Treatment of suppurative coxitis

An experience with the treatment of purulent coxitis in 56 patients is described. Acute coxitis was treated by arthrotomy, sequestrectomy and antibacterial therapy. Chronic forms of osteoarthritis consisted in the surgical treatment of the purulent focus and filling the cotyloid cavity with a muscular flap or the proximal end of the femoral bone.

Combined autoalloplasty of the Achilles tendon

A method of combined alloplasty of old injuries of the Achilles tendon is described. The method is based on the use of the allogenic Achilles tendon and autotransplant cut from the tendinous strained musculus gastrocnemius. Operations were performed in 22 patients. The results were good in all the cases. This method is recommended for the treatment of fresh and old ruptures of the Achilles tendon with a big diastasis between its ends.     

Clinical evaluation of the condition of patients with ileostomy operated on for diffuse polyposis of the large intestine

The work gives a clinical assessment of the state of 116 patients with ileostoma after radical surgery for diffuse polyposis of the colon. Metabolic disorders were noted in 40-50% of the patients with ileostoma for a long time after surgery. More than 60% of the patients do not participate in socially useful labor being the 1 and 2nd group invalids. Persons with ileostoma need dispensary observation, treatment at the hospital including therapeutic measures and reconstructive-restorative operations.
