Correction of keratoconus with rigid gas-permeable contact lenses

This study analyzed the feasibility of fitting keratoconus-affected corneas with nonkeratoconus rigid gas-permeable (RGP) contact lenses. We retrospectively studied patients with a diagnosis of keratoconus in the past 10 years who were fitted successfully with nonkeratoconus RGP lenses by the same physician. Results confirmed nonkeratoconus RGP lenses as the first-line correction tool. Additionally, we found a simple equation to speed the choice of the base curves of the lenses. The authors have stated that they do not have a significant financial interest or other relationship with any product manufacturer or provider of services discussed in this article.     

Pediatric urinary tract infection

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most common and serious infections among pediatric patients in the emergency department. Detection of UTI requires a systematic approach to urine testing and an understanding of the limitations to common screening tests. Proper culturing techniques are essential to the diagnosis. Accurate diagnosis and prompt treatment can reduce morbidity associated with UTIs.

信息素养是信息意识、信息需求动力、信息工具和信息来源以及信息评估、吸收与利用有机结合而获得的一种综合能力。作为与学生长期接触的专业课教师，应该从专业课的教学环节渗透信息素养教育，实践证明，寓信息素养教育于专业基础课的教学之中是高校医学生信息素养教育的一个重要组成部分，只要做得自然而得法，是深受学生欢迎的，也是行之有效的。     

残存指异位再植重建拇指功能

目的 应用残存指异位再植重建拇指,并观察其疗效.方法 对17例拇、手指毁损伤并皮肤缺损者,将残存指异位再植至拇指位置,同时行皮瓣移植修复虎口及皮肤缺损创面,重建拇指功能.术后进行系统的康复锻炼.结果 17例异位再植指全部存活.术后随访1～5年,手功能恢复按中华医学会手外科学会上肢部分功能评定试用标准评定:优3例,良11例,可3例;优良率为82.4%.结论 利用残存指异位再植的方法重建拇指功能,术后获得了良好的效果.     

硬膜外腔注射脉络宁对脊神经根炎大鼠血清中PRA和AT-Ⅱ的影响

目的:通过大鼠脊神经根炎模型,观察硬膜外腔注射脉络宁对血浆肾素活性(PRA)和血管紧张素(AT-Ⅱ)的影响.方法:用0.5%福尔马林浸泡的直径为0.5 cm的定量滤纸片作为致炎物,复制大鼠脊神经根炎模型.将动模随机分为5组,A组(正常组);B组(假手术组);C组(模型组)、M组(脉络宁组)和L组(利多卡因组).每只大鼠从硬膜外注药0.6 mL/kg,每4 d给药1次,一共给药4次.术后第18 d取血2 mL,然后用放射免疫分析法(RIA)进行PRA和AT-Ⅱ的测定.结果:C组PRA和AT-Ⅱ含量显著高于A组、B组、M组和L组(P＜0.01);硬膜外注入脉络宁和利多卡因可使血清PRA和AT-Ⅱ含量下降,两组比较无显著性差异(P＞0.05).结论:硬膜外腔注射脉络宁使药物能够高效快速地发挥作用,促进了炎性神经根的修复.     

Clinical report of cervical arthroplasty in management of spondylotic myelopathy in Chinese
