ABILOCO-Kids is a scale that assesses the walking ability of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) from the viewpoint of parental perception. The aim of this study was to translate the ABILOCO-Kids scale into Turkish and to establish its reliability and validity in children with CP. Turkish children were recruited in this study. ABILOCO-Kids is a scale developed by Caty and et al. This scale assess the walking ability of children with CP focusing on the activity domain of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). The ABILOCO-Kids scale was translated from English into Turkish using the forward-backward-forward method. The motor functions of the 63 children participating in the study were evaluated by the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) and the Gross Motor Function Measurement-88 (GMFM-88). The ABILOCO-Kids scale was repeated in 30 children after one week to establish test-retest reliability. While internal and external construct validity were investigated using Rasch analysis and Spearman correlation coefficient, respectively; reliability was evaluated in terms of internal consistency by Cronbach’s alpha and Person Separation Index (PSI). All items of the ABILOCO-Kids were found to fit the Rasch Model (chi-square 14.35 (df?=?20), p?=?0.813). The internal construct validity was good, overall mean item fit residual was ?0.109 (SD: 0.719) and mean person fit residual was ?0.215 (SD: 0.817). The reliability was good with Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.98 and PSI of 0.99. When the test-retest was examined via Differential Item Functioning (DIF) by time, none of the items showed DIF. Spearman correlation coefficients of the ABILOCO-Kids scale in relation to the GMFM and GMFCS were r?=?0.824, p?<?0.001; r?=??0.788, p?<?0.001 respectively. The Turkish version of the ABILOCO-Kids scale is a valid, reliable and unidimensional scale for children with CP. This scale will allow the differences in the locomotion of children with CP to be evaluated from the perspective of the family.  相似文献

Purpose

To evaluate extraocular orbital vessels with color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) and investigate the effects of severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) on retrobulbar blood flow.

Methods

Between February 2014 and September 2015, 30 patients with severe OSA (apnea–hypopnea index (AHI) > 30) and 28 controls were prospectively included in this study. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured with a Goldmann applanation tonometer, and CDU was used to evaluate the retrobulbar vessels.

Results

The mean AHI score for the OSA group was 63.2 ± 21.5 per hour. The IOP values were significantly higher in the severe OSA group (p < 0.05). The central retinal artery peak systolic velocity (PSV) (p < 0.05) and end-diastolic velocity (EDV) (p < 0.02), and the ophthalmic artery (OA) PSV and EDV, were found to be significantly lower in the OSA group (p < 0.05).

Conclusion

Severe OSA causes an increase in IOP and a decrease in flow velocity in the retrobulbar circulation.

From March 13 until May 31, 2020, a complete lockdown in Turkey was planned and implemented by the government of Turkey. The vulnerable population with substance use disorders was affected more than others due to the social isolation measures meant to control the pandemic. This study presents detailed and broad data on drug abuse in suspected cases during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey and compares the frequencies and patterns of drug abuse before and during the pandemic. The samples were screened by liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Blood and urine samples of suspected users (n = 9669) were analyzed for drugs of abuse during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and compared with their results (n = 8727) obtained just before the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of party drugs, such as MDMA and cocaine, and the classic illicit drug cannabis was significantly decreased and followed the same trend after complete lockdown was over. In contrast, methamphetamine use increased significantly during the lockdown period and continued after the lockdown. Interestingly, the number of tests that were positive for pregabalin as a misused licit drug increased, and this increase continued after the lockdown. The results showed a significant increase in drug abuse cases and changes in drug abuse trends, with an alteration toward more easily obtainable and lower-priced drugs. Using more dangerous and easily available licit and illicit drugs may cause serious health problems.

This study was planned to assess whether tissue Doppler imaging is a useful method for the detection of the right ventricular myocardial infarction. Forty-eight patients with acute inferior myocardial infarction and 24 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were included in this study. Twenty-four patients had electrocardiographic signs of inferior myocardial infarction without right ventricular infarction (group I), and the other 24 patients had electrocardiographic signs of inferior myocardial infarction with right ventricular infarction (group II). From the echocardiographic apical four-chamber view, peak systolic, early diastolic, and late diastolic velocities of the tricuspid annulus at the right ventricular free wall were recorded with the use of pulsed-wave Doppler tissue imaging. The tricuspid annular peak tissue Doppler imaging systolic velocity was significantly lower in group I (14.03 ± 2.57cm/s, P 0.005) and in group II (8.50 ± 0.84cm/s, P 0.005) than in controls (16.63 ± 2.31cm/s). The tricuspid annular peak systolic (8.50 ± 0.84cm/s vs 16.63 ± 2.31cm/s) and peak early diastolic (10.99 ± 3.28cm/s vs 19.39 ± 4.3cm/s) velocities were significantly lower in group II than in group I, as compared with controls (P 0.001). Peak early diastolic velocity of tricuspid annulus (10.99 ± 3.28cm/s vs 19.39 ± 4.3cm/s) was significantly lower in group I than in controls (P 0.001); however, late diastolic velocity was significantly lower in group II (15.98 ± 5.08cm/s, P 0.05) than in group I (18.21 ± 2.63cm/s, P 0.05) and in controls (19.02 ± 5.29cm/s). The results of this study indicate that tricuspid annular peak systolic and early diastolic velocities are reduced in patients with right ventricular infarction. The velocity of the tricuspid annulus by tissue Doppler imaging is simple and can be used to distinguish whether patients with inferior myocardial infarction have right ventricular infarction.This study was presented at the XXIII. The free radical copolymerization of 2-thienylmethyl 4-vinylbenzyl ether (TMVBE) with 2-oxo-2-(2-thienylmethoxy)ethyl-2-methylacrylate (TMOEM) has been carried out in 1,4-dioxane at 65?°C?±?1 and were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. 1H NMR analysis was used to determine the molar fractions of TMVBE and TMOEM in the copolymers. The monomer reactivity ratios were calculated according to the general copolymerization equation using Kelen–Tüdõs and Finemann–Ross linearization methods. The reactivity ratios indicated a tendency toward alternation copolymerization. The thermal behaviors of copolymers with various compositions were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. Also, the apparent thermal decomposition activation energies were calculated by the Ozawa and Kissinger methods with a Shimadzu TGA 60 thermogravimetric analysis thermobalance. All the products showed moderate activity against different strains of bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

Trigeminal neuropathic pain is the most debilitating pain disorder but current treatments including opiates are not effective. A common symptom of trigeminal neuropathic pain is cold allodynia/hyperalgesia or cold hypersensitivity in orofacial area, a region where exposure to cooling temperatures are inevitable in daily life. Mechanisms underlying trigeminal neuropathic pain manifested with cold hypersensitivity are not fully understood. In this study, we investigated trigeminal neuropathic pain in male rats following infraorbital nerve chronic constrictive injury (ION-CCI). Assessed by the orofacial operant behavioral test, ION-CCI animals displayed orofacial cold hypersensitivity. The cold hypersensitivity was associated with the hyperexcitability of small-sized trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons that innervated orofacial regions. Furthermore, ION-CCI resulted in a reduction of A-type voltage-gated K+ currents (IA currents) in these TG neurons. We further showed that these small-sized TG neurons expressed Kv4.3 voltage-gated K+ channels, and Kv4.3 expression in these cells was significantly downregulated following ION-CCI. Pharmacological inhibition of Kv4.3 channels with phrixotoxin-2 inhibited IA-currents in these TG neurons and induced orofacial cold hypersensitivity. On the other hand, pharmacological potentiation of Kv4.3 channels amplified IA currents in these TG neurons and alleviated orofacial cold hypersensitivity in ION-CCI rats. Collectively, Kv4.3 downregulation in nociceptive trigeminal afferent fibers may contribute to peripheral cold hypersensitivity following trigeminal nerve injury, and Kv4.3 activators may be clinically useful to alleviate trigeminal neuropathic pain.SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT Trigeminal neuropathic pain, the most debilitating pain disorder, is often triggered and exacerbated by cooling temperatures. Here, we created infraorbital nerve chronic constrictive injury (ION-CCI) in rats, an animal model of trigeminal neuropathic pain to show that dysfunction of Kv4.3 voltage-gated K+ channels in nociceptive-like trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons underlies the trigeminal neuropathic pain manifested with cold hypersensitivity in orofacial regions. Furthermore, we demonstrate that pharmacological potentiation of Kv4.3 channels can alleviate orofacial cold hypersensitivity in ION-CCI rats. Our results may have clinical implications in trigeminal neuropathic pain in human patients, and Kv4.3 channels may be an effective therapeutic target for this devastating pain disorder.  相似文献

Solitary fibrous tumors of the pleura are neoplasms of the mesenchymal tissue of the pleural mesothelium. The most frequent symptoms are dyspnea, coughing and chest pain. A 45-year-old female patient presented after a thoracic contusion. A radio-opaque image was evidenced on chest X-ray. At the initial hospital, a hemorrhagic fluid was aspirated at thoracocentesis and the patient was transferred to our hospital with diagnosis of traumatic hemothorax. A thoracic CT showed a tumoral formation filling two-thirds of the left hemithorax. The transthoracic biopsy finding was compatible with a fibrous tumor. The patient was taken for surgery and the large pleural tumor was excised. In conclusion, a large pleural fibrous tumor was initially mistaken for hemothorax. A CT-scan revealed the tumoral nature of the thoracic opacity.  相似文献
