II. Circulating angiotensin II concentrations were increased by either intravenous infusion of angiotensin II or subcutaneous injection of isoproterenol. Neurones exhibiting Fos in response to angiotensin II were present in the subfornical organ, predominantly in its central core but with some also seen in its peripheral aspect, the dorsal and lateral margins of the OVLT, the supraoptic nucleus and the parvo- and magnocellular divisions of the paraventricular nucleus. Fos-labelling was not apparent in control rats infused with isotonic saline intravenously or injected with either CTB or CTB conjugated to gold particles (CTB-gold) only. Of the neurones in the subfornical organ that were shown by retrograde labelling to project to BNST, approximately 50% expressed Fos in response to isoproterenol. This stimulus also increased Fos in 33% of neurones in the OVLT that project to BNST. Double-labelled neurones were concentrated in the central core of the subfornical organ and lateral margins of the OVLT in response to increased circulating angiotensin II resulting from isoproterenol treatment. These data support a role for circulating angiotensin II acting either directly or indirectly on neurones in subfornical organ and OVLT that project to the BNST and provide further evidence of functional regionalization within the subfornical organ and the OVLT. The function of these pathways is yet to be determined; however, a role in body fluid homeostasis is possible.  相似文献
