Abstract In the present study, the effect of methamphetamine (MAP) on histamine (HA) release measured by in vivo brain microdialysis in the rat hypothalamus was investigated. Administration of MAP (3 mg/kg) significantly increase HA release from 40 to 160 min after the injection. This finding suggests that a moderate dose of MAP activates the hypothalamic HA neuron system, which may be related to effects of MAP on intrinsic biological rhythms.  相似文献

Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDHC) deficiency is known to cause congenital lactic acidosis. The case of a 9-month-old female infant with PDHC deficiency caused by a mutation in exon 11 of the pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) Elα gene is described. Her facial features were as follows: frontal bossing, upslanting palpebral fissures, a short upturned nose, a long philtrum and low set ears. These anomalies are characteristic not only of a malformation syndrome or chromosomal aberration, but also of PDHC deficiency. Because PDHC deficiency requires early treatment, metabolic disorders should be kept in mind in a patient with dysmorphic features. Further, she had multiple minor anomalies including bilateral inguinal herniae, an umbilical hernia and small hands and feet, which have not been described in previous reports.  相似文献

Abstract The diurnal change in baseline fetal heart rate (FHR) of four anencephalic fetuses at 20, 23, 24 and 30 weeks of gestation were examined. The mean baseline FHR in 00.00–06.00 h, 06.00–12.00 h, 12.00–18.00 h and 18.00–24.00 h were compared by one-factor ANOVA and Scheffe's test in each case. The diurnal variations in baseline FHR were recognized in all subjects ( P < 0.01). In 3/4 subjects, the lowest values were at 00.00–06.00 h. The diurnal variation in baseline FHR might be caused by maternal factors because it was present even in the anencephalic fetuses that had no central nervous system having the oscillators of the circadian rhythm.  相似文献

Thrombosis of the innominate vein and SVC is a serious complication in patients with pacemakers, inducing puhnonary embolism or SVC syndrome. Venography is the definitive method for its diagnosis; however, it is too invasive for related studies. The purpose of this study was to validate sonography, pulse Doppler, and color flow in detecting noninvasively innominate vein or SVC thrombosis in patients with pacemakers. In 53 patients with pacemakers, the 1 severe SVC stenosis and 18 severe innominate vein stenoses due to thrombosis were diagnosed by digital subtraction angiography. Sonography accurately showed the severe SVC stenosis due to thrombosis, but had limitations on the innominate vein thrombosis. Color flow demonstrated mosaic flow, indicating poststenotic turbulence due to stenosis of the innominate vein and SVC caused by thrombosis in 15 of 16 patients, and pulse Doppler disclosed absence of flow due to complete occlusion of the innominate vein in 2 of 2 patients. Sensitivity and specificity for detecting severe innominate vein stenosis due to thrombosis using combined color flow and pulse Doppler was 94% and 100%, respectively. In conclusion, sonography, pulse Doppler, and color flow allow accurate detection of severe innominate vein or SVC stenosis due to thrombosis, and are therefore useful for the follow-up of patients with a pacemaker.  相似文献

A 66-year-old female with liver cirrhosis was treated by transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) for a small hepatocellular carcinoma. She developed steatonecrosis with tenderness which occurred in the upper abdomen after TAE. The hepatic falciform artery from the middle hepatic artery was detected by arteriography. Necrosis in the upper abdomen was considered to be due to ischaemic changes caused by micromaterials for embolization of this artery, injuries of hepatic arterial endothelia slowly caused by carcinostatics, and chemotoxicity. It was considered that such complication as observed in this patient should be taken into consideration when performing TAE.  相似文献

We report a 14 month old male infant with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome who became ‘anuric’ due to an acutely dilated urinary bladder. Although the patient was also found to have megacolon, no diverticulum was seen in his gastrointestinal tract or urinary bladder. In order to decompress the urinary bladder and colonic wall, we put an indwelling urinary catheter in place for 2 months, and carried out daily glycerin enema for 3 months. All urological and gastrointestinal symptoms subsided with this intensive medical treatment. The diagnosis of megacystis and megacolon was made very early in life for this patient. This may indicate that the striking extension of gastrointestinal and bladder wall may lead to the development of diverticula of gastrointestinal and urinary tracts in later life.  相似文献

A rapid diagnostic system for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) was developed based on an urease analyser using a pH-sensitive field effect transistor (pH-FET). The system is composed of a solid-phase capillary-tube and a pH-measuring cell. The solid-phase tube, with an inner diameter 0.55 mm and coated with a monoclonal antibody against H. pylori's urease, was used to selectively capture the urease in endoscopically collected gastric mucus. The urease activity on the inner surface of the solid-phase tube was measured by coupling it with ph-FET in a pH measuring cell containing urea solution. Before immuno reaction in the solid-phase, gastric mucus was diluted with a phosphate buffered saline containing 1% n-octylglucoside, which was effective for accelerating the release of active urease from H. pylori's cells suspended in the sample solution. As a result of preliminary evaluations, it was found that the clinical sensitivity and specificity were 100 and 86%, respectively, using a bacteriological test as a reference.  相似文献
