Mentorship is considered to play a paramount role in empowering nursing students to recieve superlative benefit from clinical placement. Although the new standards for student supervision and assessment approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2018 seemed to lead to the disillusionment of mentorship, they support clinical education and devotion to nursing students' clinical learning globally. The aim of this synthesis was to review and explore the experiences of mentorship of preregistration nursing students and nurses. A systematic search of databases was performed for qualitative studies published in English from 2000 to 2018. Eleven qualitative studies were selected, from which three analytical themes emerged: mentors' capabilities and readiness for preregistration nursing student mentorship, humanistic approach as foundation to the effectiveness of preregistration nursing student mentorship, and the collaboration of stakeholders in health care and educational settings to enhance preregistration nursing student mentorship. A thematic framework of mentorship in preregistration nursing education was introduced. The thematic synthesis sheds light on how to improve a formal system of mentorship and clinical supervision for nursing education. 相似文献

Located in tropical and subtropical region, Taiwan is an island with high algal species diversity. In this study, a number of fungal strains were isolated from marine macroalgae collected from northeastern intertidal zone of Taiwan. Preliminary anti-inflammatory screening has shown that the methanolic extracts of solid fermented products of the red alga Mastophora rosea-derived fungal strain Acremonium sp. NTU492 exhibited significant bioactivity. In an attempt to disclose the active principles from this fungal strain, a series of separation and purification was thus undertaken, which has led to the isolation and characterization of seven compounds including four new peptides, namely acrepeptins A–D (1–4), along with previously reported destruxin B (5), guangomide A (6), and guangomide B (7). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and compared with literatures. Of these, acrepeptins A (1) and C (3) showed markedly inhibitory activities on nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-activated microglial BV-2 cells with IC50 values of 12.0 ± 2.3 and 10.6 ± 4.0 μM, respectively. Furthermore, acrepeptins A (1) and C (3) significantly attenuated the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase in a concentration-dependent manner (5–40 μM). 相似文献

Treacher Collins Syndrome (TCS) is the most common of the human mandibulofacial dysostosis disorders. Recently, a partial TCOF1 cDNA was identified and shown to contain mutations in TCS families. Here we present the entire exon/intron genomic structure and the complete coding sequence of TCOF1. TCOF1 encodes a low complexity protein of 1,411 amino acids, whose predicted protein structure reveals repeated motifs that mirror the organization of its exons. These motifs are shared with nucleolar trafficking proteins in other species and are predicted to be highly phosphorylated by casein kinase. Consistent with this, the full-length TCOF1 protein sequence also contains putative nuclear and nucleolar localization signals. Throughout the open reading frame, we detected an additional eight mutations in TCS families and several polymorphisms. We postulate that TCS results from defects in a nucleolar trafficking protein that is critically required during human craniofacial development. 相似文献

Most animals exhibit innate auditory behaviors driven by genetically hardwired neural circuits. In Drosophila, acoustic information is relayed by Johnston organ neurons from the antenna to the antennal mechanosensory and motor center (AMMC) in the brain. Here, by using structural connectivity analysis, we identified five distinct types of auditory projection neurons (PNs) interconnecting the AMMC, inferior ventrolateral protocerebrum (IVLP), and ventrolateral protocerebrum (VLP) regions of the central brain. These auditory PNs are also functionally distinct; AMMC-B1a, AMMC-B1b, and AMMC-A2 neurons differ in their responses to sound (i.e., they are narrowly tuned or broadly tuned); one type of audioresponsive IVLP commissural PN connecting the two hemispheres is GABAergic; and one type of IVLP-VLP PN acts as a generalist responding to all tested audio frequencies. Our findings delineate an auditory processing pathway involving AMMC→IVLP→VLP in the Drosophila brain. 相似文献
