The dielectric properties of reactive mesogens before and after photopolymerization were investigated. Commercially available nematic reactive mesogens (RMS03-013C, Merck) were measured and found to be dual-frequency liquid crystals. The property arose from the δ-relaxation process that was caused by rotational fluctuations parallel to the molecule’s long axis. After polymerization, the polymerized reactive mesogens still exhibited this dual-frequency property. The result was attributed to the β-relaxation process which arose from rotational fluctuations of localized parts of the main chain. The sign change of the dielectric anisotropy with increasing frequency after polymerization was opposite to the sign change before polymerization.  相似文献

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the early bone response of tapered and cylindrical root form implants with two different surface treatments in fresh extraction sockets after 4 and 8 weeks. Materials and Methods: Surface treatments and implant design comprised (n = 9 each): tapered with dual acid‐etched surface; tapered with dual acid‐etched and sandblasted surface (T DAE SB); cylindrical with dual acid‐etched surface (C DAE); and cylindrical with dual acid‐etched and sandblasted surface (C DAE SB). Implants were placed in the distal sockets of mandibular premolars (2P2,3P3,4P4) of six beagle dogs, remaining in vivo for 4 and 8 weeks. After sacrifice, the implants were subjected to torque to the point of interface fracture and subsequently nondecalcified for histomorphological study. Statistical analysis was performed by a General Linear Model (GLM) analysis of variance model with a significance level of 5%. Results: Torque to interface fracture was significantly greater for the C DAE SB group than for the other groups (p < .001). Histomorphological analysis showed woven bone formation around all implant surfaces at 4 weeks and its replacement by lamellar bone at 8 weeks. Study time (4 or 8 weeks) did not affect torque measures. Conclusions: The double acid‐etched and sandblasted sample surface increased early bone biomechanical fixation of both cylindrical and tapered root form implants. The cylindrical root form implants showed higher torque to interface fracture values when compared with the tapered root form implants. The C DAE SB surface group showed the highest biomechanical fixation values (p < .001).  相似文献

The consensus systematic risk stratification algorithm from the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and The Hip Society summarizes clinical challenges in evaluation and treatment of metal-on-polyethylene total hip arthroplasty (THA) patients with adverse local tissue reaction (ALTR) due to mechanically assisted crevice corrosion (MACC), reviews up-to-date evidence, and identifies the areas for future research in order to provide a useful resource for orthopedic surgeons providing care to these patients. A painful THA has various intrinsic and extrinsic causes. ALTR is one of the intrinsic causes in patients with painful THA. The occurrence of ALTR due to MACC at modular junctions is likely to be multifactorial, including implant, surgical, and patient factors. Therefore, a systematic evaluation needs to involve a focused clinical history, detailed physical examination, laboratory tests, and imaging in order to identify potential differential diagnoses. There should be a low threshold to perform a systematic evaluation of patients with painful non–metal-on-metal THA, including patients with metal-on-polyethylene THA, and modular dual-mobility THA with the CoCr metal acetabular insert, as early recognition and diagnosis of ALTR due to MACC will facilitate initiation of appropriate treatment prior to significant adverse biological reactions. Specialized tests such as blood metal analysis and metal artifact reduction sequence magnetic resonance imaging are important modalities in evaluation and management of ALTR in patients with painful THA.  相似文献
