Prognosis for polypoidal melanoma is determined by primary tumor thickness

Survival of 23 patients with polypoidal malignant melanomas was compared with an identical number of patients with nonpolypoidal melanomas of similar thickness, stage, and location. Five-year survivals for the two groups were not significantly different. The dominant prognostic factor leading to the adverse prognosis associated with polypoidal melanomas was the primary tumor thickness (all greater than 1.70 mm) and not the polypoidal morphologic configuration per se.     

Action spectrum of the retinal mechanism mediating nocturnal light-induced suppression of rat pineal gland N-acetyltransferase

The spectral properties of the retinal mechanism mediating the inhibitory effects of nocturnal light on pineal gland N-acetyltransferase (NAT) activity were determined. Pineal gland NAT activity declined linearly in albino rats exposed to different irradiances of a 460 or 580 nm monochromatic light during the middle of the dark phase of the cycle. The difference in sensitivity to the test lights is that predicted for a photopigment having peak absorbance at 495 nm, suggesting the inhibition of pineal gland N-acetyltransferase activity is mediated by the photopigment found in rat rods.     

Saccadic function in spasmodic torticollis.

Twelve patients with idiopathic spasmodic torticollis were compared with 19 normal controls on tests of saccadic eye movements thought to depend upon normal basal ganglia function. The patients were able to make random, predictive, remembered, and self-paced saccades equally as well as control subjects. This suggests that those parts of the basal ganglia which may be damaged in spasmodic torticollis, are separate from pathways responsible for the normal initiation and execution of saccades.     

Hemorrhagic Pancreatitis Associated with Acetaminophen Overdose

A 19-yr-old man ingested 25 g of acetaminophen in a suicide attempt. Twenty-one hours after the ingestion the plasma acetaminophen level was potentially hepatoxic at 62 micrograms/ml. The toxicology screen was negative for all other drugs. Thirty-six hours after admission the patient developed an acute abdomen with a serum amylase of 1500 IU. Peritoneal lavage revealed a grossly hemorrhagic fluid. Exploratory laparotomy revealed necrotic pancreatitis. Hepatoxicity with the peak SGOT greater than 2000 IU and a mild renal toxicity with the creatinine of 1.9 mg/dl occurred despite late initiation of treatment with n-acetylcysteine. No other etiology for the pancreatitis was found. Peritoneal irrigation was continuously performed through a surgically placed dialysis catheter. Pancreatitis associated with acetaminophen overdose has been reported twice in the past. Although the pathophysiology of the pancreatic injury is obscure, the lack of other etiological factors and temporal association of the pancreatitis with acetaminophen-induced hepatic and renal toxicity suggest a causal relationship.     

国产沉香化学成分的研究——Ⅲ.异白木香醇的结构测定和低沸点成分的分离与鉴定

自国产沉香(Aquilaria sinensis)[瑞香科(Thymeleaceae)植物]的挥发油中,经硅胶柱层析和离心薄层层析分离得到一新的倍半萜,命名为异白木香醇(isobaimuxinol),根据光谱(IR,¹HNMR,¹³CNMR,2 D-NMR和MS)分析确定其结构式为(Ⅰ)所示,并用X-光衍射晶体解析进一步确定了其立体化学。同时,也从该植物挥发油的低沸点部分分离得到四个已知化合物:苄基丙酮,对甲氧基苄基丙酮,茴香酸和β-沉香呋喃。这些化合物均为首次从该植物中得到。     

The Stroke Data Bank project: implications for nursing research

The Stroke Data Bank (SDB) is a systematic prospective study of the diagnosis, clinical course, and outcome of a large series of stroke cases. The SDB uses an interdisciplinary approach, with neurologists, nurse clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, and computer scientists collaborating to study stroke research issues, including diagnosis of stroke subtypes, characterization of the course and outcome of each stroke type, and identification of nonclinical factors that influence outcome. Research questions germaine to nursing management of stroke patients include: the identification of acute stroke patients likely to develop life-threatening or recovery-impeding complications; assessment of the impact of stroke on ability to perform activities of daily living; determination of how depression affects functional recovery; and identification of quantifiable measures of stroke outcome.     

Monte Carlo面积拟合分光光度法同时测定安痛定注射液中各组分的含量

Monte Carlo方法是一种数值计算方法。它既能求解确定性的数学问题,又能求解随机性的问题。本文应用Monte Carlo面积拟合算法,用微机对安痛定注射液的紫外光谱数据进行处理,不经分离测定了该制剂的巴比妥、氨基比林、安替比林三组分含量。平均回收率分别为99.1±1.1(CV);99.6±1.3(CV)和99.7±1.0%(CV)。     

抗血吸虫药物硝唑酰化物及其类似物的合成

硝唑眯(Ⅰ)是六十年代发现的抗曼氏及埃及血吸虫药物。对日本血吸虫也有治疗作用,但毒副反应较大,应用受到限制。考虑到药物分子中氨基经酰化后毒性往往降低的一般规律,我们设计合成了一系列硝唑咪酰化物。     

脱羰青蒿素的抗疟活性

青蒿素(1)是从青蒿(Artemisia annua)中分离得到的一个抗疟化合物。青蒿素的发现改变了以往抗疟药物均为含氮杂环化合物的格式,开创了一类以过氧化合物为特征的、对抗氯喹虫株有效的新型抗疟药物。七十年代青蒿素结构发表以来,国内外在化学、药理以及临床方面均进行了大量工作,成为当今抗疟药方面最活跃的一个研究课题。这里简要报道     

雷公藤春碱和雷公藤新碱的免疫抑制作用

雷公藤春碱(wilfortrine)和雷公藤新碱(euonine)ip 40及80 mg/kg对以溶血素反应为指标的体液免疫具有明显的抑制作。用雷公藤春碱ip 160mg/kg对GVHR为指标的细胞免疫也具有抑制作用。雷公藤新碱对DNCB所引起迟发超敏反应具有显著的抑制作用,并且能够降低小鼠碳廓清率和脾脏、胸腺的重量。
