The present functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study investigates the neural correlates of reachability judgements. In a block design experiment, 14 healthy participants judged whether a visual target presented at different distances in a virtual environment display was reachable or not with the right hand. In two control tasks, they judged the colour or the relative position of the visual target according to flankers. Contrasting the activations registered in the reachability judgement task and in the control tasks, we found activations in the frontal structures, and in the bilateral inferior and superior parietal lobe, including the precuneus, and the bilateral cerebellum. This fronto‐parietal network including the cerebellum overlaps with the brain network usually activated during actual motor production and motor imagery. In a following event‐related design experiment, we contrasted brain activations when targets were rated as ‘reachable’ with those when they were rated as ‘unreachable’. We found activations in the left premotor cortex, the bilateral frontal structures, and the left middle temporal gyrus. At a lower threshold, we also found activations in the left motor cortex, and in the bilateral cerebellum. Given that reaction time increased with target distance in reachable space, we performed a subsequent parametric analysis that revealed a related increase of activity in the fronto‐parietal network including the cerebellum. Unreachable targets did not show similar activation, and particularly in regions associated to motor production and motor imagery. Taken together, these results suggest that dynamical motor representations used to determine what is reachable are also part of the perceptual process leading to the distinct representation of peripersonal and extrapersonal spaces.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to investigate how item-scene incongruity at encoding influences subsequent item recognition and the associated event-related potential (ERP) old/new effects. Participants (N = 26) studied pictures showing an item in a scene, either in a congruent condition (e.g., a tent in a field) or an incongruent condition (e.g., a shower cabin in a field). Items were presented alone at test. Behavioral data revealed a benefit of incongruent information, with greater source memory performance but no significant effect on old/new recognition judgments. Longer response times for old compared to new items showed that participants not only evaluated the old-new status of objects during recognition, but also worked already on the scene context decision relative to the source memory judgment. An ERP incongruity effect was found at study, with greater N400 amplitude in the incongruent condition than the congruent condition. During recognition, the results provide evidence that item-scene incongruity at study increases the amplitude of ERP old/new effects. A mid-frontal N400 old/new effect was found in the early time window (300–500 ms), and a right frontal sub-component was modulated by item-scene incongruity at encoding. The modulation observed in the later time window (500–800 ms) confirmed previous studies showing that the parietal old/new effect reflects the retrieval of episodic contextual details. The present study shows that the magnitude of ERP old/new effects is sensitive to item-scene incongruity at encoding from the early time window in the right frontal region to the later retrieval processes.  相似文献

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in December 2019 in China, various measures have been adopted in order to attenuate the impact of the virus on the population. With regard to spine surgery, French physicians are devoted to take place in the national plan against COVID-19, the French Spine Surgery Society therefore decided to elaborate specific guidelines for management of spinal disorders during COVID-19 pandemic in order to prioritize management of patients. A three levels stratification was elaborated with Level I: Urgent surgical indications, Level II: Surgical indications associated to a potential loss of chance for the patient and Level III: Non-urgent surgical indications. We also report French experience in a COVID-19 cluster region illustrated by two clinical cases. We hope that the guidelines formulated by the French Spine Surgery Society and the experience of spine surgeons from a cluster region will be helpful in order optimizing the management of patients with urgent spinal conditions during the pandemic.  相似文献

Although radial approach has been shown to be feasible for coronary angiography, angioplasty, and even stent placement, there have been no prospective evaluations of ease and safety of left radial approach for coronary angiogram. We examined procedural duration and success as well as complications in 415 consecutive patients. Radial artery occlusion was assessed immediately post-procedure and at 2 month follow-up using echo-Doppler measurements. Procedure failure rate was 9%, mean time for sheath insertion was 4.7 ± 4.7 min, and mean procedure duration was 19.1 ± 8.2 min. No major complications occurred. Asymptomatic radial artery occlusion was noted in 71% of the first 49 patients, decreased to 24% in the next 119 receiving 2,000–3,000 units of heparin, and to 4.3% in the last 210 receiving 5000 (p < 0.05). Comparison with the femoral approach in the same laboratory suggested that the radial approach took longer, but provided similarly high-quality results without great difficulty in coronary cannulation. Hence, the left radial approach for coronary angiography (with heparin administration) allows immediate ambulation and may be especially useful for outpatients and when the femoral approach is not possible. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.  相似文献

The complexes: [CoL2](ClO4)2 (1), [FeL2](ClO4)2 (2), [NiL2](ClO4)2 (3) and [MnLCl2] (4), with L = diethyl-1,1′-(pyridine-2,6-diyl)bis(5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate), were synthesized and fully characterized. Structural analysis revealed two distinct patterns influenced by the counter ions where L acts as a tridentate chelating ligand. The in vitro antitumor activity of L and L′ (diethyl 2,2′-(pyridine-2,6-diylbis(5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3,1-diyl)) diacetate) as well as their metal complexes, was tested by the measurement of their cytostatic and cytotoxic properties towards the blood cancer mastocytoma cell line P815. We have also investigated their interactions with the antioxidant enzyme system. As a result, [MnL′Cl2] (1′) exhibited the strongest activity compared to reference cis-platin with no cytotoxicity towards normal cells PBMCs (Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells). On the other hand, the antioxidant enzyme activity showed that the efficiency of metal complex 1′ against P815 tumor cells was via the rise in the SOD activity and inhibition of CAT enzyme activity. This proof of concept study allows disclosure of a new class of molecules in cancer therapeutics.
