Value and importance of treatment with OTC in selected patients with marginal periodontitis

Over a period of 14 days we have treated 27 after special criterious selected patients with 250 mg OTC three times/day. We compared these results with those of 25 patients--of a placebo-group. The analysis included clinical and microbiological parameters. It could be pointed out, that the OTC-therapy results in a significant improvement of the examined parameters stile 6 months after starting with the therapy.

Tooth mobility in several age groups with reference to various periodontal diagnostic aspects]

The present study deals with a study of the tooth mobility, the pocket depth and the bone destruction in 616 periodontally healthy subjects. It was found that the mobility of the upper lateral incisor is inferior to that of the central one. Furthermore, relations of age to tooth mobility and bone destruction were established, whereas no relationship between age and pocket depth was evident.     

Chirurgische Therapie von Lungenmetastasen

Surgical treatment of lung metastases from extrathoracic malignancies is an established procedure. Pulmonary metastases are common. Generally, lung metastases are located peripherally and are asymptomatic. Involvement of the bronchial system or infiltration of the chest wall can be symptomatic. The indications for resection are an interdisciplinary decision. Metastasectomy can be with curative or palliative intent. Prerequisitess for pulmonary metastasectomy are primary tumor under control, the absence of extrathoracic metastases, the lack of other promising treatment options, the possibility for complete resection and low perioperative risk. Extra-anatomic resections are common. Perioperative morbidity and mortality is low. A cure is possible in selected patients.
