Copolymerization of propene with 1-octene (1 mol/1 mol) was performed in toluene at 40°C in the presence of homogeneous methylaluminoxane (MAO)-activated ansa-metallocenes in order to study the role of benzannelation and 2-methyl-substitution of the silylene-bridged bisindenyl ligand on comonomer incoporation, molecular mass, molecular mass distribution, and end groups. While 2-methyl-substitution promoted higher degree of polymerization without affecting copolymerization parameters, benzannelation improved markedly 1-octene incorporation. Only with MAO-activated rac-Me2Si(2-MeBenz[e]Ind)2ZrCl2 catalysts vinylidene end groups were formed exclusively. Molecular weight distribution remains narrow in all experiments.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) play a less important role in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) than visually evoked potentials. Since standard SEPs only reflect the dorsal column function, we now investigated spinothalamic tract function in patients with MS using laser-evoked potentials (LEPs). METHODS: LEPs to thulium laser stimuli (3ms, 540 mJ, 5mm diameter) were recorded from 3 midline positions (Fz, Cz, Pz) in 20 patients with MS, and 6 patients with possible but unconfirmed MS. Peak latencies and peak-to-peak amplitude of the vertex potential negativity (N2) and positivity (P2) were evaluated and compared with normative values from 22 healthy control subjects. Median and tibial nerve SEPs were recorded with standard methods. Depending on the results of sensory testing, two skin areas (both hands, both feet, or one hand and foot of the same body side) were assessed in each patient. RESULTS: In group comparisons, LEPs in patients with MS were significantly delayed and reduced in amplitude compared with healthy subjects (P<0.001) or patients with suspected but unconfirmed MS (P<0.05). In intraindividual comparisons within the patients with MS, LEP amplitude was significantly lower (P<0.01) and latencies were significantly longer (N2: P<0.01; P2: P<0.05) for a clinically hypoalgesic skin area than an unaffected control area. On a single case basis, LEPs were abnormal in 12 (60%) and SEPs in 8 (40%) of the patients with MS; combined analysis of LEPs and SEPs raised sensitivity to 75% (15 patients). LEPs were also abnormal for 7 skin areas with clinically normal nociception and thermal sensitivity, indicating subclinical lesions. Standard SEPs detected subclinical lesions in 5 areas with normal tactile sensitivity. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with multiple sclerosis, spinothalamic tract function and LEPs were impaired more often than dorsal column function and SEPs. LEPs also detected subclinical lesions. Combined assessment of LEPs and SEPs can help to document dissemination of demyelinating CNS lesions and thus contribute to the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.  相似文献

The effect of exposure to toluene on plasma concentrations of testosterone, prolactin, luteinising (LH) and follicle stimulating (FSH) hormones was investigated in 47 rotogravure printers (time weighted average air toluene below 80 ppm; blood toluene concentration post-shift 0.19-7.99 mumol/l) and compared with a reference group. Increasing exposure concentrations of toluene (concentrations less than 5 to greater than 45 ppm) were significantly associated with decreasing plasma concentrations of LH (tau = -0.21, p = 0.003) and testosterone (tau = -0.25, p = 0.02). No correlation was found between cumulative exposure (ppm x years) and plasma hormone concentrations. The associations with exposure were present even when nine printers with heavy alcohol consumption were excluded. The study indicates an effect of low toluene exposure on the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, with a secondary decrease in testosterone secretion.  相似文献

Flow-independent angiography (FIA), an approach that isolates arterial blood using MR relaxation characteristics rather than flow effects, was evaluated for application in peripheral vascular disease (PVD). First, pilot studies were conducted in which FIA coronal projection images were obtained from controls and symptomatic patients with PVD to assess clinical utility. All control images corresponded to the expected leg arterial anatomy with little interference from deep veins (one of five) and muscle (zero of five). Superficial venous signal was less well suppressed in comparison to deep veins (four of five). Images of symptomatic patients were less consistent with difficulty suppressing muscle and deep venous signal in some cases and edema when present. We then compared T2 values for muscle (T2m, tibialis anterior), arterial blood (femoral and popliteal arteries), and venous blood (femoral, popliteal, and saphenous veins) in controls (n = 8) and symptomatic patients with intermittent claudication (n = 5) or ischemic rest pain (n = 7). Changes in T2 measurements of various tissues accounted for poorer contrast in symptomatic patients. Patients with ischemic rest pain had significantly higher T2m compared with controls (T2m = 39.3 ± 2.1 (1 standard error of the mean [SEM]) versus 30.9 ± .4, P < .01). For all measurements, other than saphenous vein, variances were greater in symptomatic patients. To realize the inherent advantages of FIA for this clinical application, additional work on suppression of signals from muscle, veins, and edema is required. One promising approach involves shifting from projection images to three-dimensional acquisitions for improved tissue suppression.  相似文献

At our hospital 15 cases of leukaemic reticuloendotheliosis and 4 cases of Legionnaires' disease have been diagnosed. 3 patients had both diseases. The clinical findings are reported. It is probable that patients with leukaemic reticuloendotheliosis have an increased susceptibility to Legionnaires' disease. Possible reasons for the decreased resistance are discussed.  相似文献

The immunomodulating 2-cyanaziridine derivatives BM 12.531 (azimexone) and BM 41.332 have no effects on the total amount of T-lymphocytes in the spleen of mice but ingrease dose-dependently the percentage of Ly1--, 2+, 3+ T-lymphocytes (killer/suppressor) and decrease the percentage of Ly1+, 2--, (helper) cells. These investigations were carried out by means of specific monoclonal antibodies and fluoreqcence-activated cell sorting. The increase in Ly2+-cells is mainly due to increased suppressor activity.  相似文献
