We have cloned a segment of the human gene encoding UDP-galactose translocator by genetic complementation of its defective mutant in mouse FM3A cells. Chromosome mapping using fluorescentin situ hybridization revealed that the cloned gene hybridized to the Xp11.23-11.23 region of the X chromosome. This region is shared by the locus of Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, an X-linked recessive immunodeficiency disorder, characterized by defective sugar chains on cell surface components. Genetic and phenotypic similarities suggest a possible link between UDP-galactose translocator and the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS).  相似文献

Two novel bis-labdanic diterpenoids named calcaratarin D and calcaratarin E were isolated from the rhizomes of Alpinia calcarata. Their structures were elucidated as a pair of stereoisomers on the basis of the spectral evidence. 2D NMR techniques including (1)H- (1)H COSY, HMQC, HMBC, NOESY spectra and HRFABMS were extensively applied to establish the structures. The two bis-labdanic diterpenoids showed cytotoxic activity against human KB cells in vitro.  相似文献

Post-mortem intraocular findings in two autopsy cases with traumatic intracranial haemorrhage were obtained using an ophthalmological endoscope. The endoscopy results clearly revealed the presence of intraocular haemorrhages and papilledema caused by intracranial haemorrhage. Post-mortem ophthalmological endoscopy offers several benefits. First, post-mortem intraocular findings can be directly observed in corpses with post-mortem clouding of the cornea. Secondly, the endoscopy only requires a 0.9 mm incision in the sclera and does not require the removal of the eye from the corpse, a procedure that should be avoided for ethical and cosmetic reasons. Thus, post-mortem opthalmological endoscopy is a useful method for obtaining intraocular findings in autopsies.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to evaluate the correlation between improvements in serial images obtained by SPECT imaging with Tc-99m MIBI (MIBI) and I-123 BMIPP (BMIPP) and the recovery of cardiac function in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients after reperfusion therapy. METHODS: Twenty five patients who were admitted to the emergency room within 24 hours after the onset of the first event of AMI were enrolled in this study. The culprit coronary arteries were identified by CAG and were treated with direct percutaneous transluminal coronary angiography (PTCA), followed by stent implantation. To determine risk areas, initial image at the onset was acquired by the freeze method, in which MIBI was injected before the treatment and the image was collected after the reperfusion therapy. After the reperfusion treatment was completed, MIBI SPECT images at rest were performed on days 7 and 60. Both early and late images, including gated SPECT images were acquired after 30-60 minutes and 6 hours post injection, respectively. In addition, BMIPP SPECT images at rest were obtained 30 minutes after injection of 148 MBq BMIPP on days 7 and 60 (BMIPP image). The obtained image was divided into 48 segments and percent uptake of each segment was calculated. The number of abnormal areas (NAA) was defined as the segment with a % uptake less than 60% of normal uptake, and the change of NAA over time was evaluated. RESULTS: The NAA on the MIBI-early image significantly improved between thepre image and the day 7 image (p < 0.001), but no similar improvement was observed between day 7 and day 60. On the other hand, the NAA of the MIBI-delayed image did not significantly improve up to day 7, but a slight improvement was observed on days 7 and 60 (p < 0.05). A significant improvement in the NAA of the BMIPP image was observed between day 7 and day 60, as shown in the delayed image (p < 0.05). An excellent correlation on the NAA between the MIBI-delayed image and the BMIPP image was observed with r = 0.983 (p < 0.001) at day 7 and r = 0.984 (p < 0.001) at day 60 resulting in a consistent diagnosis. Analysis of the myocardial function by means of gated SPECT indicated that the wall motion significantly improved as the myocardial perfusion improved up to day 7 and thereafter a steady improvement was observed up to day 60. The improvement in the NAA in MIBI-delayed images in the subacute phase (day 7) and in the chronic phase (day 60) as well as BMIPP images showed excellent correlation with the improvement in RWM and RWT (MIBI-delayed image: r = 0.550 (RWM), r = 0.647 (RWT)), (BMIPP image: r = 0.536 (RWM), r = 0.565 (RWT)). CONCLUSION: We conclude that insufficient ATP production caused by mitochondrial dysfunction in stunned myocardium is closely related to MIBI delayed and BMIPP image Furthermore, MIBI delayed imaging as well as BMIPP imaging will provide a clue to the state of stunned myocardium after reperfusion therapy in patients with AMI.  相似文献

We measured hair mercury concentration in Amerindians between 2004 and 2009 in Upper Maroni, French Guiana. Hair samples were collected from 387 residents (males: 153, females: 234). Average hair mercury concentration was high (males: 9.4 ppm, females: 9.9 ppm). We examined fish consumption by 37 residents. There was a significant correlation between hair mercury concentration and fish consumption. We also measured mercury concentration in polluted fish in upper reaches of the Maroni River. Muscle mercury concentrations were high in the fish. These results indicate that current high hair mercury concentrations in Amerindians remain linked to fish consumption.  相似文献

PURPOSE: Information concerning the amount and nature of target motion is essential for the determination of internal margin size. However, there are few published reports outlining the motion with heart and aortic pulsation. We introduce a method for three-dimensional radiation treatment planning (3D-RTP) by using electrocardiographically (ECG) gated spiral scanning with a four-section CT system. We describe a new approach to visualize internal organ motion resulting from cardiac motion with ECG gated multidetector row CT. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Five patients with lung or liver tumors were studied with a multidetector row CT system under shallow inspiration breath-holding. With retrospective ECG gating, only data acquired within a predefined interval of the cardiac cycle are used for image reconstruction. All reconstructed image data at diastolic and systolic phases of the cardiac cycle were transferred to the 3D-RTP system. The shift of the internal organs between the cardiac cycles was evaluated. RESULTS: Cardiac contraction influences anterior thorax, pulmonary peripheral vessels, and liver position, in addition to locations near the heart. Apparent movements more than 5 mm between diastolic and systolic phases were observed in the left ventricle, right atrium, and superior vena cava. Two-phase imaging was useful for showing the movement of internal organs during cardiac contraction under breath-holding. CONCLUSIONS: Spatial information using ECG-gated CT has the potential to determine the planning target volume of moving lung and liver tumors more precisely than conventional CT planning.  相似文献

Succeeding the previous report on antivirus activity of non immunized bovine colostrum immunoglobulin, we studied the bacteriostatic activity of the immunoglobulin, lactoferrin and lactoferrin Fe by using the automated antimicrobial susceptibility testing system. We have presented the representative positive and negative reactions. Then, we have reported that the immunoglobulin was effective in 10 of a total of 20 species which we examined. In some species, the lactoferrin was slightly more effective than the immunoglobulin was. These results indicated that the immunoglobulin, lactoferrin and lactoferrin Fe were useful for the bacteriostatic reaction.  相似文献
