Early intervention: Professional views and referral practices of Australian paediatricians

Objective : To gather information from paediatricians concerning their attitudes to early intervention services for young children with developmental disabilities and to study their referral practices.
Methodology : Two hundred and ninety-five Australian paediatricians completed a postal questionnaire.
Results : Paediatricians presented a positive view of early intervention, particularly for its beneficial impact on families, and perceived the quality of services to be comprehensive or adequate. There were few differences between States, or between country or metropolitan areas. Most paediatricians make prompt referrals to early intervention services when a child has an established disability. Referral is much less likely with suspected delay.
Conclusions : Paediatricians are aware of the benefits of early intervention but additional information concerning the role of these services and their significant impact on families and children should be provided.

目的：介绍ＨＭＧＣｏＡ 还原酶抑制剂类药的研究进展,为临床合理用药提供参考。方法：以国内外发表的论文为基础,经分析,归纳,从药理作用、体内过程、临床应用、副作用及产品发展概况等方面介绍洛伐他汀、普伐他汀、辛伐他汀、氟伐他汀及西伐他汀等药品。结果与结论：大量资料表明,ＨＭＧＣｏＡ 还原酶抑制剂是一类疗效显著、毒副作用少,耐受性好的理想降血脂药物,该类药的问世为治疗高胆固醇血症开辟了新途径。     

Contribution to the study of the essential oil from Thymus tosevii growing wild in Greece

The essential oil of THYMUS TOSEVII Velen. (Lamiaceae) growing wild in Greece was investigated by means of GLC, GC-MS, and the physico-chemical constants were determined. The essential oil content was 0.9%. As main constituents resulted linalool 35.5% and geraniol 27.5%. In addition twelve monoterpene hydrocarbons, nine oxygen containing compounds, one sesquiterpene, and two terpene esters were identified, making up about 98% of the oil.
