Severe pulmonary disease caused by the novel coronavirus [severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)], has devastated many countries around the world.It has overwhelmed the medical system.The priorities of many institutions have changed to manage critically ill corona virus infectious disease-2019(COVID-19) patients,which affected the working style of many departments.Hepatologists and transplant surgeons look after a very sensitive patient group.Patients with liver disease need special attention and continuous follow-up.Similarly,transplant candidates also need special care.Healthcare professionals in the field of hepatology face the overwhelming task of taking care of COVID-19 patients with hepatic complications,liver disease or transplant patients who are SARS-CoV-2 positive,and the patients on routine surveillance who do not have COVID-19.This review will evaluate COVID-19 from the perspective of its effect on the liver and its possible effects on patients with liver disease.Furthermore,the level of care for liver transplant recipients during the pandemic will be discussed.  相似文献

In recent years, implantology has made significant progress, as it has now become a safe and predictable practice. The development of new geometries, primary and secondary, of new surfaces and alloys, has made this possible. The purpose of this review is to analyze the different alloys present on the market, such as that in zirconia, and evaluate their clinical differences with those most commonly used, such as those in grade IV titanium. The review, conducted on major scientific databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science and MDPI yielded a startling number of 305 results. After the application of the filters and the evaluation of the results in the review, only 10 Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs) were included. Multiple outcomes were considered, such as Marginal Bone Level (MBL), Bleeding on Probing (BoP), Survival Rate, Success Rate and parameters related to aesthetic and prosthetic factors. There are currently no statistically significant differences between the use of zirconia implants and titanium implants, neither for fixed prosthetic restorations nor for overdenture restorations. Only the cases reported complain about the rigidity and, therefore, the possibility of fracture of the zirconium. Certainly the continuous improvement in these materials will ensure that they could be used safely while maintaining their high aesthetic performance.  相似文献

Background: Although many factors seem to have an impact on the resonance frequency (RF) values of implants, there is a lack of evidence about some other parameters, which may have an influence on implant stability. Purpose: The aims of the study were to determine whether initial stability of a dental implant differs when the buccolingual width of the bone changes, to determine whether different orientations affect the RF measurements in the RF device, and to investigate two dental implants with different morphologies with regard to their initial stability. Materials and Methods: Two implant systems (Tidal Spiral Dental Implant Systems, Huntsville, AL, USA, and MIS Seven, MIS Implants Technologies Ltd., Shlomi, Israel) with diameters of 3.75 mm and 4.2 mm and with a length of 13 mm were used. Following the insertion of implants, buccolingual thinning of the models was performed in 2‐mm increments ranging between 0 and 8 mm. Results: A statistically significant decrease for implant stability quotient (ISQ) values was noticed for both diameters and both systems for all dimensional time points of the blocks (p < .05). The second system (more number of threads) resulted with higher ISQ values for both diameters than the first system (lower number of threads) (p < .001). The orientation of the probe influenced the measurements, where a standard orientation is advisable for the magnetic RF device. Conclusion: Different implant surface geometries seem to behave in different patterns in terms of initial stability. Dimensional changes in buccolingual direction seem to have an impact on the initial stability, where wider implants also presented higher ISQ values than narrow ones.  相似文献

Possible molecular mechanisms leading to cyclosporine-induced hepatotoxicity has not been cleared yet. Therefore, investigation of antioxidant status of hepatic tissues exposed to cyclosporine A (CsA) and of free radical involvement in the CsA-induced hepatotoxicity seems of importance. For this aim, 20 rabbits were used in the study. In each group (control, CsA, CsA plus vitamin and, vitamin only) there were 5 animals. CsA was given orally (25 mg/kg/day) for 10 days. Vitamins E (100 mg/kg/ day) and C (200 mg/kg/day) combination was injected intramuscularly. After 10th day, animals were killed, and livers were prepared for the enzymatic assays. Activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and catalase (CAT) and, malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were determined in the supernatant fractions. Lowered SOD, unchanged GSH-Px and, increased CAT activities and MDA levels were detected in hepatic tissues of rabbits treated with CsA as compared with controls. In the CsA plus vitamin group, SOD activity was found to be higher, GSH-Px and CAT activities unchanged and MDA levels lower than the CsA group. In the vitamin-treated group, all of the enzyme activities were higher than the controls but MDA levels were unchanged. Correlation analysis revealed some significant differences between the groups. Results suggest that cyclosporine impairs the antioxidant defense system and thus, leads to oxidant stress and peroxidation in rabbit hepatic tissues. It has been established that this process can be prevented by antioxidant vitamin supplementation.  相似文献
