CT demonstration of prominent right hilar soft tissue collections   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Three cases of normal soft tissue collections of the right hilum which could be confused with thrombus of the right pulmonary artery or adenopathy are demonstrated. These abnormalities are due to normal accumulations of hilar fat and lymph nodes. Their typical appearance allows easy recognition.  相似文献

The differences between sodium sensitive and sodium retaining hypertension were theoretically considered using a water tank model of body fluid volume-blood pressure regulation. If an outlet valve is attached to a tank with a base area corresponding to the reciprocal of total peripheral resistance (TPR) and water is poured into this tank at a rate corresponding to the amount of Na+ intake, then equilibrium should be achieved at a certain water level, volume and output from the outlet, which represent mean arterial pressure (MAP), cardiac output (CO) and urinary Na+ excretion. The height of the outlet from the tank bottom and the size cross-sectional area, of the outlet correspond to the x-intercept and slope of the renal function (pressure-natriuresis) curve, respectively. In both nonsodium sensitive hypertension, due to the shift of the curve toward a higher blood pressure level (elevated height of the outlet) without change in the slope (size of the outlet), and sodium sensitive hypertension, due to the depressed slope of the curve (reduced outlet size), not only MAP (water level) but also CO (water volume) are increased, resulting in sodium retaining hypertension, if TPR (reciprocal of base area) remained unchanged, while CO is relatively unchanged, resulting in nonsodium retaining hypertension, if TPR is elevated. Thus, the MAP and its sensitivity to sodium intake is determined by the renal function curve. Since body fluid volume is determined by both the renal function curve and TPR, however, changes in TPR during the development of hypertension is a major factor in determining whether or not the body fluid volume has to change only a small amount or a large amount. Therefore, the sodium sensitivity of blood pressure and sodium retention must be considered separately.  相似文献

Backgroud.  Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a connective tissue disease characterized by sclerotic changes of the skin and internal organs. Telangiectasia is a frequent complication of patients with SSc.
Objective.  To examine the prevalance of telangiectasia in patients with SSc and investigate the clinical and laboratory features of patients with SSc and telangiectasia.
Methods.  In total, 211 patients with SSc who fulfilled the diagnostic criteria for SSc of the American College of Rheumatology were examined by laboratory and clinical methods. The average of disease duration time was 7.4 years.
Results.  Telangiectasia was found in 119 of the 211 patients (56%) with SSc. The prevalence of oesophageal involvement, decreased diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO), heart involvement, calcinosis, shortening of the sublingual frenulum, or pitting scars was significantly greater in patients with telangiectasia than in those without telangiectasia.
Conclusion.  Our study suggests that the presence of telangiectasia may be a marker of oesophageal involvement, decreased DLCO, and heart involvement.  相似文献

We studied the effects of various 111In-water soluble chelates and incubation media on labeling efficiency of platelets and in vitro platelet aggregability. High labeling efficiency of platelets in ACD-saline was achieved with 111In-oxine sulfate, 111In-tropolone and 111In-MPO (2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide). In the condition with 4.8 x 10(6)/mm3 platelets in ACD-plasma, 111In-oxine-sulfate had low labeling efficiency and inconsistent labeling, while 111In-tropolone and 111In-MPO had high labeling efficiency. In vitro platelet aggregability (ADP 2 microM) was reduced when platelets were labeled in the absence of plasma. However, there was no significant difference in platelet aggregability among 111In-platelets labeled by three different chelates. In conclusion, to maintain aggregation activity of the platelets with relatively high labeling efficiency, the best result was obtained by using MPO or tropolone chelate in plasma at 4.8 x 10(6)/microliters platelet concentration.  相似文献

In order to find the markers of the toxicity of the autoxidized lipids in the liver, rats were given a lethal amount of secondary autoxidation products of linoleic acid (400 mg/rat/day for 3 days) and then changes in the hepatic metabolic functions were analyzed. A decrease in acetyl-CoA level to half caused by the depletion of CoASH was reported in an associated paper (J. Nutr. Sci. Vitaminol., 35, 11-23, 1989). Citrate, isocitrate, and 2-oxoglutarate also decreased to half the level of those of the control group. Reduction in isocitrate dehydrogenase activity was only 25%, while NADH2 and ATP levels remained unchanged. Thus, the reduction in the citrate cycle activity was due to the decrease in acetyl-CoA. The activity of mitochondrial succinate dehydrogenase was decreased to 1/5. Other appreciable changes were depletion of glucose 6-phosphate and fructose 6-phosphate, accumulation of glucose 1-phosphate, reductions in hexokinase, phosphofructokinase, glucose-6-phosphatase, phosphoglucomutase, and phosphogluconate dehydrogenase activities, and decrease in the NADPH2 level. It was considered that these changes were caused by the depletion of glucose 6-phosphate whose synthetic pathways were abnormal. Therefore, the markers of the hepatotoxicity of secondary products were the changes in the CoASH level and the activities of succinate dehydrogenase and synthetic pathways for glucose 6-phosphate.  相似文献
