The remarkable mechanical properties of silk fibres stem from a multi-scale hierarchical structure created when an aqueous protein “melt” is converted to an insoluble solid via flow. To directly relate a silk protein’s structure and function in response to flow, we present the first application of a Rheo-IR platform, which couples cone and plate rheology with attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy. This technique provides a new window into silk processing by linking shear thinning to an increase in molecular alignment, with shear thickening affecting changes in the silk protein’s secondary structure. Additionally, compared to other static characterization methods for silk, Rheo-IR proved particularly useful at revealing the intrinsic difference between natural (native) and reconstituted silk feedstocks. Hence Rheo-IR offers important novel insights into natural silk processing. This has intrinsic academic merit, but it might also be useful when designing reconstituted silk analogues alongside other polymeric systems, whether natural or synthetic.  相似文献

Objective.?Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) is a complication of pregnancy with a high mortality rate. The diagnosis of AFE is currently based on clinical findings, acute respiratory distress, cardiovascular collapse during labor and delivery, and immediate massive postpartum hemorrhaging. The serum biological markers are unreliable, and their detection requires a long time intervals for result. An early diagnosis is very important and prompts the clinical management of the condition.

Study design and results.?We present here a noninvasive method (time frequency, entropy) to analyze heart rate variability (HRV). 3D-Spectrogram and entropy were derived from the RR interval of two pregnant subjects with AFE and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) survived after delivering normal babies admitted to the Taiwan Seventh-day Adventists Hospital, and the entropy values were compared with those of 105 healthy pregnant subjects in the same hospital.

Conclusions.?We show that these methods can be successfully applied to the diagnosis of AFE and predict the prognosis of DIC. We also show that CT scans can be applied to the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism, eliminating the need to pathology.  相似文献

塔中沙漠地区地表广泛分布的条带状沙丘,对地震资料采集品质产生了很大的影响。区内各种类型沙丘产生的各类干扰在一定程度上影响了地震资料的信噪比。针对塔中沙漠低信噪比地震资料开展了地表一致性全三维振幅保真处理,主要包括 折射波层析反演静校正技术、系列去噪技术、稳健地表一致性反褶积、加权最小平方拉冬变换压制多次波等技术。处理研究应用结果改善了该区的地震资料品质和成像效果,为提高塔中沙漠低信噪比地震资料储层预测精度和烃类检测可靠性提供有力支撑。  相似文献

Background The diagnosis of malignant melanoma is based upon the histological evaluation of the lesion. As such, the morphological interpretation relies on the expertise of a dermatopathologist. Infrared microimaging is emerging as a new powerful tool to investigate tissue biochemistry. Infrared spectra probe the biochemical constitution of the sample and are real tissue‐specific spectroscopic fingerprints. Objectives To assess the potential of infrared microimaging to aid in the analysis of tissue sections from primary cutaneous melanomas. Methods Ten samples of melanoma sections from the main histological subtypes were investigated using infrared microimaging combined with multivariate statistical analyses. Results This methodology yielded highly contrasted colour‐coded images that permitted to highlight tissue architecture without any staining. It was possible to discriminate tumour areas from normal epidermis automatically, and intratumoral heterogeneity as revealed by our approach was correlated with the aggressiveness of the tumour. Conclusions This proof‐of‐concept study shows that infrared microimaging could help in the diagnosis of primary cutaneous melanoma.  相似文献

目的:探讨美沙酮维持治疗患者维持康复期角色转换技能训练对社会功能的影响。方法:对维持期158例美沙酮维持治疗患者及家属随机分为研究组(80例)和对照组(78例),研究组进行为期1年的角色转换技能训练,采用社会功能缺陷评定量表(SDSS)和自编角色调查表(sRI),分别于6个月、12个月后进行随访评定。结果:入组时两组SDSS和SRI评定差异无显著性(P〉0.05),6个月、12个月随访时SDSS总分研究组[(4.56±1.82)分;(3.58±1.22)分]显著低于对照组[(10.42±3.86)分;(9.23±3.91)分】,差异有显著性(P〈0.01):研究组6个月、12个月随访角色退却分别为45例(56.2%);51例(63.7%),对照组分别为20例(25.6%);21例(26.9%),明显优于对照组(P〈0.01)。结论:角色转换技能训练能有效的改善维持期患者的社会功能,降低残疾程度。  相似文献

AIM: To analyze the accuracy of short-term bio-impedance as a means of measuring gastric motility. METHODS: We evaluated differences in the shortterm electrical bio-impedance signal from the gastric region in the following conditions: (1) fasting state, (2) after the administration of metoclopramide (a drug that induces an increase in gastric motility) and (3) after food ingestion in 23 healthy volunteers. We recorded the real component of the electrical impedance signal from the gastric region for 1000 s. We performed a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on this data and then compared the signal among the fasting, medicated, and postprandial conditions using the median of the area under the curve, the relative area under the curve and the main peak activity. RESULTS: The median of the area under the curve of the frequency range in the region between 2-8 cycles per minute (cpm) decreased from 4.7 cpm in the fasting condition to 4.0 cpm in the medicated state (t = 3.32, P = 0.004). This concurred with the decrease seen in the relative area under the FFT curve in the region from 4 to 8 cpm from 38.3% to 26.6% (t = 2.81, P = 0.012) and the increase in area in the region from 2 to 4 cpm from 22.4% to 27.7%, respectively (t = -2.5, P = 0.022). Finally the main peak position also decreased in the region from 2 to 8 cpm. Main peak activity in the fasting state was 4.72 cpm and declined to 3.45 cpm in the medicated state (t = 2.47, P = 0.025). There was a decrease from the fasting state to the postprandial state at 3.02 cpm (t = 4.0, P = 0.0013). CONCLUSION: Short-term electrical bio-impedance can assess gastric motility changes in individuals experiencing gastric stress by analyzing the area medians and relative areas under the FFT curve.  相似文献

在微电极导向的立体定向手术治疗帕金森病中,依据神经元的自发放电特征,对微电极定位,由于细胞放电信号频率成份复杂,噪声干扰严重,基线漂移大,从微电极记录中很难识别出神经元的放电。为此提出一种新的非线性方法提取神经元放电,利用多分辨小竣变换对信号分解,对有用信息分量系数平方,再对信号重构。对112个病人的放电记录处理结果表明,该方法能有效地提取出细胞放电波形,剔除噪声。  相似文献
