Aerospace alloys with reduced wall thickness but possessing higher hardness, good tensile strength and reasonable corrosion resistance are essential in manufacturing of structures such as fuselage. In this work, friction stir welding has been carried out on such an aerospace aluminum alloy AA8090 T87 which contains 2.3% lithium. Tool rotational speed of 900 rpm and traverse speeds of 90 mm/min., 110 mm/min. are the welding parameters. Hardness analysis, surface roughness analysis and corrosion analysis are conducted to analyze the suitability of the joint for the intended application. The samples were corrosion tested in acid alkali solution and they resulted in the formation of pits of varying levels which indicate the extent of surface degradation. Hardness of the samples was measured after corrosion analysis to observe the changes. The analysis suggests that the change in tool traverse speed transformed the corrosion behavior of the joint and affected both the hardness and surface roughness which mitigated the quality of the joint. 相似文献

Light chain (AL) amyloidosis is caused by a small B-cell clone producing light chains that form amyloid deposits and cause organ dysfunction. Chemotherapy aims at suppressing the production of the toxic light chain (LC) and restore organ function. However, even complete hematologic response (CR), defined as negative serum and urine immunofixation and normalized free LC ratio, does not always translate into organ response. Next-generation flow (NGF) cytometry is used to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) in multiple myeloma. We evaluated MRD by NGF in 92 AL amyloidosis patients in CR. Fifty-four percent had persistent MRD (median 0.03% abnormal plasma cells). There were no differences in baseline clinical variables in patients with or without detectable MRD. Undetectable MRD was associated with higher rates of renal (90% vs 62%, p = 0.006) and cardiac response (95% vs 75%, p = 0.023). Hematologic progression was more frequent in MRD positive (0 vs 25% at 1 year, p = 0.001). Altogether, NGF can detect MRD in approximately half the AL amyloidosis patients in CR, and persistent MRD can explain persistent organ dysfunction. Thus, this study supports testing MRD in CR patients, especially if not accompanied by organ response. OBJECTIVE: To highlight the importance of taking the psychological, social and biological aspects into consideration when dealing with somatic complaints of spinal cord injured patients. SETTING: Supra-regional Spinal Injury Unit in the UK. STUDY DESIGN: Case study series. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The somatic complaints of four patients with spinal cord injury were assessed and their relationship to psychological and social issues were correlated. Two patients suffered unexplained pain, another excessive spasm uncontrolled with intrathecal Baclofen pump and the fourth with several pressure sores, constipation and other physical problems. The impact of psychosocial issues on the somatic complaints were analysed. RESULTS: In all four patients the resolution of their psychosocial issues resulted in significant gains vis-à-vis their somatic complaints. CONCLUSION: Psychological and social issues of spinal injury patients could have a serious impact on the resolution of somatic complaints. The growing demand for precise and reliable biomarkers in psychiatry is fueling research interest in the hope that identifying quantifiable indicators will improve diagnoses and treatment planning across a range of mental health conditions. The individual properties of brain networks at rest have been highlighted as a possible source for such biomarkers, with the added advantage that they are relatively straightforward to obtain. However, an important prerequisite for their consideration is their reproducibility. While the reliability of resting‐state (RS) measurements has often been studied at standard field strengths, they have rarely been investigated using ultrahigh‐field (UHF) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems. We investigated the intersession stability of four functional MRI RS parameters—amplitude of low‐frequency fluctuations (ALFF) and fractional ALFF (fALFF; representing the spontaneous brain activity), regional homogeneity (ReHo; measure of local connectivity), and degree centrality (DC; measure of long‐range connectivity)—in three RS networks, previously shown to play an important role in several psychiatric diseases—the default mode network (DMN), the central executive network (CEN), and the salience network (SN). Our investigation at individual subject space revealed a strong stability for ALFF, ReHo, and DC in all three networks, and a moderate level of stability in fALFF. Furthermore, the internetwork connectivity between each network pair was strongly stable between CEN/SN and moderately stable between DMN/SN and DMN/SN. The high degree of reliability and reproducibility in capturing the properties of the three major RS networks by means of UHF‐MRI points to its applicability as a potentially useful tool in the search for disease‐relevant biomarkers. 相似文献

The adapter protein Shc has been implicated in mitogenic signaling via growth factor receptors, antigen receptors and cytokine receptors. Recent studies have suggested that tyrosine phosphorylation of Shc may play a key role in T lymphocyte proliferation via interaction of phosphorylated Shc with downstream molecules involved in activation of Ras and Myc proteins. However, the sites on Shc that are tyrosine phosphorylated in response to TCR engagement and the ability of different T cell tyrosine kinases to phosphorylate Shc have not been defined. In this report, we show that during TCR signaling, the tyrosines Y239, Y240 and Y317 of Shc are the primary sites of tyrosine phosphorylation. Mutation of all three tyrosines completely abolished tyrosine phosphorylation of Shc following TCR stimulation. Our data also suggest that multiple T cell tyrosine kinases contribute to tyrosine phosphorylation on Shc. In T cells, CD4/Lck-dependent tyrosine phosphorylation on Shc was markedly diminished when Y317 was mutated, suggesting a preference of Lck for the Y317 site. The syk-family kinases (Syk and ZAP-70) were able to phosphorylate the Y239 and Y240 sites, and less efficiently the Y317 site. Moreover, co-expression of Syk or ZAP-70 with Lck resulted in enhanced phosphorylation of Shc on all three sites, suggesting a synergy between the syk -family and scr -family kinases. Of the two potential Grb2 binding sites (Y239 and Y317), Y239 appears to play a greater role in recruiting Sos through Grb2. Consistent findings postulate disturbed glutamatergic function (more specifically a hypofunction of the ionotropic NMDA receptors) as an important pathophysiologic mechanism in schizophrenia. However, the role of the metabotropic glutamatergic receptors type 5 (mGluR5) in this disease remains unclear. In this study, we investigated their significance (using [11C]ABP688) for psychopathology and cognition in male patients with chronic schizophrenia and healthy controls. In the patient group, lower mGluR5 binding potential (BPND) values in the left temporal cortex and caudate were associated with higher general symptom levels (negative and depressive symptoms), lower levels of global functioning and worse cognitive performance. At the same time, in both groups, mGluR5 BPND were significantly lower in smokers (F[27,1] = 15.500; p = .001), but without significant differences between the groups. Our findings provide support for the concept that the impaired function of mGluR5 underlies the symptoms of schizophrenia. They further supply a new perspective on the complex relationship between tobacco addiction and schizophrenia by identifying glutamatergic neurotransmission—in particularly mGluR5—as a possible connection to a shared vulnerability. 相似文献
