This article describes the current status of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy as well Relapse Prevention and Coping Skill approaches applied in drug abuse treatments. The objective is show a review about theories and technique used by Cognitive Therapy and others approaches derived that, specifically Relapse Prevention and Coping Skill Treatments. Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, Coping Skill, and Relapse Prevention are a short-time, goal-oriented and structured treatments. Thus, they assume a posture directive and active. We pointed out some difference between the theories about Cognitive Therapy, Relapse Prevention and Coping Skill. The Cognitive Therapy accentuated the focus in patients thought, feeling and circumstances that get in a dysfunctional behavioral. Relapse Prevention and Coping Skill are based in behavioral theories besides of the Cognitive. We, finally, look forward to introduce the lasted scientific finding to helpful the general psychiatric to improve the assistance in drug abuse treatment.  相似文献

PURPOSE: This study in Togo and Benin, West Africa, was aimed at measuring health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of people with epilepsy (PWE). METHODS: It was a cross-sectional study among 281 adult PWE in Togo and 215 in Benin matched with the same number of controls without epilepsy, using the Quality Of Life in Epilepsy Scale-31 (QOLIE-31). RESULTS: In Togo and Benin, controls had significantly better HRQOL (80.3+/-7.4, 72.2+/-12.7) than PWE (49.5+/-14.4, 52.1+/-33.4) according to the QOLIE-31 Overall score (P<0.0001). HRQOL was, in general, negatively correlated with a higher frequency of seizures and lack of treatment. CONCLUSION: Results call for specific management of epilepsy in PWE in Togo and Benin to improve their HRQOL.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to analyze the role of alpha1, alpha2-adrenoceptors, and the effects of losartan and PD123319 (selective ligands of the AT1 and AT2 angiotensin receptors, respectively) injected into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) on the diuresis, natriuresis, and kaliuresis induced by administration of adrenaline into the medial septal area (MSA). Male Holtzman rats with a stainless steel cannula implanted into the MSA and bilaterally into the PVN were used. The administration of adrenaline into the MSA increased in a dose-dependent manner the urine, sodium, and potassium excretions. The previous administration of prazosin (an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist) injected into the PVN abolished the above effects of adrenaline, whereas yohimbine (an alpha2-adrenoceptor antagonist) doesn't affect the diuresis, natriuresis, and kaliuresis induced by adrenaline. Pretreatment with losartan into the PVN decreased in a dose-dependent manner the urine, sodium, and potassium excretions induced by MSA administration of adrenaline (50 ng), while PVN PD123319 was without effect. These results indicate that urinary and electrolyte excretion effects induced by adrenaline into the MSA are mediated primarily by PVN AT1 receptors. However, the doses of losartan were more effective when combined with the doses of PD123319 than given alone, suggesting that the urinary, natriuretic, and kaliuretic effects of MSA adrenaline may involve activation of multiple angiotensin II receptors subtypes into the PVN.  相似文献

This case report describes the findings of a 45-year-old white woman from Brazil, who developed myalgia, fever and macular rash. She was diagnosed as having dengue, based on clinical manifestations and specific IgM titers. One week after the first symptoms of dengue, the patient developed muscle weakness, followed by tetraplegia with areflexia, and respiratory insufficiency. The electromyography had evidence of demyelinating neuropathy and the cerebrospinal fluid showed albuminocytologic dissociation. These neurologic findings were consistent with the diagnosis of Guillain-Barré syndrome. The patient was treated with immunoglobulin and metylprednisolone. Mechanical ventilation was started one week after hospital admission and maintained for four weeks. After six weeks of hospitalization the patient was discharged from the hospital on wheel chair, presenting mild muscle weakness and loss of patellar and ankle reflexes. When the patient was seen at the outpatient service three weeks after hospital discharge she was able to walk with help. This case report suggests a possible association between dengue and Guillain-Barré syndrome.  相似文献

Nucleus raphe magnus (NRM) is one of the cellular groups of the brainstem that is involved in the physiologic responses to hypoxia and contains nitric oxide (NO) synthase. In the present study, we assessed the role of NO pathway in the NRM on the hypoxic ventilatory response (HVR) and anapyrexia (a regulated decrease in body temperature). To this end, pulmonary ventilation (VE) and body temperature (Tb) of male Wistar rats were measured before and after microinjection of N-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA, a nonselective nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, 12.5 microg/0.1 microl) into the NRM, followed by hypoxia. Control rats received microinjection of saline. Under resting conditions, L-NMMA treatment did not affect pulmonary VE or Tb. Typical hypoxia-induced hyperventilation and anapyrexia were observed after saline treatment. L-NMMA into the NRM reduced the HVR but did not affect hypoxia-induced anapyrexia. In conclusion, the present study indicates that NO in the NRM is involved in HVR, exerts an inhibitory modulation on the NRM neurons but does not mediate hypoxia-induced anapyrexia.  相似文献

Hypoxia causes a regulated decrease in body temperature (Tb), a response that has been called anapyrexia. Stimulation of dopamine receptors in the central nervous system (CNS) reduces Tb in rats, and dopamine D1 and D2 receptors seem to be involved in this response. Thus, we predicted that injection of SCH 23390 and haloperidol, D1 and partly D2 receptor antagonists, respectively, into the anteroventral preoptic region (AVPO, the thermointegrative region of the CNS) would lessen the hypoxia-induced anapyrexia. We measured Tb of conscious Wistar rats before and after injection of SCH 23390 (50 and 100 ng/100 nl) or haloperidol (50 e 500 ng/100 nl) or their respective vehicles (saline and DMSO 5%) into the AVPO followed by 30 min of hypoxia (7% O2). Vehicles and the lower doses of SCH 23390 and haloperidol had no effect on Tb during normoxia or hypoxia. The higher doses of SCH 23390 and haloperidol attenuated (P<0.05) the drop in Tb elicited by hypoxia. However, this higher haloperidol dose also increased Tb during normoxia. The present data is consistent with the notion that dopamine is an important thermoregulatory neurotransmitter in a way that D2 receptors are mainly involved with maintenance of Tb in euthermia, while D1 receptors are activated to induce hypoxic anapyrexia in the AVPO.  相似文献

The mechanisms involved in the cardioprotector effect of red wine have not yet been completely elucidated but probably an endothelium-dependent vasodilator action may play a significant role in this effect. Experiments were undertaken to determine whether a Brazilian red wine (BRW) induces vasodilation in the mesenteric vascular bed (MVB) and an antihypertensive effect was also assessed in rats with NO-deficient hypertension. In MVB precontracted with norepinephrine, BRW (alcohol-free lyophilized) induces a long-lasting endothelium-dependent vasodilation that is not reduced by indomethacin. Inhibition of NO-synthase by NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) and guanylyl cyclase by 1H-[1,2,3] oxadiazolo [4,4-a]quinoxalin-1-one (ODQ) reduces the vasodilator effect of BRW. In vessels precontracted with norepinephrine and depolarized with KCl (25 Mm) or treated with Ca-dependent K channel blockers charybdotoxin (ChTx) plus apamin, the effect of BRW was significantly reduced. However, this effect is not affected by ATP-dependent K (KATP) channel blocker (glibenclamide). The residual vasodilator effect of BRW observed in vessels pretreated with ChTx plus apamin is completely abolished by ChTx plus apamin plus L-NAME. Concentrations of atropine, pyrilamine, yohimbine, and HOE 140 that significantly reduced the vasodilator effect of acetylcholine, histamine, clonidine, and bradykinin, respectively did not change the vasodilator effect of BRW. Chronic oral administration of BRW induced a significant reduction in systolic, mean and diastolic arterial pressure in rats with L-NAME hypertension. The present results demonstrated that vasodilator effect of BRW is dependent on endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF) in combination with nitric oxide (NO). The antihypertensive effect of red wine demonstrated in the present study may play a significant role on the cardioprotective action of chronic red wine consumption.  相似文献
