RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: Breast sonography is not routinely used to distinguish benign from malignant solid masses because of considerable overlap in their sonographic appearances. The purpose of this study was to investigate the computerized analyses of breast lesions in ultrasonographic (US) images in order to ultimately aid in the task of discriminating between malignant and benign lesions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Features related to lesion margin, shape, homogeneity (texture), and posterior acoustic attenuation pattern in US images of the breast were extracted and calculated. The study database contained 184 digitized US images from 58 patients with 78 lesions. Benign lesions were confirmed at biopsy or cyst aspiration or with image interpretation alone; malignant lesions were confirmed at biopsy. Performance of the various individual features and output from linear discriminant analysis in distinguishing benign from malignant lesions was studied by using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. RESULTS: At ROC analysis, the feature characterizing the margin yielded Az values (area under the ROC curve) of 0.85 and 0.75 in distinguishing between benign and malignant lesions for the entire database and for an "equivocal" database, respectively. The equivocal database contained lesions that had been proved to be benign or malignant at cyst aspiration or biopsy. Linear discriminant analysis round-robin runs yielded Az values of 0.94 and 0.87 in distinguishing benign from malignant lesions for the entire database and for the equivocal database, respectively. CONCLUSION: Computerized analysis of US images has the potential to increase the specificity of breast sonography. 相似文献

Human growth modeling statistics were utilized to examine how Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale (VABS) scores changed in individuals with autistic disorder as a function of both age and initial IQ. Results revealed that subjects improved with age in all domains. The rate of growth in Communication and Daily Living Skills was related to initial IQ while rate of growth in Social Skills was not. Results should provide hope for parents and further support for the importance of functional social-communication skills in the treatment of autism. 相似文献

目的:探讨细菌内毒素脂多糖(LPS)对缺氧缺血性脑损伤(HIBD)新生大鼠远期智能的影响,方法,建立新生大鼠LPS+HIBD模型,于新生大鼠缺氧前4h给予腹腔注射LPS0.3mg/kg,HIBD组和对照组仅给予腹腔注射生理盐水,采用迷宫实验观察远期学习记忆能力的改变。结果:LPS+HIBD组学习记忆能力明显低于HIBD组,表现在达标所需反映次数明显高于HIBD组(P<0.05),而正确率支明显低于HIBD组(P<0.05),结论:LPS对缺氧缺血引起的脑损伤有增敏作用,可进一步降低HIBD后的学习和记忆能力。 相似文献

目的 :了解早期干预对窒息新生儿智能发育的影响。方法 :将154例窒息新生儿进行系统性早期干预 ,早期指导健康教育 ,同时有60例窒息新生儿未进行早期干预作为对照。结果 :6个月龄两组智力和心理运动发育指数差异无显著性 (P>0 05) ,而1岁、1岁半、2岁时智能发育指数早期干预组明显优于对照组小儿 (P<0 05)。结论 :系统性早期干预对窒息新生儿智能发育有重要促进作用[1]。 相似文献

目的探讨孕期先兆流产对所出生儿童智力发育的影响情况,为进一步做好围产期保健和儿童保健工作提供科学理论基础。方法在广州市海珠区随机分层抽取公立、厂企街道及私立等不同性质托幼机构各10间,分别对175名先兆流产组4 ̄7岁儿童和182名正常对照组同龄儿童采用调查问卷,详细询问一般情况、孕期及分娩情况、儿童生长发育及教育情况等;同时对两组研究对象进行韦氏智力测验,并进行单因素分析以及多因素分析等统计学处理。结果母亲孕期先兆流产对出生儿童智力发育有负面影响,主要表现在言语智商和总智商方面。结论应尽量避免各种原因造成的先兆流产,进一步深入研究先兆流产与儿童智力发育的关系及其生物医学机制,积极寻找先兆流产后既能继续妊娠又不影响儿童智力发育的科学干预措施,加强先兆流产后出生儿童的保健、教育工作,弥补先兆流产对儿童智商所造成的不良影响。 相似文献

In the afternoon of March 26,2019, The White Paper on Medical Imaging Artificial Intelligence in China was officially released in Beijing by the Chinese Innovative Alliance of Industry, Education, Research and Application of Artificial Intelligence for Medical Imaging (CAIERA). The white paper was co-operatively written by the medical imaging experts from the tertiary Chinese hospitals, the scientific experts from AI research institutions and the leading AI medical enterprises in China. The contents of the white paper not only cover the up-to-date application of AI in medical field, the latest advances of AI algorithms in medical image processing, the data requirement for medical AI development, and the current situation of structured data, but also expatiate the goal and challenge of clinical application for medical imaging AI development in 16 medical subject areas, which helps to identify the demands and opportunities for the AI industry. Forty representative enterprises of AI medical imaging in China were introduced in the white paper. The white paper points out the three key problems in development of AI products: the robustness, ease of usage and data security, which provides guidance of direction and strategy for the enterprises. Particularly, in view of the national policy on developing AI, the white paper gives a profound analysis on the challenges and the opportunities that medical imaging AI is facing. These contents agglomerate the cutting-edge efforts of experts in the industry-academia-research-application chain of medical AI, represent the mainstream voice of the society in China. The White Paper will play a guiding role in understanding the market demands and establishing standardized systems in the path of landing AI products in the field medical imaging. The theoretical basis of the research was the conception of human intelligence of Sternberg.
