Quantum dots (QDs) have received considerable attention in information displays owing to their high quantum yield, high colour purity and low-cost fabrication. However, light emission for ultra-thin QD films with low mass percentage of QDs still need to be improved because the blue light can directly transmit the films, leading to insufficient energy to excite the QDs. In this study, we report QD films based on a poly(zinc methacrylate) coating with alloyed green-emitting CdZnSeS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs@PZnMA) together with high refractive-index BaTiO3 nanoparticles to enhance the scattering coefficient of the QD films. Results demonstrate a 7.5-fold increase in the absorption coefficient, 11.3-fold increase in the scattering coefficient, 8.5-fold increase in the optical density (OD) and 8.6-fold increase in the green-light emission of QD films, compared with films that have the same mass percentage of pristine QDs. This approach provides a promising strategy for developing QD optical films with high scattering and enhanced light emission for flexible displays.

Pharmaceutical differences between the reference listed drug (RLD) and generic formulations of piperacillin-tazobactam may impact the reconstitution process for intravenous administration. This study evaluated the RLD against three generic formulations and measured their reconstitution times using a standardized process. The mean (standard deviation [SD]) reconstitution time for one generic formulation was 5.57 (1.49) min, which was 35% to 42% longer (P < 0.002) than that for the RLD and two other formulations. Observable microscopic differences in powder particle morphology may explain these findings.  相似文献

Nuclear reprogramming enables patient-specific derivation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from adult tissue. Yet, iPS generation from patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) has not been demonstrated. Here, we report reproducible iPS derivation of epidermal keratinocytes (HK) from elderly T2D patients. Transduced with human OCT4, SOX2, KLF4 and c-MYC stemness factors under serum-free and feeder-free conditions, reprogrammed cells underwent dedifferentiation with mitochondrial restructuring, induction of endogenous pluripotency genes - including NANOG, LIN28, and TERT, and down-regulation of cytoskeletal, MHC class I- and apoptosis-related genes. Notably, derived iPS clones acquired a rejuvenated state, characterized by elongated telomeres and suppressed senescence-related p15INK4b/p16INK4a gene expression and oxidative stress signaling. Stepwise guidance with lineage-specifying factors, including Indolactam V and GLP-1, redifferentiated HK-derived iPS clones into insulin-producing islet-like progeny. Thus, in elderly T2D patients, reprogramming of keratinocytes ensures a senescence-privileged status yielding iPS cells proficient for regenerative applications.  相似文献

Removal of extensive central skull base and paranasal sinus tumors is a significant challenge that is often hampered by limited access and exposure. The safety and efficacy of the Le Fort I osteotomy approach to the skull base have been well established. The purpose of this article is to describe the use of Le fort-1I osteotomy as an access procedure to reach tumors in the nasopharyngeal region in a young patient. The large mass which he presented within the nasopharyngeal region, later diagnosed to be juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, posed a challenge for surgical access.  相似文献

Mycobacterium fortuitum is a rare cause of recurrent skin abscesses in an immunocompetent person. We report the case of a 37-year-old man presenting with multiple recurrent non-healing skin abscesses. Culture of the abscess wall yielded growth of M fortuitum. In our case, we highlight the association of anabolic steroids with non-tuberculous mycobacterial skin abscesses that fail to resolve despite repeated drainage.  相似文献
