Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is the most widely used silicon-based polymer due to its versatility and its various attractive properties. The fabrication of PDMS involves liquid phase cross-linking to obtain hydrophobic and mechanically flexible material in the final solid form. This allows to add various fillers to affect the properties of the resulting material. PDMS has a relatively low Thermal Conductivity (TC), in the order of 0.2 W/mK, which makes it attractive for thermal insulation applications such as sealing in construction. Although a further decrease in the TC of PDMS can be highly beneficial for such applications, most research on the thermal properties of PDMS composites have focused on fillers that increase the TC rather than decrease it. In the present work, we propose a simple and reliable method for making a PDMS-based composite material with significantly improved thermal insulation properties, by adding hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) to the mixture of the liquid base and the cross-linker (10:1 ratio), followed by degassing and heat-assisted crosslinking. We obtained a 31% reduction of thermal conductivity and a 60% increase in the elastic modulus of samples with HGM content of 17% by weight. At the same time, the sound insulation capacity of the PDMS-HGM composite is slightly decreased in comparison to pure PDMS, as a result of its lower density. Finally, the wettability of the samples had no dependence on HGM content.  相似文献

Functional neuroimaging results need to replicate to inform sound models of human social cognition and its neural correlates. Introspection, the capacity to reflect on one's thoughts and feelings, is one process required for normative social cognition and emotional functioning. Engaging in introspection draws on a network of brain regions including medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC), posterior cingulate cortex (PCC), middle temporal gyri (MTG), and temporoparietal junction (TPJ). Maturation of these regions during adolescence mirrors the behavioral advances seen in adolescent social cognition, but the neural correlates of introspection in adolescence need to replicate to confirm their generalizability and role as a possible mechanism. The current study investigated whether reflecting upon one's own feelings of sadness would activate and replicate similar brain regions in two independent samples of adolescents. Participants included 156 adolescents (50% female) from the California Families Project and 119 adolescent girls from the Pittsburgh Girls Study of Emotion. All participants completed the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) and underwent a functional magnetic resonance imaging scan while completing the same facial emotion‐processing task at age 16–17 years. Both samples showed similar whole‐brain activation patterns when engaged in sadness introspection and when judging a nonemotional facial feature. Whole‐brain activation was unrelated to ERQ scores in both samples. Neural responsivity to task manipulations replicated in regions recruited for socio‐emotional (mPFC, PCC, MTG, TPJ) and attention (dorsolateral PFC, precentral gyri, superior occipital gyrus, superior parietal lobule) processing. These findings demonstrate robust replication of neural engagement during sadness introspection in two independent adolescent samples.  相似文献

AIM:To study the inflammatory bowel disease-5 locus(IBD5)and interleukin-23 receptor(IL23R)gene variants in UC patients and test for gene-gene interaction.METHODS:The study population(n=625)was comprised of 320 unrelated ulcerative colitis(UC)patients with Caucasian origin and 316 age-and gendermatched,healthy controls.Five variants in the IBD5 locus(IGR2198a1 rs11739135,IGR2096a1 rs12521868,IGR2230a1 rs17622208,SLC22A4 rs1050152 and SLC22A5 rs2631367)and two of the IL23R gene(rs1004819,rs2201841)were analysed.PCR and restriction fragment length polymorphism methods were used for genotyping,the SLC22A4 rs1050152 genotypes were determined by direct sequencing.Interactions and specific genotype combinations of the seven variants were tested by binary logistic regression analysis.The IL23R genotypes were stratified by IBD5 genotypes for further interaction analyses.RESULTS:For the IL23R rs1004819 A allele we found significantly higher allele frequency(P=0.032)in UC patients compared to control subjects.The SNP rs1004819 showed significant association with UC risk for carriers(P=0.004,OR=1.606;95%CI:1.160-2.223)and the SNP rs2201841 for homozygotes(P=0.030,OR=1.983;95%CI:1.069-3.678).Individually none of the IBD5 markers conferred risk to UC development.There was no evidence for statistical interaction either between IBD5 loci and IL23R genes using logistic regression analysis.After genotype stratification,we could detect a positive association on the background of rs1004819 A allele for SLC22A4 T,SLC22A5 C,IGR2198a1 C or IGR2096a1 T allele,the highest OR was calculated in the presence of SLC22A4T allele(P=0.005,OR=2.015;95%CI:1.230-3.300).There was no association with UC for any combinations of rs1004819 and IGR2230a1.The IL23R rs2201841homozygous genotype and IBD5 carrier status together did not confer susceptibility for UC.CONCLUSION:The present study has shown that UC susceptibility genes are likely to act in a complex interactive manner similar to CD.  相似文献

Next-generation sequencing has revealed novel recurrent mutations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia, particularly in patients with aggressive disease. Here, we explored targeted re-sequencing as a novel strategy to assess the mutation status of genes with prognostic potential. To this end, we utilized HaloPlex targeted enrichment technology and designed a panel including nine genes: ATM, BIRC3, MYD88, NOTCH1, SF3B1 and TP53, which have been linked to the prognosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and KLHL6, POT1 and XPO1, which are less characterized but were found to be recurrently mutated in various sequencing studies. A total of 188 chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients with poor prognostic features (unmutated IGHV, n=137; IGHV3-21 subset #2, n=51) were sequenced on the HiSeq 2000 and data were analyzed using well-established bioinformatics tools. Using a conservative cutoff of 10% for the mutant allele, we found that 114/180 (63%) patients carried at least one mutation, with mutations in ATM, BIRC3, NOTCH1, SF3B1 and TP53 accounting for 149/177 (84%) of all mutations. We selected 155 mutations for Sanger validation (variant allele frequency, 10–99%) and 93% (144/155) of mutations were confirmed; notably, all 11 discordant variants had a variant allele frequency between 11–27%, hence at the detection limit of conventional Sanger sequencing. Technical precision was assessed by repeating the entire HaloPlex procedure for 63 patients; concordance was found for 77/82 (94%) mutations. In summary, this study demonstrates that targeted next-generation sequencing is an accurate and reproducible technique potentially suitable for routine screening, eventually as a stand-alone test without the need for confirmation by Sanger sequencing.  相似文献

From January 2003 to June 2006, 6 patients with leakage of the cervical esophagogastrostomy after esophagectomy and gastric pull-up underwent endoscopic stenting using the self-expandable covered tracheal type device. Anastomotic healing was satisfactory. Stent extraction was performed after an average interval of 91 days. Initial stent migration occurred in 2 patients and post-extraction stenosis developed in 3 patients. Insertion of a self-expandable covered metal tracheal stent represents a safe approach resulting in immediate closure and subsequent healing of cervical anastomotic leakage.  相似文献
