Daily patterns of melatonin and 5-methoxytryptophol (5-ML) concentrations and of aryl alkylamine N-acetyltransferase (AA-NAT) and hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase (HIOMT) activities have been measured in the cerebroid ganglions, visceral ganglions, and ocular tentacles of the gastropod mollusc Helix aspersa maxima. Melatonin concentrations are very low in all the studied structures, except a small peak at the end of the night in the cerebroid ganglions. 5-ML, which is quite undetectable in the cerebroid and visceral ganglions, shows clear daily variations in the ocular tentacles with low values in the middle of the light period and high values during the night. These results are opposite to what is known on daily variations of 5-ML in vertebrates. AA-NAT activity was not detected, while the presence of an HIOMT-like activity supports the hypothesis that 5-ML is synthesized in the ocular tentacles. The temporal relationships existing between the 5-ML rhythm in the ocular tentacles and the hemolymph suggest that 5-ML could be released in the general circulation. These preliminary results suggest that 5-ML could be an informative molecule involved in adaptative processes in the snail and they reinforce the hypothesis that the different 5-methoxyindoles could be implicated in the integration of environmental information.  相似文献

目的 探讨情景模拟训练对脑卒中患者日常生活自理能力的影响.方法 入选我院2011年10月至2013年10月收治的116例脑中风患者.以数字法随机分成观察组(58例)和对照组(58例).对照组采用临床上常用的治疗和护理方法;观察组在对照组基础上进行情景模拟训练,对比两组患者生活自理情况.结果 观察组疗效为优者占比例77.59% (45/58),优良率为91.38% (53/58),均高于对照组.差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05).发病后,缺血性脑卒中和出血性脑卒中Barthel指数较发病前均显著下降,差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05).3个月及12个月后,除排尿和排便外,Barthel指数评分均显著提高,且观察组优于对照组,差异均具有统计学意义(均P <0.05).结论 情景模拟训练对脑卒中患者日常生活自理能力有很好的效果,不仅可以减少患者的痛苦,还可以使患者家属提前准备,值得临床推荐.  相似文献

Background

Although 70% of postmenopausal women suffer from hot flashes the pathophysiology is poorly understood. The serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) venlafaxine provides relief of flushing although the mechanism is unknown and could involve a central effect and/or a peripheral effect. Using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) we studied the central serotonin transporter (SERT) in vivo using [123I]-beta-carbomethoxy-3-β-(4-iodophenyl)tropane (beta-CIT) and, as previous studies have shown that reactivity of the skin blood vessels is enhanced in those who flush, we examined cutaneous microvascular perfusion.

Methods

Cutaneous microvascular perfusion was assessed in 31 postmenopausal women, with flushing, using laser Doppler imaging with iontophoresis (LDI + ION), before and after 8 weeks of treatment with venlafaxine. A sub-group of 14 of these women also had SPECT imaging at both time points to evaluate the availability of SERT in the brain. Flush frequency and score was recorded, and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) II scores were assessed before and after treatment.

Results

Following treatment with venlafaxine, there was a significant reduction in the [123I]-beta-CIT binding ratio, BDI scores, flushing and endothelial dependent perfusion response. [123I]-Beta-CIT reduction was associated with BDI reduction (r2 = 0.54; F = 8.8; p = 0.004), but not flushing reduction or perfusion reduction.

Conclusions

Venlafaxine resulted in a decrease in BDI II scores with an associated reduction in [123I]-beta-CIT binding in a group of non-depressed women. It also improved flush frequency and severity which may be as a result of decreases seen in enhanced cutaneous microvascular perfusion.  相似文献

Despite its medical relevance, accurate recognition of sedentary (sitting and lying) and dynamic activities (e.g. standing and walking) remains challenging using a single wearable device. Currently, trunk-worn wearable systems can differentiate sitting from standing with moderate success, as activity classifiers often rely on inertial signals at the transition period (e.g. from sitting to standing) which contains limited information. Discriminating sitting from standing thus requires additional sources of information such as elevation change.The aim of this study is to demonstrate the suitability of barometric pressure, providing an absolute estimate of elevation, for evaluating sitting and standing periods during daily activities. Three sensors were evaluated in both calm laboratory conditions and a pilot study involving seven healthy subjects performing 322 sitting and standing transitions, both indoor and outdoor, in real-world conditions.The MS5611-BA01 barometric pressure sensor (Measurement Specialties, USA) demonstrated superior performance to counterparts. It discriminates actual sitting and standing transitions from stationary postures with 99.5% accuracy and is also capable to completely dissociate Sit-to-Stand from Stand-to-Sit transitions.  相似文献

目的研究5类急症的日周期分布特征与合理调配护理人员。方法运用圆形分布统计方法,分析了1995~2004年间新生儿出生、新生儿死亡、老龄呼吸衰竭死亡、上消化道出血、急诊手术的时间分布资料。结果新生儿出生时间u±s为2301±438;新生儿死亡时间u±s为2426±533;老龄呼吸衰竭死亡时间u±s为441±455;上消化道出血时间u±s为123±349;急诊手术时间u±s为1742±153;结果均呈现明显的班后集中趋势。结论依据5类急症的归属科室和高发时段,采用不同形式的弹性排班制,合理地调配院科两级护理资源,确保了护理质量和医疗安全,已取得良好的管理效果。  相似文献
