An atomic force microscope (AFM) was operated to repeatedly measure the adhesion forces between a polystyrene colloid probe and a gold film, with and without lateral movement in dry conditions. Experimental results show that the adhesion force shows a level behavior without lateral movement and with a small scan distance: the data points are grouped into several levels, and the adhesion force jumps between different levels frequently. This was attributed to the fact that when the cantilever pulls off the sample, the contact area of the sample is not exactly the same between successive contacts and jumps randomly from one to another. Both lateral velocity and material wear have little influence on level behavior. However, with a medium scan distance, level behavior is observed only for some measurements, and adhesion forces are randomly distributed for the other measurements. With a large scan distance, adhesion forces are randomly distributed for all measurements. This was attributed to the fact that the cantilever pulls off the sample in many different contact areas on the scanning path for large distances. These results may help understand the influence of lateral movement and imply the contribution of asperities to adhesion force.  相似文献

Although the growth rate of diamond increased with increasing methane concentration at the filament temperature of 2100 °C during a hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD), it decreased with increasing methane concentration from 1% CH4 –99% H2 to 3% CH4 –97% H2 at 1900 °C. We investigated this unusual dependence of the growth rate on the methane concentration, which might give insight into the growth mechanism of a diamond. One possibility would be that the high methane concentration increases the non-diamond phase, which is then etched faster by atomic hydrogen, resulting in a decrease in the growth rate with increasing methane concentration. At 3% CH4 –97% H2, the graphite was coated on the hot filament both at 1900 °C and 2100 °C. The graphite coating on the filament decreased the number of electrons emitted from the hot filament. The electron emission at 3% CH4 –97% H2 was 13 times less than that at 1% CH4 –99% H2 at the filament temperature of 1900 °C. The lower number of electrons at 3% CH4 –97% H2 was attributed to the formation of the non-diamond phase, which etched faster than diamond, resulting in a lower growth rate.  相似文献

Carbon-like materials such as the anode and the ramming paste play a crucial role in the efficiency of the Hall–Héroult process. The mechanical behavior of these materials during forming processes is complex and still ill-understood. This work aimed to investigate experimentally the mechanical behavior of a carbon paste used in the aluminum industry under different loading conditions. For this purpose, experiments consisting of (1) relaxation tests at different compaction levels, (2) quasi-static cyclic tests at several amplitudes, (3) monotonic compaction tests at varied strain rates, and (4) vibrocompaction tests at different frequencies were carried out. The obtained results highlight some fundamental aspects of the carbon paste behavior such as the strain rate’s effect on the paste compressibility, the hardening-softening behavior under cyclic loadings, the effect of cycling amplitude on the stress state and the paste densification, and the frequency effect on the vibrocompaction process. These results pave the way for the development of reliable rheological models for the modeling and the numerical simulation of carbon pastes forming processes.  相似文献

In recent years, studies of different properties of hybrid metal matrix composites, as well as very detailed issues, have been published. In this article, ready-made iron, graphite, and silicon carbide powders were used to produce the base material and composites. An analysis of some microstructural and mechanical properties, as well as the tribological behavior of metal matrix composites (MMCs), based on FeGr1 sintered material with the single and hybrid addition of a silicon carbide and graphite was undertaken. During the study, the flexural and compressive strength of MMCs were analyzed and changes of the momentary coefficient of friction, the temperature of friction, as well as wear rates of the MMCs tested were monitored. Based on the results, it was revealed that wear rates decreased 12-fold in comparison to the base material when SiC or SiC + Gr were added. Further research into MMCs with ceramic particle additives is proposed.  相似文献

Modified cokes with improved resistance to CO2 reaction were produced from a high volatile coking coal (HVC) and different concentrations of boron carbide (B4C) in a laboratory scale coking furnace. This paper focuses on modification mechanism about the influence of B4C on coking behavior and chemical structure during HVC carbonization. The former was studied by using a thermo-gravimetric analyzer. For the latter, four semi-cokes prepared from carbonization tests for HVC with or without B4C at 450 °C and 750 °C, respectively, were analyzed by using Fourier transform infrared spectrum and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy technologies. It was found that B4C will retard extensive condensation and crosslinking reactions by reducing the amount of active oxygen obtained from thermally produced free radicals and increase secondary cracking reactions, resulting in increasing size of aromatic layer and anisotropic degree in coke structure, which eventually improves the coke quality.  相似文献

At present, most Mo2FeB2-based cermets are prepared by vacuum sintering. However, vacuum sintering is only suitable for ordinary cylinder and cuboid workpieces, and it is difficult to apply to large curved surface and large size workpieces. Therefore, in order to improve the flexibility of preparing Mo2FeB2 cermet, a flux cored wire with 70% filling rate, 304 stainless steel, 60 wt% Mo powder and 40 wt% FeB powder was prepared. Mo2FeB2 cermet was prepared by an arc cladding welding metallurgy method with flux cored wire. In this paper, the microstructure, phase evolution, hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of Mo2FeB2 cermets prepared by the vacuum sintering (VM-Mo2FeB2) and arc cladding welding metallurgy method (WM-Mo2FeB2) were systematically studied. The results show that VM-Mo2FeB2 is composed of Mo2FeB2 and γ-CrFeNi.WM-Mo2FeB2 is composed of Mo2FeB2, NiCrFe, MoCrFe and Cr2B3. The volume fraction of hard phase in WM-Mo2FeB2 is lower than that of VM-Mo2FeB2, and its hardness and corrosion resistance are also slightly lower than that of VM-Mo2FeB2, but there are obvious pores in the microstructure of VM-Mo2FeB2, which affects its properties. The results show that WM-Mo2FeB2 has good diffusion and metallurgical bonding with the matrix and has no obvious pores. The microstructure is compact and the wear resistance is better than that of VM-Mo2FeB2.  相似文献

A study on the strength of ceramic fiber bundles based on experimental and computational procedures is presented. Tests were performed on single filaments and bundles composed of two fibers with different nominal fiber counts. A method based on fiber rupture signals was developed to estimate the amount of filament rupture during the test. Through this method, the fiber bundle true strength was determined and its variation with the initial fiber count observed. By using different load-sharing models and the single filament data as input parameter, simulations were also developed to verify this behavior. Through different approaches between experiments and simulations, it was noted that the fiber bundle true strength increased with the fiber count. Moreover, a variation of the fibers’ final proportion in the bundles relative to the initial amount was verified in both approaches. Finally, discussions on the influence of different load-sharing models on the results are presented.  相似文献

SiC particle reinforced aluminum alloy has a wide application in the aerospace industries. In this study, laser shock peening (LSP), an advanced surface modification technique, was employed for SiCp/2009Al composite to reveal its microstructure, microhardness and residual stress evolution. After peening, high densities of dislocations were induced in the aluminum substrate, and stacking faults were introduced into the SiC particle. The microhardness was increased from 155–170 HV to 170–185 HV, with an affected depth of more than 1.5 mm. Compressive residual stresses of more than 200 MPa were introduced. The three-point bending fatigue of the base material, laser peened and milled after laser peened specimens with artificial crack notch fabricated by a femtosecond laser was investigated. The average fatigue lives of laser peened and milled after laser peened specimens were increased by up to 10.60 and 2.66 times, compared with the base material. This combined fundamental and application-based research seeks to comprehensively explore the applicability of LSP on metal matrix composite.  相似文献

目的研究中药煮散的粉体特征及其水煎液中成分的分散溶出行为,为煮散的粒径控制及实际应用提供实验依据。方法选取黄芩、黄连、葛根、甘草4种饮片制成煮散,考察其粒度分布、流动性等粉体特征及水煎液中混悬性微粒的分散属性,并比较煮散与饮片煎煮有效成分的溶出行为。结果黄芩、黄连、甘草煮散粒度分散均匀,流动性好,葛根煮散稍差。煮散与饮片水煎液中大多为亚微米级颗粒,而光学和电学性质显示煮散水煎液中的微粒较多、较大、易沉降,具有非均相液体的特征,而其成分溶出速度、溶出量均明显高于饮片。结论煮散作为新型饮片之一,能增加药效物质的溶出,缩短煎煮时间,提高药材利用度,值得研究推广。  相似文献
