Background. Transpedicular stabilization of the spine caries the risk of complications. Iatrogenic neurological symptoms after spinal cord or spinal roots involvement, misguided screws, stress fractures and loosening of screws are the most dangerous.
The aim of the study was the assessment of reasons and types of complications after transpedicular stabilization.
Material and methods. We assessed 138 patients treated in Orthopaedic Department, Medical Academy of Lublin in years 1993-2001. Operative indications in 73 cases were trauma and in 41 cases were spondylolisthesis and tumors.
Results and Conclusions. 2 patients (1,45%) died in early postoperative period due to gastric ulcer perforation and thoracic trauma. In 1 patient (0,73%) septic complications occurred. Incorrect introduction of transpedicular screws was found in 4 patients (2,95%) -i 2 patients they perforated lateral wall of the vertebral body and in 2 patients internal wall of the spinal canal. Stress fractures of the screws were found in 3 patients (2,17%) after one year from the operation. In all four cases the reason of the fracture was lack of spondylodesis. In 5 patients (3,68%) we noticed dura mater lacerations caused by intraoperative separation of fractured vertebral body or tumor.  相似文献

The resistance of cells to many drugs simultaneously (multidrug resistance) often involves the expression of membrane transporters (Mdrs); each recognizes and expels a broad spectrum of chemically unrelated drugs from the cell. The Escherichia coli Mdr transporter MdfA is able to transport differentially charged substrates in exchange for protons. This includes neutral compounds, namely chloramphenicol and thiamphenicol, and lipophilic cations such as tetraphenylphosphonium and ethidium. Here we show that the chloramphenicol and thiamphenicol transport reactions are electrogenic, whereas the transport of several monovalent cationic substrates is electroneutral. Therefore, unlike with positively charged substrates, the transmembrane electrical potential (negative inside) constitutes a major part of the driving force for the transport of electroneutral substrates by MdfA. These results demonstrate an unprecedented ability of a single secondary transporter to catalyze discrete transport reactions that differ in their electrogenicity and are governed by different components of the proton motive force.  相似文献

The development of additive manufacturing methods known as “3D printing” started in the 1980s. In these methods, spatial models are created from a semi-finished product such as a powder, filament or liquid. The model is most often created in layers, which are created from the semi-finished product, which is most often subjected to thermal treatment or using light or ultraviolet rays. The technology of additive manufacturing has both advantages and disadvantages when compared to the traditionally used methods of processing thermoplastic materials, such as, for example, injection or extrusion. The most important advantages are low cost, flexibility and speed of manufacturing of elements with different spatial shapes. From the point of view of the user of the product, the most important disadvantages are the lower mechanical properties and lower resistance to environmental factors that occur during the use of the manufactured products. The purpose of this review is to present current information and a compilation of features in the field of research on the effects of the interactions of different types of environments on the mechanical properties of 3D-manufactured thermoplastic products. Changes in the structure and mechanical properties of the material under the influence of factors such as humidity, salt, temperature, UV rays, gasoline and the environment of the human body are presented. The presented article enables the effects of environmental conditions on common materials used in 3D printing technology to be collated in one place.  相似文献

When reinforcing thin-walled steel members with composite tapes, two issues often overlooked in published scientific papers should be considered, namely the correct thickness of the adhesive layer and the optimum bond length of the CFRP tape. In this article, the authors focused on the first of these issues. For this purpose, eight beams with a thin-walled box cross-section and a length of 3 m were subjected to bending in a four-point scheme. Six beams were reinforced with Sika CarboDur S512 composite tape, and two beams without reinforcement were tested as reference members. Three thicknesses of the adhesive layer (SikaDur-30) were analyzed: 0.6 mm, 1.3 mm and 1.75 mm. In addition to examining the effect of the thickness of the adhesive layer on displacements and deformations of thin-walled steel members, the load value at which the composite tape peeled off was also analyzed. Numerical analyses were then carried out in Abaqus, the outcomes of which showed good agreement with the laboratory results. Both numerical and laboratory results have shown that the thickness of the adhesive layer had a minor effect on the reduction in deformation and displacement of the tested beams. At the same time, with the increase in the thickness of the adhesive layer, the value of the load at which the CFRP tapes detached from the beam surface significantly decreased.  相似文献
