Successful direct recycling routes are known for both Nd–Fe–B permanent magnets and Sm–Co permanent magnets. Often the magnets are coated by a nickel–copper–nickel coating to prevent corrosion of Nd–Fe–B magnets and chipping of Sm–Co magnets. However, this coating does not contribute to the magnetic properties and only ends up as a contamination in the recycled magnet powder, which in turn dilutes the magnet alloy and reduces the magnetic performance. One solution is the addition of virgin magnet alloy to the recycled powder, but this is not the best option from a sustainable point of view. Another option is to remove the coating prior to the magnet recycling. We developed a solvometallurgical process for removal of the metallic coating prior to direct recycling. In particular, a mixture of bromine in organic solvents was found to be very selective in the removal of the nickel–copper–nickel coating from both Nd–Fe–B permanent magnets and Sm–Co permanent magnets, without codissolution of the magnet alloy.

Rare-earth permanent magnets were treated with Br2 in organic solvents to remove the Ni–Cu–Ni coating prior to direct magnet recycling by hydrogen decrepitation.  相似文献

Objective

The aim of this study was to investigate in detail the effect of gadolinium contrast on diffusion tensor imaging scans. As the present literature offers conflicting results, we have included a large selection of indices in the analysis.

Materials and methods

Sixteen patients harboring an intra-axial contrast enhancing brain tumor were included in this study. Two diffusion tensor imaging scans were performed—one natively, and the second following a gadolinium contrast agent application. Maps of the invariant indices fractional anisotropy (FA), linear, planar, and spherical indices, trace, eigenvalues λ1, λ2, λ3 as well as of the components of the diffusion tensor matrix Dxx, Dyy, Dzz, Dxy, Dxz and Dyz were co-registered and compared statistically with matching ROI pairs in the contrast enhancing areas, peritumoral edema and the normal appearing white matter.

Results

We have observed a significant increase in the FA and disproportional decrease of the eigenvalues in the post-contrast scans. In accordance with these findings, the spherical index was decreased and the linear and planar indices were increased. There was a significant decrease of all diagonal components of the diffusion tensor matrix. These changes have been strongest in the contrast enhancing areas, but there were also significant changes in the peritumoral edema and the normal appearing white matter.

Conclusion

Diffusion tensor imaging scans performed after gadolinium contrast agent administration may display artificially increased FA values due to disproportional changes of the measured eigenvalues. The distortion of the diffusion measurement is strongest in, but not limited to the contrasting areas.  相似文献

Tolerance induction protocols have been successfully tested in animal models, yet their compatibility with immunosuppressive drugs remains to be fully elucidated. Our own previous data have indicated that cyclosporine A (CsA) affects the balance of effector and regulatory mechanisms with low-dose CsA doses promoting hyporesponsiveness. Here, we present a fully mismatched rat kidney model in which low-dose CsA treatment induces donor hyporesponsiveness to secondary renal allografts. Lewis recipients of DA kidney grafts received low, medium or high doses of CsA × 10 days. By 30 days, the primary transplant was removed and a second transplant of donor origin was engrafted. Following low-dose CsA, but not high-dose CsA treatment of the primary recipient, secondary transplants were accepted long-term in the absence of immunosuppression. Regulatory T-cell function was unimpaired and independent of the CyA dosage. Of note, low-dose CsA significantly reduced alloantibody titers in primary recipients. Adoptive transfer of graft infiltrating cells or splenocytes from hyporesponsive recipients supported long-term acceptance of donor kidney allografts. These results demonstrate a dose-dependent and transferable "pro-tolerogenic" effect of low-dose CsA treatment. This model is of clinical relevance to test the interference of CsA with tolerance induction in the absence of additional immunosuppression.  相似文献

Elevation of liver transaminase levels is a frequent observation during systemic infections. The aim of our study was to investigate liver damage during pandemic 2009 influenza A/H1N1 infection in comparison with seasonal influenza. Serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) were significantly higher in patients with pandemic influenza compared to seasonal influenza, which was strongly correlated with hypoxia. Moreover, a positive correlation between C-reactive protein and serum GGT, alkaline phosphatase, and lactate dehydrogenase was noticed. Our findings support the hypothesis that the pandemic 2009 influenza A/H1N1 is an illness with a significant immune response to infection leading to hepatocellular injury.  相似文献

Objectives  

Health utility combines health related quality of life and mortality to produce a generic outcome measure reflecting both morbidity and mortality. It has not been widely used as an outcome measure in evaluations of emergency care and little is known about the feasibility of measurement, typical values obtained or baseline factors that predict health utility.
