对人体牙齿颜色测量系统的重复性进行研究。方法:采用CIE1976L^*a^*b^*色度参数对7名自愿者上中切牙进行测量,通过比较不同时间、不同损伤者测量结果差异,计算、比较不同时间测量色差偏差的大小,研究人体牙齿颜色测量系统的重复性。结果:本实验所测人体牙齿颜色系统在不同时间测量结果的色差偏差为1.026个单位,且不同时间比较该色差值无显著性差异;不同时间内测量指标比较除a^*以外,L^*,b^*  相似文献

Summary The effects of intravenous nitroglycerin (NTG) combined with dopamine on intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebral arteriovenous oxygen difference (AVDO2) were studied in 11 patients with acute subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). The study was performed on Days 1 to 3 of SAH after aneurysmal clipping. Treatment consisted of an intravenous drip infusion of NTG in increasing incremental doses of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 g/kg/min at one-hour intervals. Dopamine (5 to 10 g/kg/min) was also given concurrently to maintain systemic blood pressure. ICP values before NTG administration ranged from 7 to 24 mmHg (mean, 11.91±5.30 mmHg). ICP began to increase immediately after the adminisration of NTG 0.5 g/kg/min and peaked at 14.64±5.93 mmHg 10 minutes after onset of infusion. Thereafter, ICP gradually returned to pretreatment levels. Increasing the dose of NTG failed to induce further significant rises in ICP. Mean AVDO2 before NTG administration was 4.69±0.62 ml/dl. This parameter showed no significant change during NTG infusion, although cerebral perfusion pressure decreased to between 75% to 94% of the control value after NTG administration. These results indicate that continuous NTG infusion combined with dopamine does not have adverse effects on ICP (the ICP increase is minimal and transient) and may even have beneficial effects on CBF in patients with acute SAH.  相似文献

BackgroundMindfulness interventions can improve psychological distress and quality of life (QoL) in cancer survivors. Few mindfulness programs for cancer recovery exist in Southeastern U.S. The primary objective of this study was to assess the feasibility of a modified mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program for breast cancer patients in Birmingham, Alabama. The secondary objective was to explore potential program effects on mindfulness skills and QoL.MethodsThis study was a prospective, quasi-experimental feasibility study conducted over 10 months at a university hospital. Feasibility was achieved if 80% of eligible patients screened enrolled in the study and 70% of enrolled patients attended all 8 program sessions. Effectiveness was estimated by changes in mindfulness and QoL indicators measured with validated scales administered at 3 time points and assessed with a non-parametric Friedman test. Sessions included meditation, yoga, and an attention practice called body scan. There were 3 groups of 2–5 patients.ResultsThe sample totaled 12 patients. Forty-four percent (12/27) of eligible patients enrolled in the study, and two out of 12 enrolled patients completed 8 program sessions, resulting in 16.7% (2/12) retention. However, more than half (66.7%) of participants completed at least 7 sessions. Between baseline and 8-week follow-up, patients demonstrated statistically significant improvements in distress, general wellbeing, and fatigue-related QoL.ConclusionsFeasibility objectives were not achieved. However, a majority of participants (66.7%) completed 7 of 8 program sessions. Program effects were promising for distress, fatigue, and wellbeing. Results warrant further research on MBSR-like programs for breast cancer patients in Alabama.  相似文献

采用新近发展的cDNA代表性差异分析法筛选鼻咽癌中不表达的或表达降低的cDNA序列。结果显示:有9个与已知基因高度同源的cDNA序列。通过对这些已知基因的结构和功能分析,发现有与细胞骨架成分相关的基因:αactinin,ezrin和细胞角蛋白13;直接与瘤基因和抑瘤基因相互作用的基因:鲨烯合成酶和TRIP1基因;直接参与DNA合成以及调控基因转录和翻译的基因:TAFⅡ68和组蛋白H10;另外还有人类补体因子B及类转运RNA合成酶的基因。这些基因大多具有相当于抑瘤基因的功能。从而进一步说明鼻咽癌的发生是多基因相互作用的结果。  相似文献

The present study examined hippocampal volume and dentate gyrus width and their relations to gonadal hormone levels in adult male and female meadow voles, Microtus pennsylvanicus. Females were split into High and Low Estradiol groups based on the median estradiol level. Males were similarly split into High and Low Testosterone groups. Contrary to previous reports in wild meadow voles, there was no evidence of an overall sex difference in hippocampal volume. However, when male-female comparisons were limited to High Testosterone males and Low Estradiol females a significant sex difference in hippocampal volume favouring males did emerge. Hippocampal volume in males was related to testosterone level, with High Testosterone males having significantly larger hippocampi than Low Testosterone males. Similarly, there was a significant influence of plasma estradiol level on hippocampal volume and left dentate gyrus width, with High Estradiol females having larger hippocampi and dentate gyrus width than Low Estradiol females. In addition, consistent with previous findings in the laboratory rat, there were sex differences favouring males in right dentate gyrus width. These findings show that there is a complex relationship between hippocampal volume, dentate gyrus width and gonadal hormone levels in male and female meadow voles.  相似文献

Sex differences have been observed in antinociception following central administration of morphine into either the lateral ventricles or rostral ventromedial medulla (RVM) such that male rats exhibit significantly greater antinociception than female rats. The present study examined whether sex and adult gonadectomy differences were observed in morphine-induced (1-10 micrograms) antinociception elicited from the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG) on two nociceptive measures. Both sham-operated (ED50=1.20-1.60 microgram) and castrated (ED50=1.08-1.09 micrograms) male rats displayed significantly greater magnitudes and potencies of morphine-induced antinociception on both tests than female rats. Sham-operated female rats tested during the estrous phase (ED50=>50 micrograms) were significantly less sensitive to morphine than ovariectomized female rats (ED50=1.98-2. 51 micrograms). Thus, the vlPAG, a site sensitive to interactions between estradiol-containing hypothalamic loci and opioid peptides, elicits morphine-induced antinociception which is sensitive to sex differences and adult gonadectomy.  相似文献

The pattern of growth hormone (GH) secretion and rate of somatic growth are markedly sexually dimorphic, but the underlying neuroendocrine mechanisms are far from clear. In the present study, we tested the hypothesis that the sexual dimorphism of GH secretion may be due to gender-related differences in the transduction of somatostatin's actions in brain and/or pituitary. To accomplish this, we compared the distributional pattern and level of expression of two somatostatin receptor subtypes, sst1 and sst2, in the brain and pituitary of adult male and female rats by in-situ hybridization using 35S-labelled antisense riboprobes. In the brain, the hybridization pattern and labelling density of sst1 and sst2 mRNA-expressing cells, as revealed by computer-assisted image analysis, in areas including the cerebral cortex, medial habenula (MHb) and ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus (VMN), were similar in male and female rats. In contrast, there was a marked sex-related difference in sst1 expression in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus; both the number and labelling density of sst1 mRNA-expressing cells were two- to threefold greater in males than in females and this significant increase was homogenous throughout the rostrocaudal extent of the nucleus. No gender-related differences in arcuate sst2 mRNA levels were found. At the level of the anterior pituitary, the labelling density of sst2 mRNA in males was significantly higher than that of females. No sex-related difference in pituitary sst1 mRNA was observed. These results demonstrate a sexual dimorphism in the expression of two somatostatin receptor subtypes, sst1 and sst2, at the level of the arcuate nucleus and anterior pituitary, respectively. Such dimorphism suggests a differential involvement of sst1 and sst2 in GH regulation with respect to gender, and may imply roles for sst2 and sst1 in transducing somatostatin's actions on pituitary somatotrophs and GH-releasing hormone-containing arcuate neurones, respectively, to generate the lower basal and higher GH pulse levels characteristic of the male rat.  相似文献

In the human hypothalamus, arginine-vasopressin (AVP) is produced for a major part by the neurones of the supraoptic nucleus (SON). Since plasma AVP levels in men were reported to be higher than those of women and we did not find a sex difference in the neurone number, a higher vasopressinergic neurone activity was supposed to be present in the SON of men. Therefore we studied the size of the Golgi-apparatus (GA), which has been demonstrated previously to be a sensitive parameter for protein synthetic ability of neurones, in 15 men and 17 women ranging in age from 29 to 94 years. A polyclonal antibody against immunoaffinity purified MG-160, a sialoglycoprotein of the medial cisternae of the GA was applied on paraffin-embedded sections containing the dorsolateral SON (dl-SON) from which 90-95% of neurones are vasopressinergic. SON areas that contain oxytocin (OT) cells were excluded on the basis of adjacent sections stained with a monoclonal antibody against OT. By means of an image analysis system the size of the GA and the cellular profile area were determined in dl-SON neurones with a nucleolus. Our results showed indeed an age-dependent sex difference in the size of the GA that appeared to be twice as large in young men (< or = 50 years old) than in young women of the same age. The size of the GA increased with age in women but not in men. In addition, the mean cell profile area, another measure for neuronal activity, was significantly larger in young men than in young women and was in old women larger than in young women. In conclusion, these data show the presence of a sex-dependent age-difference in the activity of vasopressinergic neurones in dl-SON which may relate to differences in AVP and sex hormone levels and kidney AVP receptors.  相似文献

Background: Because calcium channel blockers reduce vascularresistance, they may have a clinical application in the treatment ofnormal-tension glaucoma (NTG). This study investigates changes inboth the optic disc blood flow and the hemodynamics of retrobulbarvessels in NTG patients after the systemic administration of a calcium channel blocker. Methods: Twelve eyes of 12 NTG patients (meanage 57 6 ± 15.3 years) were examined before and after a 4-weektreatment with 2 mg b.i.d. oral nilvadipine, an L-typc calcium channel blocker. By scanning laser-Doppler flowmetry (SLDF), we obtained the velocity, flow, and volume from within a 10 × 10 pixel windowplaced on the temporal rim region of the optic disc perfusion map. Byultrasound color Doppler imaging (CDI), we measured the peak systolicvelocity (PSV) and the end diastolic velocity (EDV) of the ophthalmicartery (OA), central retinal artery (CRA), nasal posterior ciliary artery (NPCA), and temporal posterior ciliary artery (TPCA). We then calculated a resistance index (RI) for each vessel. Results: After treatment, the flow and velocity of the optic disc blood flow significantly increased (P < 0.05).Nilvadipine also significantly reduced RIs of the CRA, NPCA, and TPCA(P <0 .05), and increased both the PSV of the NPCA and the EDVs of the CRA, NPCA, and TPCA. The percent change in velocity correlated significantly with the percent changes of the CRA RI and NPCA RI. Conclusions: Oral nilvadipine appears to reduce orbital vascular resistance, which consequentlyincreases the optic disc blood flow. Rationale: An association between tardive dyskinesia (TD) and severely impaired metabolism of the large neutral amino acid (LNAA), phenylalanine (Phe) was defined in a group of mentally retarded patients. Subsequently, an altered kinetics of Phe was associated with TD in men with schizophrenia based on plasma analyses subsequent to the ingestion of a protein meal. Methods: In the present study, a standardized oral challenge of pure Phe (100 mg/kg in 170 ml orange juice) was administered to psychiatric patients of both sexes (n = 312), with and without TD after an overnight fast. Plasma LNAA levels were assayed both fasting and 2 h subsequent to the ingestion of the challenge. The extent of the increase in plasma Phe levels 2 h following a standardized challenge is determined by the sum of the kinetic processes of plasma absorption, tissue distribution, metabolism and elimination. Results: The study hypothesis, that TD would be associated with significantly higher post-challenge plasma Phe indices of an absolute plasma Phe level and plasma Phe/LNAA ratio (a brain availability measure), was verified for the study men (n = 209), but not for the study women (n = 103). Conclusions: The demonstrated altered kinetics of Phe in men with TD indicates a greater availability of Phe to the brain in these men. We suggest that the disorder may be related to the effects of this greater availability. Such effects could be the direct neurotoxic effects of Phe and its metabolites and/or the modulating effects of these compounds on the synthesis of the monoamine neurotransmitters. The fact that TD (Yes/No) group differences in post-challenge plasma Phe indices were not seen for the study women suggests the possibility of a sex difference in the biology of TD that we propose may be reflective of the young age of the study sample.
