In our paper, the magneto-optical properties of a dichroic cholesteric liquid crystal layer with large values of magneto-optical parameter g and low values of dielectric permittivity were investigated. The solutions of the dispersion equation and their peculiarities were investigated in detail. The specific properties of reflection, transmission, absorption, rotation, ellipticity spectra and also the spectra of ellipticity and azimuth of eigen polarization were investigated. The existence of a tunable linear and nonreciprocal transmission band was shown.  相似文献

Isothermal annealing of a eutectic dual phase Ni–Mn–Sn–Fe alloy was carried out to encourage grain growth and investigate the effects of grain size of the γ phase on the martensitic transformation behaviour and mechanical properties of the alloy. It is found that with the increase of the annealing time, the grain size and volume fraction of the γ phase both increased with the annealing time predominantly by the inter-diffusion of Fe and Sn elements between the γ phase and the Heusler matrix. The isothermal anneals resulted in the decrease of the e/a ratio and suppression of the martensitic transformation of the matrix phase. The fine γ phase microstructure with an average grain size of 0.31 μm showed higher fracture strength and ductility values by 28% and 77% compared to the coarse-grained counterpart with an average grain size of 3.31 μm. The fine dual phase microstructure shows a quasi-linear superelasticity of 4.2% and very small stress hysteresis during cyclic loading, while the coarse dual phase counterpart presents degraded superelasticity of 2.6% and large stress hysteresis. These findings indicate that grain size refinement of the γ phase is an effective approach in improving the mechanical and transformation properties of dual phase Heusler alloys.  相似文献

This paper reviews the phase structures and oxidation kinetics of complex Ti-Al alloys at oxidation temperatures in the range of 600–1000 °C. The mass gain and parabolic rate constants of the alloys under isothermal exposure at 100 h (or equivalent to cyclic exposure for 300 cycles) is compared. Of the alloying elements investigated, Si appeared to be the most effective in improving the oxidation resistance of Ti-Al alloys at high temperatures. The effect of alloying elements on the mechanical properties of Ti-Al alloys is also discussed. Significant improvement of the mechanical properties of Ti-Al alloys by element additions has been observed through the formation of new phases, grain refinement, and solid solution strengthening.  相似文献

The use of phase change materials (PCMs) is an attractive method for energy storage and utilization in building envelopes. Here, shape-stabilized phase change materials (SS-PCMs) were prepared via direct adsorption using mesoporous silica (MS) with different pore diameters as the support matrix. The leakage properties, microstructure, chemical structure, thermophysical properties, activation energy, thermal stability and thermal storage-release characteristics of paraffin and SS-PCMs were investigated. The results show that the maximum mass proportion of paraffin in SS-PCMs is 70% when the average pore diameter of mesoporous silica is 15 nm, and the phase change temperature and latent heat of the corresponding SS-PCM are 23.6 °C and 135.4 kJ/kg, respectively. No chemical reaction occurs between mesoporous silica and paraffin and the SS-PCMs exhibit high thermal stability. The high activation energy of the paraffin (70%)/MS1 SS-PCM verifies that the shape and thermal properties can be maintained stably during phase change conversions. The time required for SS-PCMs to complete the thermal storage and release process is reduced by up to 34.0% compared with that for pure paraffin, showing a decline in the thermal conductivity of SS-PCMs after the addition of mesoporous silica. Hence, the prepared paraffin/MS SS-PCMs, in particular paraffin (70%)/MS1 SS-PCM, can be used for storing thermal energy and regulating indoor temperature in buildings.  相似文献

Ceramic-particle-reinforced iron matrix composites (CPR-IMCs) have been used in many fields due to their excellent performance. In this study, using the fast resistance-sintering technology developed by our team, iron matrix composites (IMCs) reinforced by both SiC and TiCx particles were fabricated via the addition of SiC and Ti3AlC2 particles, and the resulting relative densities of the sintering products were up to 98%. The XRD and EDS analyses confirmed the in situ formation of the TiCx from the decomposition of Ti3AlC2 during sintering. A significant hybrid reinforcing effect was discovered in the (SiC + TiCx)p/Fe composites, where the experimental strength and hardness of the (SiC + TiCx)p/Fe composites were higher than the composites of monolithic SiCp/Fe and (TiCx)p/Fe. While, under the condition of constant particle content, the elongation of the samples reinforced using TiCx was the best, those reinforced by SiC was the lowest, and those reinforced by (SiC + TiCx) fell in between, which means the plastic response of (SiC + TiCx)p/Fe composites obeyed the rule of mixture. The successful preparation of IMCs based on the hybrid reinforcement mechanism provides an idea for the optimization of IMCs.  相似文献

MAX phases are an advanced class of ceramics based on ternary carbides or nitrides that combine some of the ceramic and metallic properties, which make them potential candidate materials for many engineering applications under severe conditions. The present work reports the successful synthesis of nearly single bulk Ti2AlN MAX phase (>98% purity) through solid-state reaction and from a Ti and AlN powder mixture in a molar ratio of 2:1 as starting materials. The mixture of Ti and AlN powders was subjected to reactive spark plasma sintering (SPS) under 30 MPa at 1200 °C and 1300 °C for 10 min in a vacuum atmosphere. It was found that the massive formation of Al2O3 particles at the grain boundaries during sintering inhibits the development of the Ti2AlN MAX phase in the outer zone of the samples. The effect of sintering temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ti2AlN MAX phase was investigated and discussed.  相似文献

A novel liquid phosphorous-containing flame retardant anhydride (LPFA) with low viscosity was synthesized from 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO) and methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride (MeTHPA) and further cured with bisphenol-A epoxy resin E-51 for the preparation of the flame retardant epoxy resins. Both Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements revealed the successful incorporation of DOPO on the molecular chains of MeTHPA through chemical reaction. The oxygen index analysis showed that the LPFA-cured epoxy resin exhibited excellent flame retardant performance, and the corresponding limiting oxygen index (LOI) value could reach 31.2%. The UL-94V-0 rating was achieved for the flame retardant epoxy resin with the phosphorus content of 2.7%. With the addition of LPFA, the impact strength of the cured epoxy resins remained almost unchanged, but the flexural strength gradually increased. Meanwhile, all the epoxy resins showed good thermal stability. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal decomposition temperature (Td) of epoxy resin cured by LPFA decreased slightly compared with that of MeTHPA-cured epoxy resin. Based on such excellent flame retardancy, low viscosity at room temperature and ease of use, LPFA showed potential as an appropriate curing agent in the field of electrical insulation materials.  相似文献

We report the possibility of achieving normal-incidence transmission at non-normal incidence angles using thin interfaces made of metasurface structures with an appropriately-designed positive spatial phase distributions. The reported effect represents a consequence of generalized reflection and refraction, which, although having been studied for discovering exotic effects such as negative refraction, to the best of our knowledge fails to address normal incidence conditions in positive phase distribution and its underlying consequences. Normal-incidence conditions can be angle-tuned by modifying the vales of the phase distribution gradients. Furthermore, for configurations around the normal-incidence angles, the metasurface will exhibit a bifunctional behavior—either divergent or convergent. All these properties are essential for applications such as optical guiding in integrated optics, wave front sensing devices, polarization controllers, wave front-to-polarization converters, holographic sensors, and spatially-resolved polarization measurement.  相似文献

The article presents the results of research on the structural evolution of the composite Fe-Al-based coating deposited by arc spray with initial low participation of in situ intermetallic phases. The arc spraying process was carried out by simultaneously melting two different electrode wires, aluminum and low alloy steel (98.6 wt.% of Fe). The aim of the research was to reach protective coatings with a composite structure consisting of a significant participation of FexAly as intermetallic phases reinforcement. Initially, synthesis of intermetallic phases took place in situ during the spraying process. In the next step, participation of FexAly fraction was increased through the annealing process, with three temperature values, 700 °C, 800 °C, and 900 °C. Phase structure evolution of the Fe-Al arc-sprayed coating, stimulated by annealing, has been described by means of SEM images taken with a QBSD backscattered electron detector and by XRD and conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) investigations. Microhardness distribution of the investigated annealed coatings has been presented.  相似文献

A novel powder wire mesh composite porous plate (PWMCPP) was fabricated with 304 stainless steel powders and wire mesh as raw materials by vacuum solid-state sintering process using self-developed composite rolling mill of powder and wire mesh. The effects of different mesh volume fractions, mesh diameters, and sintering temperatures on the pore structure and Charpy impact properties of PWMCPPs were studied. The results show that PWMCPPs have different shapes and sizes of micropores. Impact toughness of PWMCPPs decreases with increasing wire mesh volume fraction, and increases first and then decreases with increasing wire mesh diameter, and increases with increasing sintering temperature. Among them, the sintering temperature has the most obvious effect on the impact toughness of PWMCPPs, when the sintering temperature increased from 1160 °C to 1360 °C, the impact toughness increased from 39.54 J/cm2 to 72.95 J/cm2, with an increased ratio of 84.5%. The tearing between layers, the fracture of the metallurgical junction, and the fracture of wire mesh are the main mechanisms of impact fractures of the novel PWMCPPs.  相似文献
