Permanent complete heart block (CHB) secondary to the loss of first septal perforator after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of the left descending artery (LAD) is an extremely rare complication. We describe a case report where a patient underwent PCI of proximal LAD, complicated by loss of first septal perforator, septal infarction, and bifasicular block, which progressed to symptomatic delayed CHB. One week later, the patient required implantation of a permanent pacemaker following failure to wean off the transvenous temporary pacing maker. 相似文献

A facile and simple pulse electrodeposition method was employed to deposit Mn2O3 nanoparticles on cathodically reduced titania nanotubes (R-TNTs) at different deposition time in the range of 3–15 min to investigate the influence of mass loading of Mn2O3 on the electrochemical performance of Mn2O3/R-TNTs nanocomposite for supercapacitor application. Mn2O3 nanoparticles were deposited on circumference of R-TNTs as well as in the nanotubes as revealed by FESEM images for all the deposited time. XPS result confirmed the presence of MnO2 (Mn4+) and MnO (Mn2+) on the Mn2O3/R-TNTs composite which provide pseudocapacitive behaviour for the electrode. Mass loading of Mn2O3 increased linearly with deposition time as confirmed by EDX analysis. The sample deposited for 12 min exhibits the highest areal capacitance of 51 mF cm−2 (which is 22 times enhancement over R-TNTs) at a current density of 0.1 mA cm−2 and specific capacitance of 325 F g−1 at 6 A g−1. The sample also show a high-rate capability by retaining 80% of its capacitance even at higher current density of 30 A g−1. Interestingly, it retained 98% of the capacitance over 5000 charge discharge cycles at 10 A g−1 after initial drop to 95% at 200th cycles suggesting an excellent long-term chemical stability. A considerably low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and charge transfer resistance (Rct) of 9.6 Ω and 0.4 Ω respectively was deduced from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis indicating good conductivity and improved charge transfer efficiency of Mn2O3/R-TNTs nanocomposite.The mass loading of Mn2O3 by pulse electrodeposition (PED) onto reduced titania nanotubes (R-TNTs) greatly influences the electrochemical performance of the composite. 相似文献

A new promising fluorescent chemosensor based on a 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde skeleton was successfully synthesized through double imine formation as a yellow solid with an overall chemical yield of 63%. The compound showed UV/Visible maxima of at 394 nm in DMSO. Based on spectroscopic data of FTIR, ToF-HRMS, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR, the product was characterized as 1-((Z)-((E)-(3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxybenzilydine)hydrazono)methyl)naphthalene-2-ol. Upon experimental study, the compound was confirmed as a highly selective and reversible off–on typical chemosensor against Al3+ with an emission quantum yield of 0.203 ± 0.009. The Job''s plot analysis revealed that a highly stable 1:1 complex was formed with an association constant of 8.73 × 105 M−1. A pH-dependent study showed that the sensor was potentially applicable at physiological conditions (pH 7–8) in a mixture of DMSO : H2O (99 : 1, v/v). The LoD and LoQ of the chemosensor towards Al3+ in DMSO were found to be 0.04 and 0.14 μM respectively. Based on DFT and TD-DFT calculation (B3LYP hybrid method/basis set of 6-311+G(d,p)), the sensing mechanism of the chemosensor to the ion was discovered as inhibition of excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT).A new promising fluorescent chemosensor of Al3+ based on a 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde skeleton was successfully synthesized through double imine formation and demonstrated excellent sensing properties through the ESIPT inhibition mechanism. 相似文献

We describe the use of a common radiographic view of the lower cervical skeleton, 'Swimmer's View', to aid the diagnosis of foreign bodies in the upper oesophagus, which may be obscured by the clavicles. BACKGROUND: The role of hemolysis in the pathophysiology of neonatal jaundice (NNJ) in patients with glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency has been questioned recently. The aim of the present study was to determine the contribution of hemolysis to the pathophysiology of jaundice in Malay neonates with G6PD deficiency and NNJ. METHODS: Four groups of babies were included in the study: (i) G6PD deficient with NNJ; (ii) G6PD deficient without NNJ; (iii) G6PD normal with NNJ; and (iv) normal controls. Babies with other known causes of jaundice were excluded from the study. All subjects underwent the following investigations on day 3-5 after birth: hemoglobin level (Hb), serum bilirubin level, carboxyhemoglobin (CO-Hb) concentration, reticulocyte count and full blood picture. The results of the investigations were compared between the groups using SPSS version 11. RESULTS: Babies with G6PD and jaundice had a similar percentage of CO-Hb to babies with G6PD without NNJ or babies with normal G6PD and NNJ (1.76 +/- 0.40% vs 1.66 +/- 0.31% and 1.67 +/- 0.28%, respectively; P: 0.23 and 0.41, respectively). Total Hb levels and reticulocyte counts were not significantly different between the groups. The blood film showed more (even though not reaching significance) hemolysis in the G6PD patients but results of the blood film were very similar for G6PD patients with and those without NNJ. CONCLUSION: Hemolysis is not a main determinant of neonatal jaundice in G6PD-deficient babies. 相似文献
