Role of endoscopic studies and cytogenetic indices in diagnosis of preclinical variants of cervix neoplasms

The results of colpocervicoscopic examination of more than 15,000 females suggested cervical carcinoma in 345 cases, which was confirmed histologically in 319 patients. A detailed morphological and cytogenetic investigation carried out in 36 patients with preclinical form of TIaNXMO invasive carcinoma of cervix uteri established a relationship of mitotic activity, pathological mitosis count and fraction of cells with X-chromatin, on the one hand, and the depth of tumor invasion, on the other. The stages of complex examination of patients with pathology of cervix uteri are discussed.     

Burns of the auricular conchae, their complications and treatment

Clinical observations over 130 patients with burnt conchae of the auricle allowed the injuries to be subdivided into two groups: primary and secondary lesions. Primary lesions are associated with the direct effect of the thermal factor upon the concha of the auricle while secondary lesions are related to infectious complications of burns. The classification of thermal lesions presented here may help provide adequate and timely therapy. When treating burns of conchae of the auricle, it is important to prevent burn dissemination and suppuration of the wound.     

The importance of the diffusive transfer of tints in the technology of tinting of soft contact lenses

This paper deals with the kinetics of tint transfer in soft contact lenses. A mathematical model taking into account both diffusion and chemical reactions is proposed and physicochemical parameters are determined. It is shown that bulk tinting is more effective in practice than surface tinting.
