The application of direct metal laser sintering renders it possible to manufacture models with complex geometries. However, there are certain limits to the application of this method connected with manufacturing thin-walled cuboidal elements, as well as cylinders and holes with small diameters. The principal objective of the research was to determine the accuracy of manufacturing geometries with small cross-sections and the possibility of application in heat exchangers that are radiators with radially arranged ribs. To that end, four specimens were designed and manufactured; their geometries of representations assumed for the purpose of research (analysis) changed dimensions within the following scope: 10–0.1 mm. The specimens to be applied in the research were manufactured with 17-4 PH stainless steel (1.4542) with the application of 3D-DMLS printing and an EOS M270 printer. The measurement of accuracy was performed with the application of an optical stereomicroscope (KERN OZL-466). In addition to that, research into the chemical composition of the material, as well as the size of spherical agglomerates, was conducted with the application of a scanning electron microscope. The analysis of the chemical composition was conducted as well (after the sintering process). The analysis of the results based on the values received by means of measurements of the manufactured geometries was divided into three parts. Based on this, it is possible to conclude that the representation of models manufactured with the application of DMLS was comparable with the assumptions, and that the deviations between a nominal dimension and that received in the course of the research were within the following scope: 0–0.1 mm. At the final stage of research and based on the received results, two heat exchangers were manufactured.  相似文献

The article presents the influence of mechanical alloying and plastic consolidation on the resistance to arc erosion of the composite Ag–Re material against the selected contact materials. The following composites were selected for the tests: Ag90Re10, Ag95Re5, Ag99Re1 (bulk chemical composition). Ag–Re materials were made using two methods. In the first, the materials were obtained by mixing powders, pressing, sintering, extrusion, drawing, and die forging, whereas, in the second, the process of mechanical alloying was additionally used. The widely available Ag(SnO2)10 and AgNi10 contact materials were used as reference materials. The reference AgNi10 material was made by powder metallurgy in the process of mixing, pressing, sintering, extrusion, drawing, and die forging, while the Ag(SnO2)10 composite was obtained by spraying AgSniBi alloy with water, and then the powder was pressed, oxidized internally, sintered, extruded into wire, and drawn and die forged. The tests of electric arc resistance were carried out for loads with direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). For alternating current (I = 60 A, U = 230 V), 15,000 switching cycles were made, while, for constant current 50,000 (I = 10 A, U = 550 V). A positive effect of the mechanical alloying process and the addition of a small amount of rhenium (1% by mass) on the spark erosion properties of the Ag–Re contact material was found. When DC current of 10 A was used, AgRe1 composite was found to be more resistant than commonly used contact materials (AgNi10 and Ag(SnO2)10).  相似文献

Laulimalide, a cancer chemotherapeutic in preclinical development, has a unique binding site located on two adjacent β‐tubulin units between tubulin protofilaments of a microtubule. Our extended protein model more accurately mimics the microtubule environment, and together with a 135 ns molecular dynamics simulation, identifies a new binding mode for laulimalide, which differs from the modes presented in work using smaller protein models. The new laulimalide–residue interactions that are computationally revealed explain the contacts observed via independent mass shift perturbation experiments. The inclusion of explicit solvent shows that many laulimalide–tubulin interactions are water mediated. The new contacts between the drug and the microtubule structure not only improve our understanding of laulimalide binding but also will be essential for efficient derivatization and optimization of this prospective cancer chemotherapy agent. Observed changes in secondary protein structure implicate the S7–H9 loop (M–loop) and H1′–S2 loop in the mechanism by which laulimalide stabilizes microtubules to exert its cytotoxic effects.  相似文献

The purpose of this work was to systematically assess the distribution of thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) properties along the length of crystals grown by the micro-pulling-down method, in relation to the microstructure and distribution of activators. We analyzed lithium magnesium phosphate (LiMgPO4; LMP) crystals doped with terbium (Tb; 0.8 mol%) or with a combination of thulium (Tm; 0.8 mol% or 1.2 mol%) and boron (B; 10 mol%). Crystals of several centimeters in length and 3 mm in diameter were cut into 20–40 slices, depending on length. For each sample, TL glow curves and OSL decay curves were examined. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to assess the microstructure and elemental composition of several selected samples. Two-dimensional TL readouts were performed to identify the areas with higher and lower signal emission. Our study showed that there may be significant differences not only in LMP sensitivity along the crystal’s axis but also on the surface of the slice. The distribution of activators varies depending on the type of crystals and strongly affects luminescence properties.  相似文献

The modification of commercial silica with solutions of NH4F or NH4Cl salts, followed by thermal treatment, enabled generation of the acidic sites in SiO2 and changed its textural properties. The use of ammonium salts solution also caused the generation of additional porosity. Using NH4F solution caused significant decrease in the specific surface area and the increase in the average pore diameter. The number and strength of resulting acid sites depend on the nature of anion in the applied ammonium salt and the concentration of salt solution. It has been found that the sample treated with NH4F presented higher total acidity (TPD–NH3) and the amount as well as the strength of acid sites increased with the concentration of the used modifier. As modified amorphous SiO2 materials used as a support for iridium (1 wt %, Ir(acac)3) nanoparticles permitted to obtain highly active catalysts for toluene hydrogenation under atmospheric pressure. The highest activity (expressed as the apparent rate and TOF) was obtained for iridium catalysts supported on silica modified by NH4F with the highest acidity. The modification of silica with NH4F favors the generation of centers able to adsorb toluene, which results in higher activity of this catalyst.  相似文献

Our team has been working for some time on designing a new kind of biomimetic fixation of resurfacing endoprostheses, in which the innovative multi-spiked connecting scaffold (MSC-Scaffold) that mimics the natural interface between articular cartilage and periarticular trabecular bone in human joints is the crucial element. This work aimed to develop a numerical model enabling the design of the considered joint replacement implant that would reflect the mechanics of interacting biomaterials. Thus, quantitative micro-CT analysis of density distribution in bone material during the embedding of MSC-Scaffold in periarticular bone was applied. The performed numerical studies and corresponding mechanical tests revealed, under the embedded MSC-Scaffold, the bone material densification affecting its mechanical properties. On the basis of these findings, the built numerical model was modified by applying a simulated insert of densified bone material. This modification led to a strong correlation between the re-simulation and experimental results (FVU = 0.02). The biomimetism of the MSC-Scaffold prototype that provided physiological load transfer from implant to bone was confirmed based on the Huber–von Mises–Hencky (HMH) stress maps obtained with the validated finite element (FE) model of the problem. The micro-CT bone density assessment performed during the embedding of the MSC-Scaffold prototype in periarticular bone provides insight into the mechanical behaviour of the investigated implant-bone system and validates the numerical model that can be used for the design of material and geometric features of a new kind of resurfacing endoprostheses fixation.  相似文献

We present two patients with aortic valve disease who developed acute infective endocarditis. In both patients the disease started with infection of the upper respiratory tract. The patients were treated with antibiotics due to pneumonia. The diagnosis of infective endocarditis was established 4 months and 9 weeks after the onset of infection. The first patient died whereas the second underwent successful aortic valve replacement.  相似文献

The dissolution of molecular nitrogen in Ga and Fe was investigated by ab initio calculations and some complementary experiments. It was found that the N bonding inside these solvents is fundamentally different. For Ga, it is between Ga4s and Ga4p and N2p states whereas for Fe this is by N2p to Fe4s, Fe4p and Fe3d states. Accordingly, the energy of dissolution of N2 for arbitrarily chosen starting atomic configurations was 0.535 eV/mol and −0.299 eV/mol for Ga and Fe, respectively. For configurations optimized with molecular dynamics, the difference between the corresponding energy values, 1.107 eV/mol and 0.003 eV/mol, was similarly large. Full thermodynamic analysis of chemical potential was made employing entropy-derived terms in a Debye picture. The entropy-dependent terms were obtained via a normal conditions path to avoid singularity of ideal gas entropy at zero K. Nitrogen solubility as a function of temperature and N2 pressure was evaluated, being much higher for Fe than for Ga. For T=1800 K and p=104 bar, the N concentration in Ga was 3×103 at. fr. whereas for Fe, it was 9×102 at. fr. in very good agreement with experimental data. It indicates that liquid Fe could be a prospective solvent for GaN crystallization from metallic solutions.  相似文献

In the general population, the lowest mortality risk is considered to be for the body mass index (BMI) range of 20–24.9 kg/m2. In chronic diseases (chronic kidney disease, chronic heart failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) the best survival is observed in overweight or obese patients. Recently above-mentioned phenomenon, called obesity paradox, has been described in patients with coronary artery disease. Our aim was to analyze the relationship between BMI and total mortality in patients after acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in the context of obesity paradox. We searched scientific databases for studies describing relation in body mass index with mortality in patients with ACS. The study selection process was performed according to PRISMA statement. Crude mortality rates, odds ratio or risk ratio for all-cause mortality were extracted from articles and included into meta-analysis. 26 studies and 218,532 patients with ACS were included into meta-analysis. The highest risk of mortality was found in Low BMI patients—RR 1.47 (95 % CI 1.24–1.74). Overweight, obese and severely obese patients had lower mortality compared with those with normal BMI–RR 0.70 (95 % CI 0.64–0.76), RR 0.60, (95 % CI 0.53–0.68) and RR 0.70 (95 % CI 0.58–0.86), respectively. The obesity paradox in patients with ACS has been confirmed. Although it seems to be clear and quite obvious, outcomes should be interpreted with caution. It is remarkable that obese patients had more often diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension, but they were younger and had less bleeding complications, which could have influence on their survival.  相似文献
