Asymmetric depression in the serum level of IgG subclasses in patients with nephrotic syndrome.

Thirty-three nephrotic patients were studied for IgG-subclass levels in matched pairs of serum and urinary specimens. Levels in the serum were compared with those found in the sera of non-nephrotic control children and normal adults. Results have shown an asymmetric depression in the serum level of certain IgG subclasses in some patients with minimal-change nephrotic syndrome, focal glomerulosclerosis, and proliferative glomerulonephritis, indicating that the urinary loss of IgG alone cannot account for the low blood levels of this immunoglobulin class in these conditions.     

Complications of sentinel lymph node biopsy for melanoma – A systematic review of the literature

Purpose

The complications reported after sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) for melanoma is highly variable in the worldwide literature; the overall complication rate varies between 1.8% and 29.9%. With heterogeneous reporting of morbidity data, no ‘average’ complication rates of this procedure have been reported. This systematic review aims to determine the complications rates associated with SLNB.

Solitary plasmocytoma of frontal bone presenting as an asymptomatic forehead lump

Solitary plasmocytoma of bone is a rare type of plasma cell tumor. We present a case of a solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the frontal bone presenting as an asymptomatic forehead lump with clinically benign characteristics. This case highlights the need for a high index of suspicion when dealing with enlarging subcutaneous lumps of the forehead and scalp. The significance of this lies in the appropriate sequencing of investigations and the implementation of the necessary treatment regimen.     

双波长薄层扫描法测定痛得安胶囊中新乌头碱的含量

目的：建立痛得安胶囊中新乌头碱的含量测定方法。方法：采用双波长薄层扫描法,以正己烷－乙酸乙酯－无水乙醇－氨水（１２：８：２．５：０．５）为展开剂,碘化饿钾试液为显色剂,测定该制剂中新乌头碱的含量。结果：线性范围为１～６ｕｇ。平均回收率为９４．８０％,ＲＳＤ为２．０３％。结论：本法操作简便。结果可靠。实用,适合该制剂中新乌头碱的含量测定。
