Chlorohydroxyfuranones (CHFs) are mutagenic disinfection by-productsfound in chlorine-treated drinking water. In the current study,the genotoxicity of four CHFs, 3,4-dichloro-5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone(MCA), 3-chloro-4-methyl-5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone (MCF), 3-chloro-4-(chloromethyl)-5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone(CMCF) and 3-chloro-4-(dichloromethyl)-5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone(MX), was determined. Two in vitro assays, the microscale micronucleusassay on L5178Y mouse lymphoma cells and the unscheduled DNAsynthesis assay on a hepatocyte primary culture from FisherF344 rats, were carried out. All four CHFs demonstrated genotoxiceffects in both assays. In the two systems used, CMCF was themost genotoxic compound, followed by MCA, MX and MCF, respectively.This work was the first study of the DNA damaging propertiesof all four CHFs in two in vitro genotoxicity tests. Pretreatment of rats with the extract of Ginkgo biloba termed EGb761 reduced the behavioral sensitization induced by successive -amphetamine administrations (0.5 mg/kg) as estimated by increasing values of locomotor activity. EGb761 pretreatment also prevented the reduced density of [3H]dexamethasone binding sites in the dentate gyrus and the CA1 hippocampal regions of -amphetamine treated animals. These observations suggest that EGb761, by reducing glucocorticoid levels, could modulate the activity of the neuronal systems involved in the expression of the behavioral sensitization.  相似文献

After orthognathic surgery for class II dentofacial deformity, remodelling of the mandibular condyle will take place. In a number of cases, this may evolve towards a phenomenon of condylar resorption. Yet, studies on the occurrence of this complication after the correction of a class III deformity are scarce. A systematic review of the literature was performed with the aim of identifying reports on condylar resorption or remodelling after orthognathic surgery for class III dentofacial deformity. A search of the international databases yielded 12 eligible studies. Eight studies reported some degree of postoperative condylar remodelling, while symptoms of condylar resorption were only described in a limited group of patients. Thus, the literature may show evidence of condylar remodelling after orthognathic treatment of class III patients, and anecdotal reports of condylar resorption exist. The small sample sizes, heterogeneity in methods and outcomes, and use of two-dimensional radiographs indicate the need for updated long-term research. In the future, the use of cone beam computed tomography data for volumetric and morphological condylar analysis in combination with three-dimensional cephalometry may provide the opportunity to further elucidate this phenomenon and better characterize its aetiology.  相似文献

In order to overcome the challenge associated with the screening of Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids abuses in animal competitions, a non-targeted liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry based metabolomics approach was implemented on equine urine samples to highlight potential biomarkers associated with the administration of such compounds, using testosterone esters as model steroids. A statistical model relying on four potential biomarkers intensity could be defined to predict the status of the samples. With a routine application perspective, the monitoring of the highlighted potential biomarkers was first transferred into high-throughput liquid chromatography-selected reaction monitoring (LC-SRM). The model's performances and robustness of the approach were preserved and providing a first demonstration of metabolomics-based biomarkers integration within a targeted workflow using common benchtop MS instrumentation. In addition, with a view to the widespread implementation of such biomarker-based tools, we have transferred the method to a second laboratory with similar instrumentation. This proof of concept allows the development and application of biomarker-based strategies to meet current doping control needs.  相似文献

Upon demand, 1,3‐diamino‐propane‐triethylborane (DAPTB) is photolyzed in the presence of an acid generator such as a diphenyliodonium salt. Interestingly, triethylborane is released. In the presence of oxygen, ethyl radicals are generated and initiate an acrylate polymerization. This is the first example of a phototriggered production of a triethylborane usable in the photoinitiation of acrylate polymerizations. This approach is also worthwhile to overcome the oxygen inhibition for free‐radical polymerization processes.  相似文献
