Catheter-induced coronary artery spasms are rare during diagnostic coronary angiography, and they occur more often after PTCA because of local vessel wall injury. These spasms are rapidly reversible after administration of nitroglycerine and are normally no cause of serious complications. We report about a catheter-induced occlusive spasm of the entire left anterior descending and circumflex coronary artery in a 56-year-old patient with coronary double-vessel disease, 70% restenosis of the LAD, and a history of two coronary angiographic procedures and one PTCA without any complication. The spasm occurred immediately after the intubation of the left main stem with a 9F PTCA guiding catheter before the coronary guide wire or balloon was advanced into the LAD. Cardiac resuscitation was necessary due to acute left heart failure. The spasm was spontaneously reversible, but reproducible. Therefore, life-threatening coronary artery spasm can occur during coronary angiography or PTCA, but the tendency of spontaneous spasm relief seems to be high.  相似文献

A cost-effective computer program for district hospitals has been developed to process data from anesthetic charts. Apart from monthly and annual statistics relevant to clinical anesthesia and hospital administration, the described system allows free data handling of all material stored in the data base. Next to acute respiratory diseases accounting for about 80% of all cases of notifiable infectious diseases acute gastrointestinal diseases with 12% are the group second in importance. Since many years the number of reported cases with diarrhoea is increasing. The aetiology of merely a small part of these cases (less than 5%) is being determined. Next to the Salmonellae at present Campylobacter species are detected most frequently. The percentage of viral gastroenteritis is under-estimated considerably on account of insufficient diagnostics. Most important for improving the situation is the improvement of hygienic conditions in kindergartens, crèches and nursing homes; in food processing plants and kitchens as well as the reduction of human pathogens-particularly Salmonellae and Campylobacter-spreading in livestock.  相似文献

For imaging of neuroblastoma and phaeochromocytoma, [123I]meta-iodobenzylguanidine ([123I]mIBG) is routinely used, whereas [18F]6-fluorodopamine ([18F]6-FDA) is sporadically applied for positron emission tomography in pheochromocytoma. Both substances are taken up by catecholamine transporters (CATs). In competition, some other cell types are able to take up catecholamines and related compounds probably by organic cation (OCT) [extraneuronal monoamine (EMT)] transporters (OCT1, OCT2, OCT3=EMT). In this study, we investigated the uptake of radioiodine-labeled meta-iodobenzylguanidine (mIBG) as well as [3H]dopamine (mimicring 6-fluorodopamine) and [3H]noradrenaline. SK-N-SH (neuroblastoma) and PC-12 (phaeochromocytoma) cells were used and compared with HEK-293 cells transfected with OCT1, OCT2 and OCT3, respectively. In order to gain a more selective uptake in CAT expressing tumor cells, different specific inhibitors were measured. Uptake of mIBG into OCT-expressing cells was similar or even better as into both CAT-expressing cell lines, whereas dopamine and noradrenaline uptake was much lower in OCT-expressing cells. In presence of corticosterone (f.c. 10?4 M], catecholamine and mIBG uptake into SK-N-SH and PC-12 cells was only slightly reduced. In contrast, this process was significantly inhibited in OCT2 and OCT3 transfected HEK-293 as well as in Caki-1 cells, which naturally express OCT3. We conclude that the well-known corticosteroid corticosterone might be used in combination with [18F]6-FDA or [123I]mIBG to improve specific imaging of neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma and to reduce irradiation dose to nontarget organs in [131I]mIBG treatment.  相似文献

Dual-energy radiographic absorptiometry (DRA) was used to measure the bone mineral content and area density of lumbar vertebrae (L2-L3) in 11 cadavers. These data were subsequently compared with measured ash content and density. Excellent correlation was obtained between bone mineral content measured with DRA and ash weight (r = .963, P less than .0001). The accuracy error in determining mineral content in lumbar vertebrae with DRA was about 9%. In addition, strong correlation was observed between bone mineral density measured with DRA and ash density (r = .881, P less than .0001).  相似文献

The T(c)-cell response to ectromelia virus infection was studied in BALB/c-H-2(db) mice which carry a loss mutation in the H-2D region that results in the absence from cell surfaces of a molecule (D’) bearing certain public H-2 specificities. When infected, these mice showed a poor response of T(c) cells that recognize H-2D(d) plus virus-specific determinants on infected macrophage targets, but gave a normal response to H-2K d plus virus-specific antigens. However, their own infected macrophages do display wild-type antigenic patterns involving virus and H-2D(d) since they were killed as efficiently as wild-type (BALB/c,H- 2(d))-infected cells by T(c) cells specific only for H-2D(d) plus viral antigens. When tested in vitro, infected BALB/c-H-2(db) cells stimulated a poor T(c)-cell response to H-2D plus virus-specific antigens, but stimulated a normal response (in comparison with infected BALB/c macrophages) to H-2K(d) plus viral antigens. Uninfected BALB/c-H-2(db) cells stimulated a normal T(c)-cell response to minor H antigens or trinitrophenyl in association with H-2D(d), thus suggesting that the defective response to infection may reside in a failure of the relevant H-2D(d) antigens of mutant cells to physically associate with viral antigens. Close association of viral and H-2D-coded molecules was also suggested by ability of specific anti-H-2K or -H-2D to partially block T(c)-cell-mediated lysis of infected targets. These results were interpreted to mean that H-2Dd-dependent, virus- immune T(c) cells recognized an antigenic pattern consisting of virus- specific and H-2D(d) determinants with the latter borne on an H-2D molecule carrying serologically-defined H-2D(d) private specificities. A second H-2D(d)-coded molecule (D’) was not required for recognition and lysis by activated T(c) cells, but was apparently necessary for efficient stimulation of precursor T(c) cells, perhaps by promoting appropriate physical association of viral and H-2D(d) molecules.  相似文献
