Thymolipoma revelated by myasthenia

Thymolipomas are rare, often asymptomatic benign tumors; their revelation by myasthenia is exceptional. A 49-year-old patient with a one-year history of fluctuant muscular fatigability developed ptosis. Electromyography revealed a myasthenic neuromuscular block. The CT scan disclosed a thymic mass especially important on the left side. Thoracotomy under left mammary was performed for thymectomy. Pathology examination of the surgical specimen provided the diagnosis of benign thymolipoma. At 37 months follow-up, the myasthenia has remained unchanged.     

Compression extrinsèque de l’artère pulmonaire secondaire à une tumeur germinale non séminomateuse médiastinale

Acquired arterial pulmonary stenosis is rarely found in adults. Reviews and case reports suggest that tumours of the mediastinum (teratomatas and Hodgkin's disease) are the most frequent culprits leading to compression of the main pulmonary artery. We present the case of a young patient with chest pain. Compression of the main and left pulmonary artery by an anterior mediastinal nonseminomatous germ cell tumors (GCTs) was diagnosed by transthoracic echocardiography and CT scan.     

Solitary fibrous tumor of the scalp: a case report

The solitary fibrous tumor is a rare tumor, ubiquitous, mesenchymatous essentially affecting serosal surfaces. The location in the scalp is exceptional. We report a case of tumor in left occipital scalp discovered after recurrence of a tumor initially taken for a lipoma. The motive for consultation was mainly aesthetic. The pathological examination is the main element of diagnosis. The assumption is based on a large lumpectomy and an extended and regular clinical monitoring. The forecast is favourable with a decline of one year. However, relapses may occur in the long-term and there are malignant forms.
