防治血吸虫病药物的研究Ⅳ.几个口服锑剂的合成

Wiley在1951年合成了一类毒性较低和口服有效的锑剂硫代水杨酸氯化锑化合物(Ⅰ),我们曾重复制备I_a及I_b,提供动物试验.文献曾报导氨基化合物的锑络合物对动物感染日本血吸虫病有口服疗效.综合文献的结果,我们考虑含有巯基的杂环化合物可能与锑形成较稳定的化合物,这样也许会减轻毒性及副作用,同时口服后可能易于掌握其肠胃道吸收规律,因此,我们用三氯化锑与2-甲基-1,3-二氮茚及2-巯基-1,3-硫氮茚分别在苯中加热,生成相应的含锑化合物Ⅱ及Ⅲ.其结构尚未能肯定.     

Long-term results of the surgical treatment of spinal dermoid and epidermoid tumors

The clinical findings and the results of surgical treatment in 16 patients with spinal dermoid or epidermoid tumors are reported. In 9 patients the tumor capsule adhered so tightly to the nervous tissue that part of it was left in situ. In a follow-up study ranging from 5 to 30 years with a mean of 14.2 years only 1 patient had a recurrence of the tumor and 10 patients resumed a normal working life.     

Purification and subunit structure studies of human placental threonyl-tRNA synthetase

Human threonyl-tRNA synthetase has been purified from full-term placenta over 5000-fold with a 13% overall yield by a combination of affinity chromatographic methods and conventional procedures. The product was apparently homogeneous by the criterion of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The purified enzyme catalyzed the esterification of ? 3500 nmol L-threonine to tRNA per min per mg of protein at 37°, corresponding to a molecular activity of ? 700/min. The apparent molecular weight of the native enzyme ranged from 210 000 to 220 000 by gel-filtration on Sephadex G-200, and was either ? 110 000 or 228 000 by sucrose gradient centrifugation for different preparations. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis demonstrated a single band of molecular weight 85 000 or 115 000 for different preparations. These results suggest that human placental threonyl-tRNA synthetase has a subunit structure of the type α₂ with a subunit molecular weight of about 100 000. However, some other molecular forms with lower specific activity were also found to exist under certain conditions.     

Pseudoglandular schwannoma of the cauda equina. Case report

The authors present a case of pseudoglandular schwannoma with immunohistochemical findings consistent with epithelial metaplasia. Pseudoglandular schwannoma is a rare morphological variant of benign schwannoma characterized by the presence of glandlike structures lined with Schwann cells. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is only the fifth case of pseudoglandular schwannoma reported in the literature. Clinical, imaging, and pathological findings are described. The pathological findings were consistent with a pseudoglandular schwannoma composed of typical Schwann cells arranged in an Antoni B pattern, with numerous large pseudocystic spaces. Serial immunohistochemical studies of tissue sections revealed that the cells lining the pseudoglandular spaces were not only diffusely reactive for S100 protein, but also demonstrated focal positivity for epithelial membrane antigen and cytokeratins AE and AE3. The particular immunohistochemical features of incompletely differentiated Schwann cells in the present case give support to the metaplastic theory of the origin of glandlike structures in benign peripheral nerve sheath tumors.
