The purposes of this study were to investigate radiographically the dental and maxillomandibular in patients with neuropsychomotor disorders and determine the role of panoramic radiographs for quantitative and qualitative analyses of dental alterations. A total of 322 panoramic radiographs from 190 males and 132 females aged 4 to 57 years were obtained from the files of the Center for Care to Patients with Special Needs (CAPE; Dental School, University of São Paulo) and subdivided into syndromes, special needs, neurological, neuromuscular or cerebral disorders, and sequels of diseases. 32% of dental alterations were in tooth position, with 69% of this group associated with tooth rotation. The mandible accounted for 54.62% of alterations. The male gender (55.85%) and the permanent dentition (78.7%) were most affected. Panoramic radiographs were proved to be well suited for quantitative evaluation of dental anomalies of epidemiological nature. Panoramic radiographs are important diagnostic resources when applied to patients with special needs because of the difficulty to place intraoral films and held them correctly positioned during the radiographic technique. 相似文献

目的 探讨Dlxl基因在牙胚发育过程中的调控作用。方法 采用外胚间充质细胞组织块培养法;地高辛标记cDNA原位杂交检测方法和斑点杂交方法,观察Dlxl基因在大鼠外胚间充质细胞,人牙乳头细胞,人牙髓细胞中的表达情况。结果 Dlxl基因在外胚间充质细胞和人牙乳头细胞中mRNA呈强阳性表达,而在牙髓细胞中弱表达。结论 Dlxl基因是牙胚发育过程中重要的调节因子,这种调控作用具有一定的时间性与空间性,它可能主要参与调控早期未分化细胞,而对终末分化细胞作用不显著。 相似文献

Genetic influences are important in the determination of mandibular morphology, and growth hormone receptor (GHR) is believed to have an important influence on the growth of craniofacial bone. In this study, we used quantitative trait locus methods to evaluate the relationship between craniofacial morphology and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in GHR in an unselected healthy Chinese population. We systematically screened the 10 exons and nearby introns of GHR and identified 6 SNPs. Using 4 SNPs as markers, we studied the relationships between genotypes and craniofacial linear measurements. Individuals with the genotype CC of polymorphism I526L had a significantly greater mandibular ramus length (condylion-gonion/ articulare-gonion) than those with genotype AC or AA. Haplotype analysis showed that there were also significant differences between the long and short mandibular height groups in an extreme population. Our results indicate that the GHR gene polymorphism I526L is associated with mandibular height in the Chinese population. 相似文献

Failures at composite resin/porcelain interfaces under shear-like loading were examined. Porcelain surfaces were treated with hydrofluoric acid and/or one of two silane coupling agents, using two different composite resin cements. The results showed that after seven days storage, bond strengths of specimens which had undergone porcelain surface treatment were greater than the cohesive strength of the porcelain itself, resulting in brittle fracture of the porcelain. The diluted restorative composite resin performed as well as the commercial composite resin cement. Silane pretreatment of porcelain was important as the bond strength of etched/silane primed specimens was significantly higher than the etched only specimens. However, one primer appeared to be more efficient than the other in bond promotion. Some explanations for the differences in bond strengths are offered. 相似文献

PURPOSE: Commercially pure titanium alloys are currently used as metallic biomaterials in implantology. Corrosion phenomena appear to play a decisive role in metallic implant long-term behavior. Thus, the goal of this study was to examine the genotoxic potential of corrosion eluates obtained from dental implants using Chinese ovary hamster cells in vitro by the single-cell gel (comet) assay. This technique detects deoxyribonucleic acid strand breaks in individual cells in alkaline conditions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The materials tested included 3 dental implants commercially available. Each of the tested materials was corroded in a solution consisting of equal amounts of acetic acid and sodium chloride (0.1 M) for 1, 3, 7, 14, and 21 days. The Chinese ovary hamster cultures were then exposed to all corrosion eluates obtained from endosseous dental implants for 30 minutes at 37 degrees C. RESULTS: None of the eluates was found to exhibit genotoxicity, regardless of the type of dental implant used. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that all dental implants tested in this study did not induce deoxyribonucleic acid breakage as depicted by the single-cell gel (comet) assay. 相似文献
