ObjectiveThe aim was to compare coronary high-definition CT (HDCT) with standard-definition CT (SDCT) angiography as to radiation dose, image quality and accuracy.ResultsThe intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of measured vessel attenuation values in SDCT between the two radiologists was exceedingly good. The ICC was higher in HDCT. The radiation dose of HDCT was higher than that of SDCT. The mean tube current was 180 (mA) in HDCT and 147(mA) in SDCT with the same tube voltage (kVp). There was no significant difference between image quality.ConclusionHDCT has a higher radiation dose but has much more atenuation and the spatial resolution which improve measurement accuracy for imaging coronary arteries. 相似文献

Purpose
Retina is a unique part of the central nervous system (CNS) for visualizing the processes of axonal and neuronal degeneration. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) allows direct visualization and measurement of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, macular volume, and optic disc (OD) parameters. One of the disorders associated with atrophy in different brain regions is obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). In the present study, we aimed to determine OD and RNFL changes measured by OCT for investigating the progress of neurodegeneration development in OSAS, excluding all the other conditions that can directly affect RNFL thickness and optic nerve parameters.Methods
Both eyes of 101 patients with OSAS and 20 controls were investigated by OCT. Full-night polysomnography (PSG) and ophthalmologic examination including automated visual field (VF) examination and OCT were performed in all of the patients.Results
According to the OSAS grading, patients were grouped as mild (n?=?15), moderate (n?=?27), and severe (n?=?59). We found significant decrease in RNFL thickness only in the patients with severe OSAS compared with the other groups and decreased macular ganglion cell thickness in the severe OSAS group compared with the control group. VF parameters were significantly worsened in all the OSAS subgroups compared to the control group. We found different data such as normal or increased optic nerve parameters as result of subtle OD edema, which may mask possible peripapillar axonal loss.Conclusions
We think that evaluation of neurodegeneration in OSAS is not always possible by examining OD and RNFL because there are difficulties due to the confounding issues of cerebral atrophy and OD edema. 相似文献65.

Background
The anatomic and the kinematical relationships between the femur and the tibia have been previously examined in both normal and diseased knees. However, less attention has been directed to the effect of these relationships on the meniscal diseases. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the impact of femorotibial incongruence on both lateral and medial meniscal tears.Materials and methods
A total of 100 images obtained from MRI of 100 patients (39 males and 61 females) were included in the study. Diameters of the medial and the lateral femoral condyles, thicknesses of the menisci, and diameters of the medial and the lateral tibial articular surfaces were measured.Results
The medial meniscus tear was detected in 40 (40 %) patients. However, no lateral meniscus tear was found. Significant relationships were found between the diameters of the posterior medial femoral condyle and the medial tibial superior articular surface and between the diameters of the posterior lateral femoral condyle and the lateral tibial superior articular surface. The mean values for the diameter of the medial condyle of the femur, the lateral condyle of the femur, the medial superior articular surface of the tibia, and the lateral superior articular surface of the tibia were found to be significantly higher in cases with meniscus tear compared to cases without meniscus tear. However, no significant difference was present regarding the thicknesses of the medial and the lateral menisci. A positive relationship between the diameter of the posterior medial femoral condyle and the tibial medial superior articular surface was found in cases with (n = 40) (r 2 = 0.208, p = 0.003) and without tear (n = 60) (r 2 = 0.182, p = 0.001). In addition, a significant positive relationship was found between the diameter of the posterior medial femoral condyle and the medial tibial superior articular surface in cases with and without tear.Conclusion

Suppression of Aedes albopictus populations is a substantial challenge for mosquito control programs globally because juveniles of this species are found in numerous kinds of domestic artificial containers that are difficult to detect, access, and eliminate. We conducted a multi-year assessment of the effect of different interventions to control Ae. albopictus near the northernmost geographic boundary of the species in temperate North America and deployed an array of BG-Sentinel traps for adult surveillance. Here we present the results of a comparative examination of adult sex ratios in urban and suburban areas, shifts in sex ratios after control interventions, and a discussion of the critical drivers of population dynamics of Ae. albopictus in our area. We collected significantly more male mosquitoes in urban as compared to suburban areas in June through September, but not in May (p < 0.001). The higher number of male mosquitoes in urban areas could be attributed to a higher number of larval habitats within a closer proximity of the surveillance traps and the lower flight dispersal of males. Following application of adulticides in urban areas, Ae. albopictus male populations were reduced by 88% on average, which was higher than the 69% reduction in female populations. The higher reduction of male mosquitoes could be attributed to the smaller body mass of the males and their higher susceptibility to adulticides. The results of this study are directly relevant to the development of suitable control strategies that depend on manipulation of males, such as the sterile insect technique.
