The design of a novel band-pass filter with narrow-band features based on an electromagnetic resonator at 6.4 GHz is presented. A prototype is manufactured and characterized in terms of transmission and reflection coefficient. The selective passband and suppression of the second harmonic make the filter suitable to be used in a C band frequency range for radar systems and satellite/terrestrial applications. To avoid substantial interference for this kind of applications, passive components with narrow band features and small dimensions are required. Between 3.6 GHz and 4.2 GHz the band-pass filter with harmonic suppression should have an attenuation of at least 35 dB, whereas for a passband, less than 10% is sufficient.  相似文献

Most cardiopulmonary diseases share at least one symptom with pulmonary embolism (PE). The aim of this study was to identify the most common acute causes of dyspnea, chest pain, fainting or palpitations, which diagnostic procedures were performed and whether clinicians investigate them appropriately. An Italian multicenter collaboration gathered 17,497 Emergency Department (ED) records of patients admitted from January 2007 to June 2007 in six hospitals. A block random sampling procedure was applied to select 800 hospitalised patients. Results of the overall 17,497 patients were obtained by weighting sampled cases according to the probability of the randomisation block variables in the whole population. The case-mix of enrolled patients was assessed in terms of cardiopulmonary symptoms, and the prevalence of acute disorders. The actual performance of procedures was compared with a measure of their accuracy as expected in the most common clinical presentations. PE occurred in less than 4% of patients with cardiopulmonary symptoms. Acute heart failure, pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation were the most likely diagnoses in patients with dyspnea. Acute myocardial infarction was present in roughly 10% of patients with chest pain. Atrial fibrillation was the prevalent diagnosis in patients with palpitations. Echocardiography, computed tomographic pulmonary angiography, perfusion lung scan, D-dimer test and B-type natriuretic peptide were performed less than expected from their accuracy. Diagnostic strategies, starting from non-specific symptoms and coping with the eventuality of PE, are likely to benefit from an increased awareness of the examination’s accuracy in discriminating among several competing hypotheses, rather than in testing the single PE suspicion.  相似文献

The reversibility of viable dysfunctional myocardium after revascularization is variable and the reasons for this are unknown. Using 2D-DIGE, we tested the hypothesis that this could reflect the extent of molecular remodeling of myocardial tissue in the absence of infarction. Swine with a progressive left anterior descending (LAD) stenosis were studied 2 months (n = 18) or 3 months (n = 22) post-instrumentation. Coronary flow reserve (vasodilated/rest) was severely reduced at 2 months (LAD 2.6 ± 0.4 versus 5.1 ± 0.4 in normal, p < 0.05) and became critically impaired after 3 months (LAD 1.1 ± 0.2, p < 0.05 vs. 2 months). Despite progression in stenosis severity, reductions in wall thickening at 2 months (LAD 37 ± 4 % vs. remote 86 ± 9 %, p < 0.05) were unchanged at 3 months (LAD 32 ± 3 %, p = ns). Contractile dysfunction was primarily related to reductions (LAD/normal) in contractile proteins which were not affected by stenosis severity (e.g., troponin T, 2 months 0.82 ± 0.03 vs. 0.74 ± 0.03 at 3 months, p-ns). In contrast, mitochondrial function and proteins were normal at 2 months but declined with progression to a critical stenosis (state 3 respiration at 3 months 145 ± 13 vs. 216 ± 5 ng-atoms O2 mg?1 min?1 at 2 months, p < 0.05). In a similar fashion, increases in stress (e.g., αB-crystalline 2.13 ± 0.2 vs. 1.17 ± 0.13 at 2 months, p < 0.05) and cytoskeletal proteins (e.g., desmin 1.63 ± 0.12 vs. 1.24 ± 0.10 at 2 months, p < 0.05) only developed with more advanced remodeling from a critical stenosis. We conclude that similar degrees of chronic contractile dysfunction can have diverse intrinsic molecular adaptations to ischemia. This spectrum of adaptations may underlie variability in the time course and extent of reversibility in viable chronically dysfunctional myocardium after revascularization.  相似文献

The oral intake of 2.6μCi of methyl-mercuric nitrate Hg 203 by three clinically healthy, white, male volunteers aged 37 to 44 years resulted in an accumulation in the liver and the head of the 203Hg. The main excretory route was the feces but the urinary excretion increased with time up to 30 days after the intake. The biological half-life was found with whole body measurements to be 70 to 74 days. The decline of 203Hg in the head was less rapid than in the rest of the body. No 203Hg was found in the sperm. A very rapid uptake was found in the erythrocytes. The main activity was localized in the liver (about 50% of the contents of the body) whereas the head contained about 10% of the total body content. After infinite time a weekly unit dose of methyl mercuric nitrate Hg 203 will result in a whole body burden of 15.2 units mercury.  相似文献

The migraine headache is a common form of head and neck pain, which varies in its clinical expression, the factors that cause it, and the therapeutic approaches to its treatment and prevention. Although thought to be vascular in nature, the migraine has a considerable muscular component that is involved in its painful sequelae. Since at present there seems to be a continuum between migraine and muscular headache, the occlusal splint may prove to be an important therapic adjunct in treating migraine's painful sequelae.  相似文献

Recent evidence suggests that miRNAs could be used as serum markers in a variety of normal and pathological conditions. In this study, we aimed to identify novel miRNAs associated with skeletal metastatic disease in a preclinical model of lung cancer bone metastasis. We assessed the validity of these miRNAs as reliable serum biochemical markers to monitor the extent of disease and response to treatment in comparison to imaging techniques and standard biochemical markers of bone turnover. Using a murine model of human lung cancer bone metastasis after zoledronic acid (ZA) treatment, PINP (procollagen I amino-terminal propeptide) was the only marker that exhibited a strong correlation with osteolytic lesions and tumor burden at early and late stages of bone colonization. In contrast, BGP (osteocalcin) and CTX (carboxyterminal telopeptide) demonstrated a strong correlation only at late stages. We performed qPCR based screening of a panel of 380 human miRNAs and quantified bone metastatic burden using micro-CT scans, X-rays and bioluminescence imaging. Interestingly, levels of miR-326 strongly associated with tumor burden and PINP in vehicle-treated animals, whereas no association was found in ZA-treated animals. Only miR-193 was associated with biochemical markers PINP, BGP and CTX in ZA-treated animals. Consistently, miR-326 and PINP demonstrated a strong correlation with tumor burden. Our findings, taken together, indicate that miR-326 could potentially serve as a novel biochemical marker for monitoring bone metastatic progression.  相似文献

The authors report the case of a 4-year-old boy with a diagnosis of stage IV neuroblastoma (NB), who had been treated with 6 cycles of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, cisplatin, and etoposide for 12 months. The patient reached partial remission and presented a diagnosis of acute myelomonocytic leukemia (M4 AML), confirmed by immunophenotyping. After 2 months of therapy for leukemia, the child died with both malignancies in activity. A necropsy histologically confirmed the simultaneity of the two diseases. The authors review the possibilities of this association. The review leads to the conclusion that AML can occur as a secondary malignancy after the onset of the neuroblastoma, or be suggested by a misdiagnosis. The simultaneous occurrence of both as described here is not, however, found in the literature, to the best of the authors' knowledge.  相似文献
