Summary A 7,022 by BamHI-EcoRI fragment, located in the inverted repeat of spinach chloroplast, has been sequenced. It contains a 2131 codon open reading frame (ORF) homologous to both tobacco ORFs 581 and 1708, and to Marchantia ORF 2136. Relative to the Marchantia chloroplast genome, spinach ORF 2131 is located at the end of a large inversion; the other end point is close to trnL, the position of which is the same in Marchantia, tobacco and spinach. In Marchantia, two 8 by direct repeats flanking two 10 by indirect repeats are present near the end points of the inversion. These repeats may result from a transposon-mediated insertion which would have facilitated the subsequent inversion. From a comparison of the gene organization of the spinach, tobacco, and Marchantia genomes in this region, we propose a step-wise process to explain the expansion of the inverted repeat from a Marchantia-like genome to the spinach/tobacco genome.  相似文献

目的 建立可数值量化的应力与骨生长目的建立可数值量化的应力与骨生长生物力学模型。方法 将动物实验、骨生长方程中未知参数的反演识别和计算机技术相结合,研究应力环境对快速生长期大鼠股骨生长与重建的影响,依据大鼠股骨所受外力刺激以及近端骨密度数值的改变,反演骨生长方程中的未知参数B和K。结果 文中所建的生物模型不仅能够数值模拟快速生长期大鼠股骨骨密度变化和外界刺激的关系,而且能够预测大鼠生命周期中某段时间内不同应力环境下股骨的生长趋势。结论:本文的建模思路和方法为人体骨骼重建适应模型的确立起到提示和借鉴作用。  相似文献

IntroductionTo investigate the impact of parameter optimisation for novel three-dimensional 3D sequences at 1.5T and 3T on resultant image quality.MethodsFollowing institutional review board approval and acquisition of informed consent, MR phantom and knee joint imaging on healthy volunteers (n = 16) was performed with 1.5 and 3T MRI scanners, respectively incorporating 8- and 15-channel phased array knee radiofrequency coils. The MR phantom and healthy volunteers were prospectively scanned over a six-week period. Acquired sequences included standard two-dimensional (2D) turbo spin echo (TSE) and novel three-dimensional (3D) TSE PDW (SPACE) both with and without fat-suppression, and T21W gradient echo (TrueFISP) sequences. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were measured for knee anatomical structures. Two musculoskeletal radiologists evaluated anatomical structure visualisation and image quality. Quantitative and qualitative findings were investigated for differences using Friedman tests. Inter- and intra-observer agreements were determined with κ statistics.ResultsPhantom and healthy volunteer images revealed higher SNR for sequences acquired at 3T (p-value <0.05). Generally, the qualitative findings ranked images acquired at 3T higher than corresponding images acquired at 1.5T (p < 0.05). 3D image data sets demonstrated less sensitivity to partial volume averaging artefact (PVA) compared to 2D sequences. Inter- and intra-observer agreements for evaluation across all sequences ranged from 0.61 to 0.79 and 0.71 to 0.92, respectively.ConclusionBoth 2D and 3D images demonstrated higher image quality at 3T than at 1.5T. Optimised 3D sequences performed better than the standard 2D PDW TSE sequence for contrast resolution between cartilage and joint fluid, with reduced PVA artefact.Implications for practiceWith rapid advances in MRI scanner technology, including hardware and software, the optimisation of 3D MR pulse sequences to reduce scan time while maintaining image quality, will improve diagnostic accuracy and patient management in musculoskeletal MRI.  相似文献

This study evaluated whether atypical face processing in autism extends from human to cartoon faces for which they show a greater interest. Twenty children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) were compared to two groups of typically developing children, matched on chronological and mental age. They processed the emotional expressions of real faces, human cartoon and nonhuman cartoon faces. Children with ASD were as capable as controls in processing emotional expressions, but strategies differed according to the type of face. Controls relied on a configural strategy with all faces. By contrast, ASD children exploited this typical configural strategy with cartoons but used a local strategy with real faces. This atypical visual processing style is discussed in the context of face expertise.  相似文献

The schizophrenia deficit in facial emotion recognition could be accounted for by a deficit in processing the configural information of the face. The present experiment was designed to further test this hypothesis by studying the face-inversion effect in a facial emotion recognition task. The ability of 26 schizophrenic patients and 26 control participants to recognize facial emotions on upright and upside-down faces was assessed. Participants were told to state whether faces expressed one of six possible emotions (happiness, anger, disgust, fear, sadness, neutrality) in two sessions, one with upright faces and the other with upside-down faces. Discriminability and the decision criterion were computed. The results indicated that the schizophrenic patients were impaired in upright facial emotion discrimination by comparison with the controls. They also exhibited an inversion effect similar to the controls. However, whereas controls tended to adopt a more conservative criterion for all emotions and a liberal criterion for neutrality when the faces were upside-down, schizophrenic patients presented a decision criterion pattern that was similar for the two orientations and similar to controls in upside-down emotion recognition. The lack of a decision criterion shift was associated with positive symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, and bizarre behavior. Moreover, positive and negative symptoms were associated with inversion effect on discriminability; the more severe the symptoms, the weaker the inversion effect. We conclude that individuals with schizophrenia do process the configural information of the face. However, further investigations are needed to assert whether this information is of good quality in schizophrenia.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different inversion times (TIs) on flow-sensitive alternating inversion recovery (FAIR) perfusion imaging and compare them with the cerebral blood flow reserve evaluated by acetazolamide challenge using single-photon-emission computed tomography (SPECT). The subjects were nine patients with unilateral obstruction of the internal carotid artery. The signal ratio (SR16/8) of two images with different TIs (1,600 ms and 800 ms) was calculated, and the cerebral blood flow reserve (CFR) was evaluated by the increase in the ratio of cerebral perfusion after administration of acetazolamide in the SPECT study. A reversed linear correlation ( r =0.75) was found between SR and CFR, indicating that differences of FAIR images with changes of TI will be affected by cerebral flow reserve.  相似文献

The variation among faces can be partitioned into two sources: (a) shape and (b) surface reflectance. To compare the utility of shape and reflectance for face recognition, we created two sets of faces, with individual exemplars differing only by shape in one set and only by reflectance in the other set. Grayscale and full color versions of the stimuli were used in separate experiments; the physical variation between exemplars was equated across the two sets with the grayscale but not the full color stimuli. Subjects performed a matching task in which both the target and distractor were drawn from the same set, so that only shape or only reflectance information could be used to perform the task. With the grayscale stimuli, performance was better in the shape condition, but with the color stimuli, performance was better in the reflectance condition. Inversion of the faces disrupted performance with the shape and reflectance sets about equally, suggesting that the inversion effect is not caused specifically by the spacing of facial features, or even by shape information more generally. These results provide evidence that facial identity is a function of reflectance as well as shape, and place important constraints on explanations of why inversion impairs face recognition.  相似文献

Background

The variability of peroneal reaction time measurements is a major problem when using this parameter to control rehabilitation or proprioceptive training processes. In order to control peroneal reaction time values, some extrinsic factors should be considered. The purpose of this study was to measure peroneal reaction time in unipodal stance for two different destabilization axes.

Methods

The peroneal reaction time of 10 healthy subjects was measured from kinematic and electromyograhic data in an experimental study using an ankle destabilization device.

Findings

In a preliminary analysis, results showed that the destabilization axis orientation did not affect peroneal reaction time values (68.5 ms, standard deviation = 9.5 ms and 71.5 ms, standard deviation = 8 ms for destabilizations in the frontal plane and around the Henke's axis, respectively). However, the inter-trial variance of inversion velocity peaks explained between 40% and 49% of the peroneal reaction time variance. When trials were selected on the basis of homogeneous inversion velocity peaks, results showed that peroneal reaction time values for the peroneus brevis were shorter during inversion movements performed around the physiological Henke's tilting axis (63 ms, standard deviation = 9 ms vs. 71 ms, standard deviation = 8 ms).

Interpretation

Our findings evidenced that tilting axis orientation must be considered as an extrinsic factor that may influence peroneal reaction time. Moreover it also seems necessary to consider inversion speed values to adequately compare peroneal reaction time values.  相似文献
