We describe the origin and structure of a peer supervision group organized by social workers and ongoing for five years. Peer supervision was our response to a felt need for the social work practitioner to continue to develop professionally. The group has met a wide range of professional needs for social work practitioners. Group members were generally eager for the opportunity to discuss case material with one another. We foresee such peer group supervision as a viable mechanism for providing consultation and continuing education for experienced clinicians. 相似文献

However, limited attention has been paid to issues regarding the clinical supervision of school psychologists at this level. Suicide is a public health priority. International guidance on prevention, epidemiology and treatment-based research indicates the potential of gatekeeper training in this area. Whilst there is some evidence to suggest that interventions enhance the knowledge and skill set of gatekeepers, evidence regarding changes to intervention-related behaviour remains unclear. This disruption to the causal pathway between competency and action suggests the need to address contextual mediators of the implementation of gatekeeper training and to consider the individual as a situated agent, who is both enabled and constrained by the discourses and working practices of the organisation in which they work. To explore organisational influences on intervention behaviour, this paper draws upon a qualitative study of the applied suicide intervention skills training (ASIST) gatekeeper intervention in Wales. Thirty-three individual interviews and six focus groups (n?=?25 individuals) with those employed by a range of statutory and non-statutory organisations and networks were included. Three key organisational influences were identified as impacting on gatekeeper’s intervention behaviour. These include: the democratisation of intervention; organisational attempts to enhance opportunities to intervene; and the creation of a positive context for intervention. This study concludes that both policy and practice need to move beyond a reductionist approach to gatekeeper training and attend to the organisational influences and contextual factors affecting intervention-related behaviour. 相似文献

The effect of 6-months' physical training on plasma testosterone, androstenedione and luteinizing hormone levels and the binding capacity of sex-hormone-binding globulin (SHBG capacity) were studied in thirty-nine army recruits. Highly significant increases in mean plasma testosterone (21 %), androstenedione (25%) and LH (25%) were observed during the training period and were associated with a mean 16% increase in the estimated maximal oxygen uptake. The mean increases in hormone levels tended to be greater in the well conditioned group than in the poorly conditioned group. The mean ratio of testosterone to SHBG capacity increased by 32% (P<0.05), which may be in relationship with the various training-induced effects. 相似文献

The urinary excretion of catecholamines was measured in six healthy male volunteers at rest and during a fixed amount of work before and after physical training. It was found that, although training resulted in a significantly lower heart rate during exercise, the output of catecholamines was unaltered, indicating that the total activation of the sympathoadrenal system by exercise was similar before and after training. A similar heart rate study before and after training was also made during beta-adrenergic receptor blockade. Under these conditions the heart rate during exercise was not significantly changed by training. It is suggested that physical training reduces the sensitivity of the beta-receptors of the heart. 相似文献
