Haematopoietic marrow hyperplasia simulating transarticular skip metastasis in osteosarcoma

A case is presented of osteosarcoma with haematopoietic marrow hyperplasia simulating transarticular skip metastasis on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.     

I;17 translocations and other chromosome 17 rearrangements in human primary neuroblastoma tumors and cell lines

We report on the finding of a t(1;17) in two primary neuroblastomas. Subsequent fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis revealed the presence of 1; 17 transfocations in four out of nine neuroblastoma cell lines. The chromosome 1 short arm breakpoints were determined using region-specific probes. FISH screening also demonstrated or confirmed the presence of 11;17 translocations in three cell lines and other chromosome 17 rearrangements in those cell lines that did not carry a t(1; 17) or t(11; 17). Our data extend previous cytogenetic findings and suggest that, in addition to the known involvement of chromosome I, one or more genes on chromosome 17 also play a role in neuroblastoma development. Microinjection of vasopressin and two related peptides into the amygdala: enhancing effect on local dopamine neurotransmission

The effects of local microinjection of Arg⁸-vasopression, cyclo[Lys-Gly] and l-Pro-l-Leu-GlyNH₂ (PLG) were studied on the α-MPT-induced disappearance of dopamine and noradrenaline in the amygdala and in a number of other brain regions. A dose-dependent increase in dopamine utilization was found in the amygdala after local microinjection of Arg⁸-vasopressin, cyclo[Lys-Gly] and PLG at doses of 0.1, 2.7 and 18 pmol respectively. No effects were found on noradrenaline utilization in this brain region. Using a microdissection method, it was found that cyclo[Lys-Gly] enhanced dopamine utilization in the nucl. amygdaloideus centralis, whereas the effect of PLG was mainly located in the nucl. amgydaloideus corticalis. These effects of Arg⁸-vasopressin, cyclo[Lys-Gly] and PLG on dopamine utilization in the amygdala are correlated with those on avoidance behavior and can be interpreted as in support of the role of dopamine as neurotransmitter involved in retrieval processes.     

Gastric tuberculosis: a manifestation of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome

A Haitian man with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), fever, malaise, and diarrhea is described. A computed tomographic (CT) scan showed a retrogastric mass with an associated ulcer. An upper gastrointestinal tract study showed an ulcer with both benign and malignant features. Endoscopy revealed a malignant-appearing ulcer, but cultures and histologic examinations of surgical biopsy specimens indicated gastric tuberculosis. The relationship between tuberculosis and AIDS is discussed.     

NONMEM法估算中国癫痫患者苯妥英的群体药动学参数

临床上常规收集的161例门诊癫痫患者苯妥英(DPH)的每日剂量—稳态血药浓度数据258对,应用NONMEM程序一步估算其群体药动学参数(meansand、variances),并定量地分析体重、性别、合并用药对最大消除速率V_m(mg·d^-1),年龄对米-曼氏常数Km(μg·ml^-1)的影响。异性间DPH的V_m无显著差异,群体特征病人(体重60kg,年龄≥15a,未合并用苯巴比妥、安定或硝基安定)的V_m为439mg·d^-1,K_m为6.21μg·ml^-1。体重对V_m的调整值为WT/60的0.57次方,合并用药时V_m增加8.4mg·d^-1,年龄<15a则K_m下降7%。
