The correction of a high ridge and bridge of the nose]

The proposed method for correcting congenital deformations of the nose is less traumatic and its cosmetic results are more stable. The procedure is as follows. After endonasal dissection and wide stratification of the skin of the ridge and bridge of the nose, the osseocartilagenous protrusion of the ridge and the bridge are removed not by depression, but by resection and removal with subsequent bilateral paramedial and transverse-lateral osteotomy of the nasal bones and their mobilization into a proper position. The method may be used for correcting a high ridge of the nose in any of its deformations: an osseocartilagenous protrusion, high wide ridge, uneven ridge after an injury, etc.

In the process of experimental studies on 28 cadavers there has been stated the value of traction of the musculus quadriceps femoris, musculus triceps brachii, musculus gluteus medius, musculus peroneus brevis and calculated their arithmetical means. In the work there has been proven dependence between the muscle traction value and anthropometric data of the limb segment and the possibility of its calculation by means of the proposed formula. In the clinical practice in case of fractures of bones of kneecap, tip of the elbow, greater trochanter, base of the V metatarsal bone there has been substantiated an expediency of application of osteosynthesis by means of the octahedral wire cerclage with measured force of the fractured fragment compression, neutralizing the force of dysalignment.     

Clinico-genetic parallels in infectious inflammatory diseases of the lungs

Investigation of the blood genetic markers ADB, Rh, Hp and Tr in 186 patients with chronic infectious inflammatory diseases of the lung revealed a significant increase in the blood group B(III), Rh- and phenotype Hp 2-2. It is proposed to consider the association of the blood group B(III), Rh- and Hp 2-2. as an unfavourable prognostic sign of infectious inflammatory diseases of the lung.     

Multiple primary cancer of the large intestine in patients with diffuse polyposis

Primary multiple cancer of the colon was diagnosed in 116 out of 636 (18.2%) cases of diffuse polyposis of the organ. Cancer was more likely to develop in patients with proliferative forms of diffuse colonic polyposis (97.4%). Surgical procedure was determined by tumor site and extent of polyposis.
