Background  

Conflicting results have been reported regarding the relationship between stride time variability (STV) and walking speed. While some studies failed to establish any relationship, others reported either a linear or a non-linear relationship. In children with painful ophthalmoplegia, the diagnosis of Tolosa-Hunt syndrome or of ophthalmoplegic migraine should only be considered when tumoral, infectious, inflammatory or vascular causes have been excluded by appropriate investigations. Both entities are classified as "neuralgia" by the International Headache Society, and seem to share a similar pathogenic mechanism. Both diseases have many clinical similarities with slight differences concerning pain characteristics or ocular associated symptoms. High resolution CT scan or contrast enhanced MRI can be necessary to exclude other causes of painful ophthalmoplegia. They can sometimes objectify an inflammatory process of the cavernous sinus in Tolosa-Hunt syndrome or a reversible enhancement and thickening of the cisternal segment of the oculomotor nerve during an ophthalmoplegic migraine. Pain and ophthalmoplegia quickly resolve with corticosteroids. Such treatment may decrease the risk of recurrence. It is important to follow-up these patients for a 2 years period and to repeat the etiologic assessment. We report here 2 cases of children with painful ophtalmoplegia.  相似文献

In vitro studies showed that fluoride and magnesium salts relax bronchial smooth muscle cells. Their combined administration could have potential interest. Magnesium fluoride salt (MgF2) is nearly insoluble. A soluble derivate can be obtained by introducing L‐arginineinine (L‐arginine) between the ions. L‐arginine, being the substrate leading to the release of NO, might add another relaxing effect to this derivate. Relaxing effects of NaF, MgSO4, L‐arginine, NaF+MgSO4 and MgF2+L‐arginine given via the inhaled route were studied on rats challenged with acetylmethylcholine (ACMCH) following eight successive doses. Tested salts were given at the fourth dose of ACMCH. Changes in bronchial resistances (R) were measured and compared to results obtained in a control group, receiving ACMCH alone. NaF, MgSO4, and L‐arginine led to significant bronchorelaxing effects (p < 0.05). The association NaF+MgSO4 gave a greater decrease in bronchial resistance compared to that obtained with each salt (fluoride and magnesium) separately. (MgF2, 2L‐arginine) induced a significant fall in R at the fourth dose of ACMCH just after its inhalation. R values obtained with (MgF2, 2L‐arginine) were significantly lower than L‐arginine alone at the sixth dose of ACMCH (p < 0.05). (MgF2, 2L‐arginine) is a triple combination able to induce a significant and constant bronchodilating effect through three different pathways. The effect looked partly additive. We report two cases of primary Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in the spine leading to radicular compression secondary to infiltration of lumbar body vertebras. The two patients were free of either nodular or other extra-nodular disease. Treatment consisted of chemotherapy alone, one patient have had a cauda equina syndrome and surgical decompression was performed in emergency. The patients were in remission for 20 months after diagnosis. A review is given for the incidence of primary vertebral localization of lymphoma, its diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.  相似文献

Superrepellent surfaces, such as micro/nanostructured surfaces, are of key importance in both academia and industry for emerging applications in areas such as self-cleaning, drag reduction, and oil repellence. Engineering these surfaces is achieved through the combination of the required surface topography, such as porosity, with low-surface-energy materials. The surface topography is crucial for achieving high liquid repellence and low roll-off angles. In general, the combination of micro- and nanostructures is most promising in achieving high repellence. In this work, we report the enhancement of wetting properties of porous polymers by replication from wrinkled Parylene F (PF)-coated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). Fluorinated polymer foam “Fluoropor” serves as the low-surface-energy polymer. The wrinkled molds are achieved via the deposition of a thin PF layer onto the soft PDMS substrates. Through consecutive supercritical drying, superrepellent surfaces with a high surface porosity and a high water contact angle (CA) of >165° are achieved. The replicated surfaces show low roll-off angles (ROA) <10° for water and <21° for ethylene glycol. Moreover, the introduction of the micro-wrinkles to Fluoropor not only enhances its liquid repellence for water and ethylene glycol but also for liquids with low surface tension, such as n-hexadecane.  相似文献

Cherubism is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by a mutation of the gene encoding the binding protein SH3BP2. However, non-hereditary forms are observed, probably related to a de novo mutation. It is clinically manifested by an enlargement or a deformation of the jaw associated with a malposition of the teeth. In severe forms, these deformations can have a psychological impact, associated with ocular complications, as well as a reduction of the pharynx lumen and phonation disorders. The appearance of the lesions on imaging is not very specific, however it remains essential for the mapping of the lesions. We report a case of cherubism in a 12-year-old boy with no family history. This case report''s objective is to identify the radiological aspect of this pathology and establish an early diagnosis to oriented therapeutic interventions.  相似文献
