Filling-in of bone margin defects with carbon implants

The article contains data of using carbon implants of syntactic foam to replace marginal defects of bone tissue of finger phalanges and metacarpal bones after excision of enchondromas. Sixteen clinical observations are reported.

Changes in microelement, prostaglandin and cyclic nucleotide levels in the bile of patients at the early periods after cholecystectomy

The bile content of trace elements, prostaglandins and cyclic nucleotides was measured in 66 patients in the early times (from 2 to 3 weeks) after cholecystectomy. In 60 patients, the content of trace elements was measured in blood serum. The above characteristics were found to correlate with the clinical features of the patients. The relationship was also established between blood serum and bile trace elements, between prostaglandins and cyclic nucleotides.     

Prevention of experimental stroke by hypercapnic-hypoxic preconditioning

The effectiveness of hypercapnic hypoxic training in the prevention of acute disturbances in cerebral circulation was studied under experimental conditions. Hypercapnic hypoxic training was followed by a significant decrease in the severity of neurological deficit and locomotor and coordination disorders after cerebral ischemic injury. The state of cerebral hemodynamics in conditions of prolonged adaptation to hypercapnic hypoxia

Intermittent hypercapnic hypoxia was accompanied by increases in cerebral vascular resistance, decreases in the reactivity of cerebral vessels to hypercapnia, and increases in the collateral reserve and rate of autoregulation of brain blood flow. These changes were an important component of the mechanism increasing the tolerance of the brain to ischemia in response to training with hypercapnic hypoxia. A pharmacological cost-effective analysis of vobenzim use in combined treatment of chronic prostatitis

A pharmacological cost-effective analysis of systemic enzymotherapy combination with fluoroquinolone antibiotics in the treatment of chronic bacterial prostatitis showed cost-effect of such therapy: medical cost efficacy of the treatment of chronic bacterial prostatitis with antibiotic + vobenzim is 2 times higher than of antibiotic treatment only.
