Critical evaluation of continuous monitors for toluene diisocyanate   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper describes the experiments and the results of an exhaustive and critical laboratory study which evaluated the performance of continuous area and personal monitors popularly used in measuring the concentrations of TDI in industrial environments. The studies consisted of dynamic calibrations, the effect of humidity and temperature on the measurements, and the interferences due to commonly encountered contaminants in a TDI manufacturing plant. The response and resolution of the personal monitor for short-term fluctuations of TDI concentration in time and space are also reported.  相似文献

Thirty-two patients with congenital neurosensory hearing loss demonstrated dilatation of the peripheral limb of the vestibular aqueduct as visualized on pluridirectional tomograms. Multiple additional anomalies involving most frequently the cochlea (15 patients) but also the ossicles (three patients) or vestibule (one patient) were associated. The axial-pyramidal (Poschl) projection was of great value in evaluation of the vestibular aqueduct and cochlea. The technique, clinical correlation, and surgical implications are discussed.  相似文献

A new and versatile method for the generation of standard atmospheres of several organo isocyanates based on permeation technique has been developed. Several membranes were screened for integrity, compatibility and permeability of these isocyanates. Silicone membrane was found to be the best membrane for the construction of permeation devices. Two types of permeation are described: liquid phase and gas phase. The liquid phase permeation tubes are recommended for generation of high concentrations (ppm) and gas phase permeation is preferred for generation of atmospheres with low concentrations (ppb). Several simple designs for construction of permeation devices are described. The permeation of isocynates were evaluated gravimetrically and were shown to be constant, provided the temperature and the flow rate of air over the permeation tube are maintained constant.  相似文献

Thirty four novel 7-fluoro/nitro-1,2-dihydro-5-oxo-8-(sub)-5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]quinoline-4-carboxylic acids were synthesized from 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid and 2,4-dichloro-5-fluoroacetophenone by multi step reaction, evaluated for in vitro and in vivo antimycobacterial activities against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv (MTB), multi-drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and Mycobacterium smegmatis (MC2) and also tested for the ability to inhibit the supercoiling activity of DNA gyrase from M. smegmatis. Among the synthesized compounds, 8-[6-[[(1,1-dimethylethoxy)carbonyl]amino]-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hex-3-yl]-1,2-dihydro-7-nitro-5-oxo-5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]quinoline-4-carboxylic acid (10q) was found to be the most active compound in vitro with MIC of 0.08 microM and <0.08 microM against MTB and MDR-TB respectively. Compound 10q was found to be 4.5 and >570 times more potent than isoniazid against MTB and MDR-TB respectively. In the in vivo animal model 10q decreased the bacterial load in lung and spleen tissues with 2.51 and 3.71-log10 protections respectively at the dose of 50 mg/kg body weight.  相似文献

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Screening and detection of early stages of CKD can help institute interventions that may delay the progression of the disease. One aim was to study the prevalence of early stages of CKD in the Army.Methods: A cross-sectional study ofArmy Personnel in an Army cantt in Central India was carried out. All participants filled a structured questionnaire and anthropometric data was collected. Investigative profile included routine urine exam, semi-quantitative microalbuminuria (MAU), serum creatinine, lipid profile and fasting blood glucose. Glomerular Filteration rate (eGFR) was calculated using the Modification of Diet in Renal Diseases (MDRD) study equation.Result: A total of 1920 subjects were examined with 731 (38.07%) from Arms and 1189 (6I.93%) from Services. 348 were excluded and of the remaining 1572 subjects, 141 (8.97%) had MAU and 157 (9.99%) had deranged Albumin Creatinine Ratio (ACR). Mean eGFR by MDRD equation was 102 ± 25.84 ml/min/1.73m2. Early CKD was seen in 150 (9.54%) with 84 (5.34%) in stage I CKD, 55 (3.5%) in stage II and 11 (0.7%) in stage III. Multiple logistic regression showed BMI > 23, the presence of DM and HTN were independent risk factors for CKD.Conclusion: 9.54 % of healthy army personnel were found to have early stages of CKD. Institution of screening programs can result in early detection of CKD.  相似文献

Frequent activation of phosphatidylinositol-3 kinases (PI3K)/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in gastric cancer (GC) is gaining immense popularity with identification of mutations and/or amplifications of PIK3CA gene or loss of function of PTEN, a tumor suppressor protein, to name a few; both playing a crucial role in regulating this pathway. These aberrations result in dysregulation of this pathway eventually leading to gastric oncogenesis, hence, there is a need for targeted therapy for more effective anticancer treatment. Several inhibitors are currently in either preclinical or clinical stages for treatment of solid tumors like GC. With so many inhibitors under development, further studies on predictive biomarkers are needed to measure the specificity of any therapeutic intervention. Herein, we review the common dysregulation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in GC and the various types of single or dual pathway inhibitors under development that might have a superior role in GC treatment. We also summarize the recent developments in identification of predictive biomarkers and propose use of predictive biomarkers to facilitate more personalized cancer therapy with effective PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibition.  相似文献

The authors report the clinical and laboratory findings of a patient who had severe immune hemolytic anemia due to hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ). In this case, the HCTZ antibody reacted not only with other thiazide and thiazide-like drugs, but also with a chemically unrelated diuretic, ethacrynic acid. These results indicate that HCTZ antibody activity is not restricted solely to the thiazides and imply that therapy with any of the reactive drugs would be contraindicated for this patient. The serologic screening for drug reactivity may be useful for selecting alternative therapy for patients with drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia.  相似文献
