The aim of this article is to identify the social representations of the users of operative groups about health and the physical therapy role in the health/disease process, as well as to verify how the representations of the users are related to the purposes of these groups. The present study was developed under a qualitative approach using the semi-structured interview. Users of the "Quality of Life" project from four basic health units of the city of Divinópolis, Minas Gerais State, were interviewed. The interviews were recorded and transcribed in order to preserve the totality of the statements. The analysis of the data was performed based on the thematic units. The main themes that emerged were: health as absence of disease, dependency of the group, physical therapy linked to physical rehabilitation and to health promotion, physical therapy linked to the psychological improvement and humanization of the physical therapy assistance. The knowledge of the social representations of the users from the "Quality of Life" project reinforces the need of the participation of the population in the development, accomplishment and evaluation of the health programs in order to reach coherence between the user expectations and the purposes of the program.  相似文献

We describe a simple, rapid, precise, and sensitive spectrophotometric method for measuring urinary glycosaminoglycan (GAG) sulfate excretion. The GAG sulfates are precipitated with cetylpyridinium chloride, resuspended in water, and mixed with the basic dye 1,9-dimethylmethylene blue to produce a complex with the polyanionic molecule of sulfated GAGs. Absorbance is read at 535 nm. The standard curve for reaction was linear up to 12 micrograms of the different GAGs: dermatan sulfate, heparan sulfate, keratan sulfate, chondroitin 4-sulfate, and chondroitin 6-sulfate. Within- and between-run precision (CV), measured at three different GAG concentrations (normal and pathological), varied from 1.6% to 2.5% and from 1.8% to 4.5%, respectively. Analytical recovery ranged from 71% to 107%. Urinary GAG excretion, measured by this procedure, correlates (r = 0.837; p less than 0.001) with the values obtained with the borate-carbazole reaction (Anal Biochem 1962;4:330-4).  相似文献

Objective

Previous studies have reported consistent associations between Neuroticism, maladaptive perfectionism and depression with severity of fatigue in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Depression has been considered a mediator factor between maladaptive perfectionism and fatigue severity, but no studies have explored the role of neuroticism in a comparable theoretical framework. This study aims to examine for the first time, the role of neuroticism, maladaptive perfectionism and depression on the severity of CFS, analyzing several explanation models.

Methods

A sample of 229 CFS patients were studied comparing four structural equation models, testing the role of mediation effect of depression severity in the association of Neuroticism and/or Maladaptive perfectionism on fatigue severity.

Results

The model considering depression severity as mediator factor between Neuroticism and fatigue severity is the only one of the explored models where all the structural modeling indexes have fitted satisfactorily (Chi square = 27.01, p = 0.079; RMSE = 0.047, CFI = 0.994; SRMR = 0.033). Neuroticism is associated with CFS by the mediation effect of depression severity. This personality variable constitutes a more consistent factor than maladaptive perfectionism in the conceptualization of CFS severity.  相似文献

Endobronchial lipoma is a very rare benign tumor. The most frequent clinical presentation is caused by airway obstruction. A computed tomography finding of a homogeneous mass with fat density not enhanced by intravenous contrast material is considered diagnostic of this kind of tumor. The definitive diagnosis is given by bronchoscopy and biopsy. The treatment of choice is endoscopic resection, although open resection is sometimes required. We present a case of endobronchial lipoma that involved the left main bronchus and extended through the bronchial carina. Endoscopic treatment was initially attempted. However, open resection through superior lobectomy with carinal resection and a bronchoplastic procedure were required to avoid left pneumonectomy.  相似文献

A validation study of an Italian version of the "ID Migraine"   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
BACKGROUND: Migraine is a highly prevalent and disabling disease which is substantially underdiagnosed in primary care. Recently, the ID Migraine, a self-administered questionnaire, consisting of only 3 items, was shown to be a valid and reliable screening instrument for migraine in primary care in the United States. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the present study was to validate an Italian version of the "ID Migraine" questionnaire. METHODS: Two hundred and twenty-two consecutive headache patients referring to 8 headache centers in Sicily (Italy) completed an Italian version of the ID Migraine. The responses to the questionnaire were compared with the diagnosis of headache made by a headache specialist blind to the result of the questionnaire. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values for migraine were calculated. RESULTS: The statistical analysis of 222 patients examined showed a very good performance of the ID Migraine with high sensitivity: 0.95 (95% CI, 0.91 to 0.98), specificity: 0.72 (95% CI, 0.62 to 0.82), and positive predictive value: 0.88 (95% CI, 0.82 to 0.93). ID Migraine showed also a very good accuracy level: 0.87 (95% CI, 0.83 to 0.92). CONCLUSION: This validation study showed "ID Migraine" as a valid tool for migraine screening also in Italian patients referring to headache centers. If confirmed in a primary care setting, these results establish the "ID Migraine" as a valid screening instrument for migraine in Italian population.  相似文献

Pridopidine is a selective Sigma-1 receptor (S1R) agonist in clinical development for Huntington disease (HD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. S1R is a chaperone protein localized in mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membranes, a signaling platform that regulates Ca2+ signaling, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial fission. Here, we investigate the protective effects of pridopidine on various mitochondrial functions in human and mouse HD models. Pridopidine effects on mitochondrial dynamics were assessed in primary neurons from YAC128 HD mice expressing the mutant human HTT gene. We observe that pridopidine prevents the disruption of mitochondria-ER contact sites and improves the co-localization of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP3R) and its chaperone S1R with mitochondria in YAC128 neurons, leading to increased mitochondrial activity, elongation, and motility. Increased mitochondrial respiration is also observed in YAC128 neurons and in pridopidine-treated HD human neural stem cells (hNSCs). ROS levels were assessed after oxidative insult or S1R knockdown in pridopidine-treated YAC128 neurons, HD hNSCs, and human HD lymphoblasts. All HD models show increased ROS levels and deficient antioxidant response, which are efficiently rescued with pridopidine. Importantly, pridopidine treatment before H2O2-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and S1R presence are required for HD cytoprotection. YAC128 mice treated at early/pre-symptomatic age with pridopidine show significant improvement in motor coordination, indicating a delay in symptom onset. Additionally, in vivo pridopidine treatment reduces mitochondrial ROS levels by normalizing mitochondrial complex activity. In conclusion, S1R-mediated enhancement of mitochondrial function contributes to the neuroprotective effects of pridopidine, providing insight into its mechanism of action and therapeutic potential.Supplementary InformationThe online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s13311-021-01022-9.  相似文献
