经单鼻孔-蝶窦入路切除垂体腺瘤

近年来,经鼻蝶入路有被广泛应用和普及的趋势,其应用中又分为经鼻小柱中隔入路、经鼻前庭中隔入路、经单鼻孔中隔蝶窦入路和经单鼻孔直接蝶窦入路的不同方式[1~4]。我科自2003年11月至2004年4月,采用经单鼻孔中隔蝶窦入路对15例垂体腺瘤患者施行了手术治疗,效果理想,现报告如下     

Plasma amino acid concentrations in geriatric control and hip-fracture patients.

Changes in plasma amino acids, 24-h nitrogen balances, and resting metabolic expenditures (RMEs) were measured in 10 geriatric patients (aged 70-92 y) with hip fracture 1 d after surgical fixation during both a 24-h fasting state and while receiving total peripheral parenteral nutrition (TPPN) for 24 h at 1.5 g amino acids.kg-1.d-1 and 29-30 kcal.kg-1.d-1 and compared with 19 healthy volunteer subjects (aged 70-84 y). RME and 24-h urinary nitrogen losses were also elevated in the trauma patients during both fasting and TPPN. Positive nitrogen balances were evident in both groups during TPPN. Plasma total amino acid concentration was significantly lower in the trauma patients because of lower plasma concentrations of the nonessential amino acids. Phenylalanine and methionine concentrations were significantly higher and lysine lower in the trauma group. In addition, evaluation of the essential amino acid ratios after fasting and TPPN reveal that there are no limiting amino acids during TPPN.     

不同部位静脉注射对无痛人工流产术的影响

目的 :观察不同部位静脉注射对无痛人工流产术的影响。方法 :随机将 2 0 0例要求行无痛人工流产术的患者分成二组 ,一组静脉注射部位为手背静脉组 ,另一组静脉注射部位为肘部浅静脉 (贵要静脉或肘正中静脉 )组 ,观察静脉推注异丙酚时患者的注射部位有无疼痛症状。结果 :肘部浅静脉注射部位疼痛感明显轻于手背静脉 ,肘部浅静脉注射部位的麻醉起效时间快于手背静脉 ,两组差异有显著性 (P <0 0 5 )。结论 :选择肘部浅静脉注射异丙酚可减轻患者注射部位的疼痛 ,可在短时间内取得理想的麻醉效果。     

广西巴马长寿乡壮族长寿老人永生细胞库的建立

目的：建立广西巴马长寿乡壮族长寿老人永生细胞库。方法：使用EB病毒转化外周血B淋巴细胞方法。结果：建立了长寿者外周血细胞转化永生细胞株的方法，转化成功率77．4％。建立了65株长寿老人、直系亲属永生细胞株及长寿老人资料库和完整的细胞株档案。结论：广西巴马长寿乡壮族长寿老人永生细胞库的建立为永久保存细胞系及后续研究提供了必要的基础。     

Dislocation of an upper third molar into the maxillary sinus after a severe trauma: a case report

Abstract – Dental injuries are common following facial trauma. This article presents a rare injury: the dislocation of a third molar into the maxillary sinus after complex mandibular and maxillary tuberosity fractures. The possible mechanism and clinical treatment are discussed.     

Immature Megakaryocytes in the Mouse: Morphology and quantitation by acetylcholinesterase staining

Three types of immature megakaryocytes, detected by their morphological properties, have been characterized in bone marrow of normal C57BL/6 mice. Morphological classification of these cells was carried out by determining (1) presence and relative amount of acetylcholinesterase, (2) cell size, (3) nuclear/cytoplasm ratio, and (4) nuclear shape. The immature megakaryocytes were classified as: (A) cells distinguished by a round nucleus (10.6 +/- 1.1 mu diameter; mean +/- SEM), which had the highest nucleus / cytoplasm ratio and lowest content of acetylcholinesterase; (B) cells with an indented nucleus (13.0 +/- 1.9 mu diameter), which had increased acetylcholinesterase content and reduced nucleus/cytoplasm ratio compared to the round-nucleus cell type; and (C) lobed-nucleus cells (14.5 +/- 2.9 mu diameter), which showed further increase in acetylcholinesterase content and reduction in nucleus/cytoplasm ratio. Increased numbers of immature megakaryocytes were detected, indicating that a proportion of these cells are undetected using conventional staining techniques. Based on the observed alterations in size, acetylcholinesterase content, and nuclear complexity, it was concluded that these cells constitute part of a progressive maturation sequence intermediate between the progenitor cell (CFU-Mk) and mature easily recognizable megakaryocytes.     

‘The broken halo sign’: a fractured calcified ring as an unusual sign of traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta

Two elderly patients, involved in separate motor vehicle accidents, sustained blunt chest injury resulting in rupture of their thoracic aortas. The initial chest radiographs showed the presence of a calcified ring fractured in two places with lateral displacement of a calcified fragment by haematoma. This ‘broken halo sign’ is a radiographic sign not previously well described in the literature. The presence of a disrupted aortic ring in the elderly patient, associated with the appropriate mechanism of injury, should alert the clinician to the potential diagnosis of traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta (TRTA).
