Due to its unique crystal structure and nano-properties, hydroxyapatite (HA) has become an important inorganic material with broad development prospects in electrical materials, for fire resistance and insulation, and in bone repair. However, its application is limited to some extent because of its low strength, brittleness and other shortcomings. Graphene (G) and its derivative graphene oxide (GO) are well known for their excellent mechanical properties, and are widely used to modify HA by domestic and foreign scholars, who expect to achieve better reinforcement and toughening effects. However, the enhancement mechanism has not been made clear. Accordingly, in this study, G and GO were selected to modify HA using the first-principles calculation method to explore the theory of interfacial bonding of composites and explain the microscopic mechanism of interfacial bonding. First-principles calculation is a powerful tool used to solve experimental and theoretical problems and predict the structure and properties of new materials with precise control at the atomic level. Therefore, the bonding behaviors of hydroxyapatite (100), (110) and (111) crystal planes with G or GO were comprehensively and systematically studied using first-principles calculation; this included analyses of the density of states and differential charge density, and calculations of interfacial adhesion work and elastic moduli. Compared to HA (100) and (111) crystal planes, HA (110) had the best bonding performance with G and with GO, as revealed by the calculation results. The composite material systems of HA (110)/G and HA (110)/GO had the smallest density of states at the Fermi level, the largest charge transfers of Ca atoms, the largest interfacial adhesion work and the most outstanding elastic moduli. Fiber materials as an asphalt mixture additive and stabilizer can effectively improve the performance index of asphalt pavement. In this study, lignin and carbon fiber were used as modifiers to study their effects on the road performance of asphalt mastic. Based on the frequency sweep, linear amplitude sweep (LAS) and multi-stress creep recovery (MSCR) experiments were conducted to test the high-temperature rutting and medium-temperature fatigue resistance of asphalt mastic with different fiber incorporation and low-temperature performance tests based on bending beam rheometer (BBR). The results indicate that adding fibers increased the stiffness of the asphalt mastic, and the modification effect of lignin fibers was better than that of carbon fibers. Meanwhile, the characteristic flow index of the asphalt mastic gradually increased with the increase in temperature, indicating that it gradually became a near-Newtonian fluid at higher temperatures. The addition of fibers also improved the high temperature rutting resistance of the asphalt mastic but did not have an advantageous effect on fatigue and low temperature cracking resistance. Additionally, the fitting results of the four-parameter Burgers model show that the use of fiber modification decreases the proportion of elasticity and viscous creep compliance but increases the delayed elasticity part. 相似文献

Marine fouling on concrete has become one of the severest problems that damage the surface and even cause internal corrosion of marine concrete. Dissimilarly to the previous abuse of toxic antifoulants, developing hydrophobic waterborne antifouling materials could be regarded as one of the most environment-friendly and potential directions to protect marine concrete. However, the insufficient hydrophobicity, antifouling, and mechanical properties limit their application. Herein, we reported a series of hybrid coatings combining hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG) decorated waterborne fluoro silicone polyurethane (H) and HPG-grafted graphene oxide (G-HPG) that improve the hydrophobicity, antifouling, and mechanical properties. The hybrid materials were modified by the hyperbranched polyglycerol synthesized based on the anionic-ring-opening reaction between glycerol and ethylene glycol or polyethylene glycol. Remarkably, the hydrophobicity (115.19°) and antifouling properties (BSA absorption of 2.33 μg/cm2 and P. tricornutum attachment of 1.289 × 104 CFU/cm2) of the materials could be developed by the modification of HPG with higher generation numbers and backbone molecular weights. Moreover, the mechanical properties negligibly decreased (tensile strength decreased from 11.29 MPa to 10.49 MPa, same pencil hardness and adhesion grade as H of 2H and grade 2). The results revealed that the HPG of higher generation numbers and backbone molecular weights could benefit materials with enhanced antifouling properties and hydrophobicity. Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) is the basic component of caveolae, a specialized form of lipid raft that plays an essential role in endocytic viral entry. However, the evidence of direct involvement of caveolae and Cav-1 in avian reovirus (ARV) entry remains insufficient. In this study, the membrane lipid rafts were isolated as detergent-resistant microdomains (DRMs) by sucrose gradient centrifugation, and the capsid protein σB of ARV was found to associate with Cav-1 in DRMs fractions. Additionally, the interaction between ARV σB protein and Cav-1 was demonstrated by immunofluorescence co-localization and co-immunoprecipitation assays. Furthermore, we found that the internalization of ARV is sensitive to caveolae and dynamin inhibitors, while it is insensitive to clathrin inhibitors. In conclusion, these results indicate that the ARV σB protein interacts with Cav-1 during dynamin-dependent caveolae-mediated endocytosis for the entry of ARV. 相似文献

The mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) acts as an essential regulator of blood pressure, volume status, and electrolyte balance. However, in recent decades, a growing body of evidence has suggested that MR may also have a role in mediating pro-inflammatory, pro-oxidative, and pro-fibrotic changes in several target organs, including the adipose tissue. The finding that MR is overexpressed in the adipose tissue of patients with obesity has led to the hypothesis that this receptor can contribute to adipokine dysregulation and low-grade chronic inflammation, alterations that are linked to the development of obesity-related metabolic and cardiovascular complications. Moreover, several studies in animal models have investigated the role of MR antagonists (MRAs) in preventing the metabolic alterations observed in obesity. Evidence suggests that the source of dietary protein may have an impact on insulin resistance, but no studies have explored it in pregnant populations. In this study, we combined a population study and an animal experiment to explore this effect. The population study was conducted with data from NHANES. Multiple linear regression was used to observe the association of protein intake with outcomes, including fasting glucose (GLU), insulin (INS), and HOMA-IR. In the animal experiment, 36 pregnant SD rats in three groups were orally administered 100% animal protein, 50% animal protein and 50% plant protein, or 100% plant protein, respectively. The intervention continued throughout the whole pregnancy. On day 19.5, maternal plasma was collected after overnight fasting, and metabolomics was performed using UPLC-MS. We found plant protein intake was negatively correlated with INS and HOMA-IR in the whole population. During the third trimester, a similar correlation was also observed. The animal experiment also presented the same result. In metabolomic analysis, changes in various metabolites and related pathways including FoxO and mTOR signaling pathways were observed. In conclusion, we found a negative association between dietary plant protein intake and maternal insulin resistance during pregnancy.
